From Italian brand L'Amande, bar soap in Licorice and Bergamot: "Organic bergamot essential oil free of sensitizing substances and liquorice, from the prized Amarelli company from Calabria, both feature calming and soothing properties against irritation. This soap has an intense citrus scent, harmoniously blended with the drier note of liquorice." $8.95 for 200g at Smallflower.

The almost-daily lemming

Would like one in my shower (and by the way, the annual "in your shower" poll is coming up on Saturday): the Neroli bar soap from natural body care brand Corpus. "A creamy coconut-based cleanser in the form of a bar soap with a luxurious lather. Gentle coconut cleansing agents remove impurities without stripping skin, while high-performance nutrients extra virgin olive, marula and squalane oils hydrate and nourish. Triple milled for optimum fragrance and texture. Orange Blossom, Bergamot and Ambrette Seed combine to create a scent reminiscent of sun-washed orange trees." $22 for 170g at New London Pharmacy.

From Bruno Fazzolari's Fzotic brand, Limonata bar soap: "Pop a cold one! Refreshing and bright, our Limonata soap will rev up your morning or wash off the day with zesty, green lemon verbena, sophisticated geranium, and amber. It includes our proprietary blend of moisturizing botanical oils and cleansing yellow clay and our unmatched, luxurious lather." $18 for 200g at Fumerie.

From Floris, a set of three 100g lily of the valley bar soaps: "Triple milled with a vegetable base producing a rich creamy lather and containing added shea butter to help moisturise the skin...Delicate yet enduring, the opening accord of leafy green top notes blend with lemon to add sparkle to the dominant floral accord of lily of the valley - the heart of this timeless favourite. Accents of jasmine, rose and tuberose with musks and powdery notes give the fragrance depth and a soft and subtle sweetness." $45 at Floris USA.
