The recently launched Burberry Goddess fragrance is selling particularly well

Posted by Robin on 20 September 2023 3 Comments

The maker of Burberry and Gucci fragrances now sees like-for-like sales growth of 8% to 10% in the fiscal year that started in July. That’s up from the 6% to 8% sales-growth forecast the company gave in August. Sales are expected to accelerate at a faster pace in the first half of the fiscal year, Coty said in a statement Wednesday.

The recently launched Burberry Goddess fragrance is selling particularly well and helping to power the more optimistic outlook, according to Coty.

Coty (COTY.N) said on Thursday there will be no discussion of a Gucci licence deal in the next five years.

"There will be no discussion on the renewal of any of our licences before at least 5 years,” Coty CEO Sue Naby told journalists in response to a question about whether Kering (PRTP.PA) could take back a licence for beauty products for its fashion label Gucci.

— Many were wondering if Kering wanted Gucci back after buying Creed. Read more in Coty CEO says Gucci licence not under discussion for next five years at Reuters.

A single droplet of liquid

Posted by Robin on 12 July 2021 6 Comments

Coty’s touch-less fragrance tester is a digital innovation that gives customers the ultimate control over fragrance discovery in store. While spray testers oversaturate the air, overwhelming the senses and surrounding environment, this device delivers a single droplet of liquid directly to an arm or a blotter, offering customers a less invasive testing experience. It also uses data to allow Coty, in partnership with retailers, to optimize the placement of the testers and the customer experience by ensuring beauty advisors are on the spot when needed.

Seven scented stones

To take part in the virtual reality experience, in-store shoppers at Julieraque, located in Buenos Aires, Argentina, are prompted to wear a virtual reality headset and pick up seven scented stones within the virtual setting in order to activate an eight-second unique video. Each stone is tied to a broad fragrance concept, like “citrus-watery,” “floral-fruity,” or “oriental-spicy,” rather than a particular perfume or brand.
