Yesterday’s dentist appointment was a bust. Somehow, my insurance approved a crown and build up on a tooth that doesn’t need it. So I got to work on that and gave my appointment to my mom for 1 of her teeth. She had to have that tooth pulled, it was too messed up to save and she had an infection. So after my appointment, I applied no 5 edp for a little comfort. Today, I will probably wear Number One Intense while I plot my Candle Day run. The price for the Bath and Body Works 3 wick candles are going to be $9.95.

Twin-sies, Glannys. We smell marvelous. Bonus points for the warmth of this fragrance in cold December. Robin, I love Dzongkha and you smell great, it’s a lovely choice. For me it’s a purely summer fragrance that I reach for to cool me down. But I should really try it one day this winter when I’m feeling toasty indoors.

Vintage Chloe from one of those dabber bottles with a flower on top. Lately I’ve been completely drawn to those big, romantic 80s florals — probably because I’m reading Rivals, and Jilly Cooper is always dropping irresistible perfume references. There’s even a line about a man wearing Aramis and a woman in Diorella, and she jokes about who would out-smell whom. It absolutely sent me down a nostalgic perfume rabbit hole. Is there any big 80’s perfumes that still smell big?

I’m thinking of the scent of digging in the vegetable garden, turning the soil, and the scent of newly pulled crops. Also the smell of the sprinkler as it waters the beds, when all the blackbirds fly down to go over the hoed rows, to pull worms. Smell Bent Brussel Sprouted is the closest in my collection. Nice sunny day here, no clouds and a warm breeze. Beginning to feel like summer

According to Reddit, the site is fake, what they sell is fake, whole thing is a scam. I’d steer clear.

Jomashop has Side Effect and they are legit. Just make sure it’s in stock before ordering for Christmas, their backorders can take a while.
I can also vouch for Jomashop. That is wear I bought my beloved Encens Mythique
I haven’t tried Jomashop for perfume but suspect they’re legit. It’s less likely that you’d get a bottle of perfume on the grey market that would be bad, since it does come from the manufacturer.
Other stuff, YMMV. I currently have a lemon of a what should be a very nice watch from Jomashop. But with watches it’s possible to get one from the brand itself that is a lemon…just, there’s a warranty and they’ll replace it if they can’t fix it, unlike with Jomashop. Guess what I’m getting for Christmas from Mr. Ockeghem this year? Yeah, a slightly less nice watch but bought from the manufacturer. (Fortunately I care less about watches than he does. 🙂 )

Wearing ELO Nombril Immense on a soggy, cold day,
I love this one. It’s such a great patchouli fragrance and you can’t beat the name.
I’m taking points in Boswellia Scotia. It’s a rarity in that it’s an extrait formulation that feels light and repays overspraying with wonderfulness.
In other news, the decant of JM Amber Labdanum from hajusuuri’s recent split arrived yesterday, and it’s a hit! Lovely warmth, with a hint of something that reads as slightly smoky, probably the “roasted oak” note. Yummy.

I’ve been sick yesterday and today. Not Covid, not flu, just pounding headache, body aches, low fever. I slept most of yesterday and I am considering getting dressed today. I think I might wear Rhubarbe Ecarlate to cheer myself up.

So glad it is cookie day as it is also my Birthday Day!!! Never been a cake fan, so I can indulge in double the cookies to celebrate. Not sure what to wear….may just need to warm up with some LDDM, always a Tauer favorite. Regarding the cornflake wreaths, I will say that the little red hot candies that are meant to look like holly berries can be very hard. I’ve been using little red M&Ms for the last few years and I think those are better for not giving someone a broken tooth!

Very coniferous. I didn’t get along with this one when I first tried it but it has really grown on me.
FeA is one of those scents that smells better the colder it gets, IMO.
That makes a lot of sense. I don’t think the sweetness in it works well in the heat.

Sotd LV Sun Song. Gosh, I love this sample. In the best possible way it reminds me of the original CL Escape from the early 90’s, which I really really loved.

When my brother and I got old enough, we would put up the Xmas tree and decorate it ourselves. I think my parents enjoyed watching us do that.

It was 7 degrees when I woke up this morning albeit there was bright 🌞 and a blue sky. But with the frozen snowpack not in any danger of melting soon, that didn’t help much. I decided to warm up with some chocolate, so I layered Dame’s Chocolate Man over various chocolate body products. Not sure how warm it made me, but I sure smelled yummy today. 😋
We went on various errands this afternoon including grocery shopping and a trip to Costco. I’m always amazed at all the things you can get there, everything from tires to delicious bakery products. The only problem is you need a huge house with vast storage spaces and 3 or 4 refrigerator/freezers to hold the huge sizes/quantities of their offerings!
It’s going down to 3 degrees tonight 🥶🥶🥶. Hope your night is more comfortable!
This is why I do not belong to Costco! I used to shop at Price Club (same sort of thing) in San Diego and I just bought too much stuff, including tons of stuff I did not plan to buy. People with better willpower than I can save tons of money there I am sure.

Mr. Laila joined because our home insurance company had some kind of a deal with Costco and we got a discount on our home insurance if we joined + their gas is cheaper and. Costco is adjacent to the Aldi where I grocery shop, so it’s convenient. Other than gas, we have only go there occasionally and only buy a few things, my house can’t accommodate their large offerings Today we went for a couple of gift baskets for the holidays.
That’s perfect then…mine is not really convenient for me anyway.
Thick fog rolled in last night after the snow stopped here. Had a Dense Fog Advisory as a result. But this morning was COLD and clear. One of my weather apps said that it was 4 degrees F when I woke up. Another said it was 10 degrees. Very thankful for nice wool socks!
