Cyrillus Eau Fraiche de Cyrillus ~ new fragrance

Cyrillus Eau Fraiche cologneFrench ready-to-wear clothing line Cyrillus has launched their debut fragrance, Eau Fraîche de Cyrillus. The new unisex scent was created by perfumer Benoist Lapouza under the creative direction of Rami Mekdachi, and includes notes of mandarin, orange, lavender, vetiver, orange blossom, bergamot and musk.

Eau Fraîche de Cyrillus will be available in 250 ml, look for it in early June on the Cyrillus website. (via fashionmag.fr)

Tan Giudicelli Annam

I have spent much of this morning searching in vain for my decant of Tan Giudicelli Annam, and have come to the conclusion that I need a new storage system for my perfume.

Annam, for anyone who has never tried it, was a wonderful fragrance from designer Tan Giudicelli, who launched his own fashion label in 1984. It was created by perfumer Benoît Lapouza, and smelled like a creamy-milky rice pudding, lightly spiced, with floral & woody undertones. It was a gourmand scent, but not overly sweet, and it had a kind of Asian feel in keeping with Giudicelli’s background (he was born in Indochina). It was very reasonably priced at ccb-paris, but was discontinued some time ago…

VIP Room fragrance review

VIP Room fragrance

Today I am trying the signature scent of the French dance club Le VIP Room. The fragrance was created by nose Benoist Lapouza under the direction of Rami Mekdachi, and features notes of tiare flower, bergamot, tangerine, pineapple, sandalwood, vetiver, birch, iris root, leather, styrax, amber, vanilla, and musk.

VIP Room starts off sweet and tropical, with tiare and pineapple. There is also a slight hint of something like scorched rubber, but it is short lived; the rubber is gone, along with the tropical notes, inside of 20 minutes…
