If you were hoping for Diptyque's Orphéon to be done up in blue, voilà: "...its striking blue hues are offset with glittering silver to conjure up a thrilling, tumultuous night. The radiating facets of the design are a tribute to the effervescent ambiance of Orphéon, a legendary bar in Paris." At Bloomingdales, $240 for 75 ml. If that leaves too much extra cash laying about, you can spend $300 at Diptyque and get the same fragrance, blue label and all, in a carved oak presentation box.

Mesmerising fragrance advertising campaigns

From a young age, I wanted to be in the industry. France in the 80s was a time of mesmerising fragrance advertising campaigns. I would wait on Wednesdays for the person changing the posters at the bus stop, begging him to let me keep the fragrance ones. I was fascinated by them. I thought I wanted to invent the image, I suppose to be within the marketing team (though at the time I didn’t know what that was).
