NST leaves town…

Posted by Robin on 29 July 2005 35 Comments

Henlopen postcardI have no review today, and no excuse other than sheer laziness. Just as well then that I am off on vacation. Am wearing Les Bains du Marais Fleur d'Oranger, and looking forward to a relaxing week. My plans: eat french fries, sit under a beach umbrella and finish the Billy Strayhorn biography I've been neglecting all month, eat some more fries, and take my son to the boardwalk to ride the bumper cars.

I am trying to limit the number of fragrances I bring, because if last year's beach vacation is any indication, I won't end up wearing any of them anyway. In my bag so far: Carthusia Mediterraneo, L'Eau de L'Artisan, yesterday's Parfums de Nicolai Eau d'Été, Un Jardin Sur Le Nil, and Creed Jasmal. No doubt I will throw in a few more before I leave.

If it turns out (and I suspect that it will) that I do in fact have to come back home, I will post again on Tuesday, August 9th.

New Perfumes page

I have added a New Perfumes page (link also on the navigation bar at top) that lists new and upcoming fragrance releases. This should make it easier to see what fragrances are due for launch without having to scroll through the New Fragrances topic.

Blogger gives up for the day…

I meant to post a review of Miller et Bertaux's new Green scent today, but I have wasted the morning trying to get the accent marks to appear correctly in the Guerlain post below, and as you can see, I failed completely. The blogosphere gremlins are against me today, so I am giving up! I need to get myself over to Trader Joes as we are completely out of chocolate covered cherries, and I simply cannot battle accent marks without them. I will post on the MB tomorrow.

In the meantime, for your viewing enjoyment I present this lovely old ad for Mitsouko. They don't make them like they used to, no?

If you are wearing something wonderful, please comment. I am wearing Tan Guidicelli's Annam, a very calming scent that is perfect for today's unseasonably cold weather. It used to be available at ccb-paris, but they have most unkindly ceased shipping to the United States, and it does not show up on their French site either so I assume it is discontinued.

Now Smell This takes a break…

I have no perfume review today, and I am taking the rest of the weekend off. Come back next week for reviews of the new L'Artisan by Olivia Giacobetti, Extrait de Songe, and Bond no. 9 Chinatown.

If you are wearing something fabulous today, or if you have tried something new & wonderful lately, please comment!

I am going out of town again for a few days…

I may be able to post some news while I'm gone, but won't post another perfume review until Saturday afternoon. Have a great week, everyone!
