Upmarket was the way to move

Posted by Robin on 25 July 2025 3 Comments

Just a year ago, Nest was all about accessible luxury. The premium fragrance brand, best known for its home candles and diffusers, expanded its line into body sprays that launched at Ulta Beauty for $39 – a category that’s been booming thanks to younger shoppers.

The daily lemming

From London-based skincare brand AKT, The Body Conditioning Balm in Orange Grove: "Prepare to perform. The Body Conditioning Balm firms, tones and rejuvenates your skin. Prebiotics balance your microbiome, while olive squalane locks in moisture, leaving your skin supple and hydrated. [...] Fortified with cutting edge ingredients like Gatuline In-Tense MB, the balm is clinically proven to firm and tighten skin by stimulating fibroblast cell activity to produce collagen deep within the extra-cellular matrix. [...] Sweet aromas burst from the freshly peeled orange. Neroli blossom dances, alive on the breeze. Another negroni over ice. It's summer after all. At first, sliced orange, sweet mandarin, Tuscan sun. And then, bitter negroni, neroli blossom, afternoon siesta. Finally, Italian cypress, petitgrain, la dolce vita." $37 for 100 ml at Bloomingdales.

I am not scenting Adamsberg or any of his team, instead, I’m wearing Parfum d’Empire Corsica Furiosa in honor of the author’s focus on the regional food and culture of France.

Reminder: 7/25 will be Mystery & Crime Friday…
