Christina Aguilera will be at at Macy's Herald Square in New York City on Tuesday, September 2nd from 5 - 6:30 pm to introduce her new fragrance, Inspire:

Inspire is a beautiful white floral enhanced with colourful fruit notes chosen by Christina. A little known fact is that the freesia, one of the key notes within Inspire, is a small and delicate flower, yet has a very powerful presence, much like Christina.

Christina Aguilera Inspire fragranceChristina Aguilera's second fragrance under arrangements with Procter & Gamble, and her first to be marketed in the United States, will be Inspire, due to launch this September:

The new effort is meant to provide “a modern take on the Pop Art era,” the influence that Warhol had on the period combined with the image of Tokyo, particularly “the energy and excitement and how the whole city feels and comes alive at night,” she said…

It’s been a long year for celebrity fragrances, and 2008 looks to be even worse. Or better, depending on your stance. My stance: ok, celebrity fragrances are often amusing. Sometimes, they’re wearable. Sometimes, they’re wearable and distinctive. But there are far too many of them (especially in the UK, where they’re doing a much more thorough job of scraping the bottom of the barrel than we are in the US), and a large percentage work in a very narrow fruity floral genre designed to appeal to the very young. After awhile, they all start to smell the same.

Christina Aguilera joins the fray this year. Her eponymous floriental fragrance, geared towards 15-25 year olds…
