Most of my lemmings are fleeting, but I am still thinking about that darned Cire Trudon Salta candle. I thought Kevin might buy it and tell me if it was good, but apparently he does not want to be the guinea pig either. So here is Keap's Grapefruit + Yuzu ("The zestiness of citrus fruit just ripe—winter lemons, grapefruits and yuzus—and the freshness of citrus leaves wafting from your hands as you crush them. Perfect for a room filled with optimism, or days in need of a happy glow. Pure, sustainable, simple, KEAP candles are made from natural, slow-burning coconut wax. KEAP candles are clean-burning, lead-free and use cotton wicks. Each glass tumbler is reusable and made in the USA. 50 Hour burn time") which does not sound the same but might scratch the same itch? $39.50 at Twisted Lily. (And the reason I was looking at Keap this morning is that I came across L'Officiel Nose: Stephen Tracy of Keap.)

"The scent of roses bursting through richly charred soil. Their lush petals strike a beautiful contrast against the deep, smoky earthiness of their environs, life, death, and rebirth all in one. Beauty in chiaroscuro, universal balance- an unforgettable scent." Doesn't that sound tempting? It's the Asphalte Rose candle from Mad et Len, and it's huge (300g) but also spendy ($105). At Luckyscent.

Well well. From Mark Buxton, a Vetiver & Magnolia candle. The (unfortunately, not terribly helpful) description: "The Vetiver & Magnolia candle transports us through fruity notes that mingle with woody facets contrasted by a touch of vetiver." Still, it does appear to be vetiver and magnolia, so it would be worth a shot if you had money burning a hole in your pocket. 190g for €54 at Nose in France.

After much consideration, I think I could stand to have these in my house. From Etro, the Rajasthan ("...suggests a nomadic and yearning femininity, wild gypsy poetry set in the Maharaja’s cities: like the bright and colourful precious pearls from magical India. Etro’s fragrance is dedicated to an ever-changing and unexpected personality, who is always able to surprise with joy. This is an oriental floral fragrance with pink pepper, lemon, mimosa, rose and amber") and Jacquard ("A tribute to the intricately woven fabric often used by Etro in their garments, the Jacquard Candle is full of fascination and new beginnings whilst remembering the past in an authentic and original way. This fragranced candle is sophisticated and exotic with its notes of bergamot, black pepper, iris, jasmine, sandalwood") candles, 145g each for £60 at Harvey Nicks.
