The daily lemming

Posted by Robin on 18 December 2025 9 Comments

Coming from Guerlain, the limited edition Rouge Bonheur (last year's description: "A perfect balance of spicy freshness, blossom, and woody depth, it embodies the very essence of the Chinese New Year spirit. Opening with enchanting spicy notes of pepper and ginger, the fragrance then unveils a floral heart of rose and magnolia, before revealing comforting notes of cedar and white musk"), with decorations by Parisian jeweller Atelier Truscelli for the Year of the Horse (they also did the Lunar New Year bottles for 2025 and 2024). 1786 were made, 24-carat gold plate with 79 Swarovski crystals. It is in 125 ml, and these usually come with a pre-filled 30 ml travel spray.

Ok I have to say it: this looks hilariously cheap.

I agree! Compared to the other 2 years this looks phoned in. I’ll be interested to see if they continue this design theme. Snake and Dragon are easy years, Horse has now proved difficult. But PIG will really be challenging 🤣

Passage d’Enfer has been doing this theme too. They managed to make Rabbit look good, and of course Tiger, Snake and Dragon are easy.

That surprises me. Especially with that color.

This looks like zero thought went into it. Surprised that Guerlain would approve this.
