Elizabeth Arden Pretty fragranceElizabeth Arden will launch Pretty, a new fragrance for women, this coming March. Pretty is a floral fragrance that "celebrates the ritual of getting ready to go out".

Pretty was developed by perfumer Claude Dir, and includes notes of mandarin orpur, orange blossom, peach nectar, petalia (a new Givaudan molecule), star jasmine, pink iris, white peony, fluffy musk, jacaranda wood and creamy amber…

Bond no. 9 Andy Warhol Lexington Avenue perfume bottles

It’s Andy Warhol’s birthday today (he would have been 80 this year), and Bond no. 9 is marking the occasion with the launch of the third fragrance in their Andy Warhol series, Lexington Avenue (prior entries: Silver Factory and Union Square).

The Lexington Avenue bottle might be my favorite of this series so far. It’s decorated with shoes because Warhol drew shoes, lots of them, early in his career; for a time in the 1950s he was on retainer as an illustrator for the I. Miller Shoe Company. The name of the fragrance comes from an apartment at 242 Lexington Avenue in Murray Hill that Warhol sublet from a friend in 1953…

Bond no. 9 Andy Warhol Lexington Avenue fragranceBond no. 9 will release the third fragrance in their Andy Warhol series, Lexington Avenue, in August. The scent is named for an apartment in Murray Hill that Warhol sublet from a friend in 1953.

Juicy Couture Dirty English for men ~ fragrance review

Dirty English cologne for men by Juicy Couture

When I saw the list of ingredients for Juicy Couture’s new men’s fragrance, Dirty English — peppered mandarin, blue cypress, Calabrian bergamot, caraway, cardamom pods, marjoram, black leather, “Santal Fatal” accord (a mix of sandalwood, Atlas cedar and vetiver), agarwood, ebony wood, black moss absolute, and amber musk — my first thought was: “Why this dark, heavy scent now…so close to spring?” By late February, I’m yearning for crisp-bright scents, perfumes with lots of citrus, floral, fruit and ‘green’ accords. I needn’t have worried; though Dirty English’s mix of notes sounds hot’n’heavy, the cologne is light enough to be worn in spring, even summer…
