I'm hoping for a calm and happy 2026, in Hermès Eau de Néroli Doré, again (I wore it yesterday, and I've worn it on New Year's Day for the past few years).

Cartier Baiser Volé EDP for Cloud Dancer – a soft veil of white lilies. And as Robin pointed out in her review, it still has fresh green notes and a hint of earthiness that make it more interesting without losing its serene, ethereal quality.

I’m beginning the new year in Boswellia Scotia for its sparkly winter forest vibe. And I remembered my rabbits, and even have extras for anyone who needs them.

Here you go 🐇 🐇 🐇! I’m not sure which note it is exactly, but frankincense and fir balsam are two possibilities. Frankincense is also called olibanum. Or look for “fresh spicy” among the plain-language descriptors. (It’s just my take on sparkly, of course. Some say that aldehydes feel sparkly, but I don’t get that from them.)

Not even going to try the community project because I don’t have anything that reads as white or suggests it to me: even the few white florals I do have are all dark in some way. Today I’m starting the new year in CSP Vanille Ambre, one of the very few non-food vanillas they ever did (only Rose and Freesia come to mind), but a particularly gorgeous one.
I have a few but I’m out of what would be my favorite pick: Eau d’Hiver, or Ego Facto Poopoo Pidoo. But of course no need to do the cp!

Happy New Year! I had such a lazy day yesterday that I didn’t even put on any perfume till the evening, when I decided on Papillon Perfumes Dryad.
I don’t think I have anything that makes me think of Cloud Dancer as a colour, but I love incense notes and so I have plenty of choices for calm and serenity.
I think I’ll wear Kyoto this morning.
Dryad is so gorgeous.

I bought it at Saks during the Basenotes Chicago meetup in 2017? 2018? I can’t remember which year. I’m making fish pie for dinner, I have a tradition of seafood on Xmas and New Years.

I’ve been quite busy with many house guests for the holidays and the last one doesn’t leave until Jan 10! I love them all dearly but my introverted self is definitely looking forward to some quiet time to myself. Luckily the last house guest is just my sister and she is much less high maintenance and matches my introversion.
I haven’t been wearing much fragrance due to the house guests, but chose Aromatics in White for the CP yesterday and will probably do L’eau d’Hiver today. Despite not enjoying the Cloud Dancer choice by Pantone, I will admit the CP is working well for being around people!

Happy New Year! We stayed up until about 12:15 last night to get some camping reservations for next summer. We were successful and by the time we were done, all the sites were taken for the weekend we wanted (camping with four others) so phew. (I know lots of other people stay up that late to see in the new year, but I can’t usually make it.)
Wearing a sample of Diptyque L’eau Papier for the cp today. I smell ambroxan which I seem to be sensitive to as it takes over and prevents me from getting a full sense of the fragrance.
Does anyone else practice yoga with Five Parks Yoga? They are on youtube. Erin provides a lot of free videos which is very generous and is currently doing a series from Hawaii that is really great. I’ve followed her for years. For today, she sent a link to her past video class of 108 sun salutations to welcome in the new year. I did the full class several years ago (over two days), but today I only made it to 36 – one third of the total. It’s fine– I’ll finish gradually, but was surprised how difficult it was for me!
I love Five Parks Yoga! I have never really gotten past some of the free videos filmed in Costa Rica. Currently having to take a prolonged break, unfortunately, because all the chattarandas (SP?) really bothered my left shoulder. I will have to cautiously give it a try again.
I hurt my shoulder a year ago doing chaturangas also. It took several months, but I am finally well! I skipped them and then did them with knees down for quite a while.
Hope you heal quickly.
Ugh. I have not done that yet but I strained my intercoastal muscles doing locust (not even that hard of a pose! And had done it for years!) and it was shocking how long it took to heal.

I wish I knew more but I do recall that 108 sun salutations are an act of devotion and a way to mark changes of seasons or events such as the new year.

Today we spent most of the day with Beautiful😻and Pretty😽’s ‘Auntie.’ She’s a physician and she and her mom adopted the cats’ pregnant mom from a shelter to prevent her being euthanized, and Dr. Auntie delivered the kittens, 2 of the 5 which we adopted. Unfortunately, Dr. Auntie’s mom is now living in MemoryCare suffering from dementia, so we visited her today and cheered her up; luckily, she still remembers who we are.
Not intentionally, but when I reached for Dame’s Black Flower Mexican Vanilla as my SOTD, I thought of how this week’s Cloud Dancer would be a perfect name for one of Jeffrey’s fragrances; it just seems to fit with a Native American influence. And it actually could be appropriate for the BFMV I’m wearing!
