Bunch o' limited edition collector bottles 2008, part 2

Here are a few of the limited edition collector fragrance bottles that have launched since I posted Bunch o' limited edition collector bottles 2008, part 1 earlier this month. In most of these cases, the juice is unchanged, just the bottle is “special” (or not, as the case may be). Also note that a few of these may not be available in the US.

At Neiman Marcus, an Yves Saint Laurent Elle charm: “This bag accessory features an elle Yves Saint Laurent solid perfume and a fuchsia pearly lip gloss to customize a bag or a belt with absolute glamour”. $56…

Boucheron Parfums de JoaillierBoucheron is launching limited edition bottles of four of its popular fragrances. Parfums de Joaillier, "a prestigious limited-edition collection inspired by the Boucheron Jewelry creation", includes Boucheron Femme (shown), Miss Boucheron, Boucheron Pour Homme and Jaïpur Homme.

All four are available for pre-order now at Nordstrom.

Miss Boucheron perfume by Boucheron

Miss Boucheron is the latest fragrance from the French jewelry house Boucheron, and like most everything else from everyone else, is positioned to attract younger consumers to the brand. In this case, the target market is said to be 25-35 year old women:

“This is for young women who can allow themselves certain liberties,” said Jean-Christophe Bdos [sic, = Bedos], chief executive officer of Boucheron. “Miss Boucheron is there to upset the status quo. She is a modern woman.” (via Women’s Wear Daily, 3/2/2007)

Miss Boucheron was developed by perfumers Anne Flipo and Dominique Ropion, and the notes include bergamot, pomegranate, pink pepper, cyclamen, violet, rose, white suede, cedar and musk…

Boucheron Pour Homme

I remember when Boucheron introduced Pour Homme Eau de Parfum in the early nineties. It was considered rather decadent, rather gay, to have a man wear something called “perfume”. In retrospect such concerns over one simple word are hilarious, but at the time it took some days for me to muster up the courage to go into Saks Fifth Avenue in Beverly Hills to investigate the scent. Thankfully, a kind salesman guided me to the tester. I immediately loved Pour Homme and bought it.

You may chuckle at my trepidation, but times were different 15 years ago for men and toiletries. Just before searching out Boucheron Pour Homme, I had been openly laughed at, ridiculed!, by two young female customers at Robinson’s department store when I bought some moisturizer and skin cleanser from the (now discontinued) Lancôme men’s skin care line…
