The daily lemming

Posted by Robin on 28 November 2025 6 Comments

Just what it looks like: a maple syrup candle in a maple syrup can. "Give your home a warm, comfortable feel with this softly scented maple candle. At first glance, it looks like a can of pure maple syrup. But instead of syrup, it contains a premium soy wax candle that fills your home with the soothing scent of maple as the natural wood wick crackles cozily like a wood-burning fire." $19.95 at Vermont Country Store.

It sounds cute but I don’t think I’d like a candle in a can, because it would get too hot.

Agreed – to feel safe I’d need a trivet and an oven glove, possibly ruing the ambience.

Interesting. I’ve had candles in tins and never had a problem, but you never know.

I have this one and it doesn’t have strong throw but it’s one of my boyfriend’s favourite candles. I feel like a bit of a stereotype of a Canuck burning it, but it’s cute.
