Diptyque’s holiday collection for 2025 will launch next week. The brand will apparently dispense with the usual trio of limited edition fragranced candles and focus on Sapin, the pine tree fragrance, in a collection called A Night of Wax and Gold. There are 3 sizes of the Sapin candle (the gold glass version in 70g for €44 or 190g for €74; or a gold speckled ceramic, shown below the jump, in 1.5k for €350)…

Friday scent of the day 10/10

It’s Friday and World Mental Health Day. Birthdays: Lilly Daché, R. K. Narayan, Harry “Sweets” Edison, Thelonious Monk, Harold Pinter, John Prine. Our community project for today: wear a fragrance with nutmeg, if you have one. 

What fragrance did you pick? As always, do chime in with your scent of the day even if you’re not participating in the community project.

Double points for me: Fendi Theorema on one arm, Comptoir Sud Pacifique L’Eau du Gouverneur on the other (plus, a sprinkle of nutmeg on my tea and John Prine singing Lake Marie in the background)…

Price sensitivity

Price sensitivity is a key driver for brands, but [Carina] Chaz also noted that the role of fragrance in consumers’ lives has changed. “Wearing fragrance is a self-expression tool — to use as a part of your everyday wardrobe, not just special occasions,” she said, noting that the concept is core to Dedcool’s identity. “It shouldn’t be this super precious item that you don’t want to wear because it’s expensive.”
