Very cold and windy day. I am watching now the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade on TV and then I will bake an apple pie and make a deviled egg potato salad to bring to our family gathering later this afternoon. I am counting my blessings and I am very thankful for the good and bad. I could not be more fortunate in my life.

We ate at my mother’s retirement community and there was green bean casserole on the huge buffet, sorry you did not get yours!

Pumpkin pies are finally done, and now I just need to make the whipped cream. I baked fresh muffins this morning, and the kitchen is filled with a delightful aroma. I plan to have a wonderful Thanksgiving with plenty of food and bourbon. 🥃
I haven’t decided on my SOTD yet, but I hope to find some inspiration here.

Happy Thanksgiving! It will just be me and my husband this year which is fine with us. We will watch football and eat sometime this afternoon. I made all the usual things, but pumpkin bars instead of any pies. Got everything done yesterday so just a matter of warming it all up.
SOTD is Shalimar MJ. The jasmine is blossoming. Oh, I also used BBW Noel Vanilla Bean body wash and body cream. Mmmmmm.
I forgot to add my gratitude. The list is long as I have been truly blessed, but I am especially thankful for this group of people.

It’s not a celebration here, but over recent years we’ve imported the concept of sales the next day 🙂 .
I’m just heading off to work as usual, and looking forward to the weekend. I’m wearing a recent cheap purchase, Emmanuel Ungaro’s Diva.
My Mom used to go all out on the Thanksgiving baking. I wish I had learned more of the recipes.
I noticed that much of the world seems to have adopted Black Friday, and meanwhile Black Friday sales in the US have expanded, often to the whole week before Thanksgiving to a few days after Cyber Monday.
Happy Thanksgiving! We’re keeping it low key here with the two of us and not doing any elaborate dishes so my partner can just enjoy the day and not be coordinating cooking in our small kitchen. We’ll have a mix of sausages, mashed potatoes, sauerkraut, green bean casserole, and rolls. Then pecan pie (store bought) and vanilla ice cream for dessert. And breakfast shortly will be cinnamon rolls.
I’m sampling Astier de Villatte Commune de Paris and Eau Chic and enjoying both.

Buy yourself a pack of sausages next year to make with the turkey. Super easy prep and not much money added to the meal. Ours were tasty!
Your dinner sounds great! Our big meal this year was at 1 pm (breakfast for me, so it is weird to eat turkey & mash at that hour) and just had a steak salad for dinner, which I’ll take over turkey any day.
I kinda like eating early on these holidays sometimes, but, yeah, 1 is a bit earlier than I’d like for Thanksgiving food. Hope your day was really nice!
I’ve been meaning to ask if you saw that Lush brought back 25:43 in body spray format? I ordered a bottle along with Snowcake body spray, another that’s been unavailable for a long time. I hope they’re both still good!

Today I’m getting mostly the raspberry, rosewood and incense notes, probably due to the cold weather here.

My turkey has been cooked and eaten. The kitchen is clean and everyone is napping. I’m doing some online Christmas shopping for my daughter. I’m trying to decide if I want to get her some Hello Kitty clogs I found on sale. They are super cute. I just know she will want to wear them in the winter though. That is my hesitation.
Thanks to a generous Nster, I am finally trying out Lair du desert marocain. I’m not sure how I feel about it. It’s more masculine leaning than I expected.

I’m surprising myself by actually feeling a bit hungry again! Planning to laze about reading for the rest of the afternoon with occasional breaks to fix Chex Party Mix and a pecan pie (store bought crust so very little effort needed).

I’m in Eau Sauvage and thankful that I thought to take a covid test BEFORE having people over, because yes, the nasty cold has turned into covid (or it’s been layered over the nasty cold — who can really tell?). So we have split up the steak and lobster tails that were planned for Thanksgiving dinner, and have put them on hold for Mr. G and me. The other half of them have been picked up (contactlessly!) by Mr. G’s son, and hopefully he and his lovely wife will enjoy them.
Oh no! I’m sorry you weren’t able to have your family over. I hope you get better soon.

I did get to enjoy some dinner! I found an appetite and the right moment between cold med doses at the same time, and it was delicious. Couldn’t handle the wine though, which was probably just as well.
Oh good. And yeah, skip the wine until you’re negative…

I’ve been wearing Wrappings in teeny tiny doses for a few weeks now, ever since SoCal had a turn toward cooler weather and then into rain.
It is quite a tenacious scent on me, and I love the dry down. In my mental perfume catalog Wrappings is a cousin or maybe the love child of White Linen and Vol de Nuit. 💛 So good!

It’s late but I didn’t want this day to end w/o wishing everyone Happy Thanksgiving 🦃 and expressing my gratitude to Robin for NST and to all of you here who make this about so much more than perfume!🙏
We spent a wonderfully relaxing day and had a delicious dinner at my sons’s house; all I had to make was my fresh cranberry relish. SOTD is my Thanksgiving standard, Lagerfeld KL, because it has all the spices I associate with this holiday!
This morning as I was reading the Chicago Trib’s Voice of the People’s thoughts on what they were grateful for, one stood out for me and stayed with me all day – that existence itself is a gift and that the simple fact of being is extraordinary. Wow, simple yet profound!
