So that means no almond, no cherry

We spent the better part of 20 minutes or so chatting about fragrance trends and ingredient technology, but then [perfumer Olivier] Cresp dropped a beauty bomb in my lap: He told me that cherry perfumes could be coming to an end because of one single ingredient. “Benzaldehyde is going to be totally banned by 2027, so that means already in our formulas, on the counter, we have to withdraw benzaldehyde,” he said. “So that means no almond, no cherry.”

[...] For now, cherry perfumes are here to stay, but perfumers say they’ll likely lean more gourmand than floral or nutty in the years to come. “It’s not going to be the end of the world,” adds [perfumer Jérôme] Epinette.

A gift set in Mandarin Pine Needles, one of Yves Rocher's limited edition fragrances for Holiday 2025 (the other is Winter Berries). With Liquid Hand Soap, Bath & Shower Gel, Lip Balm and Hand Cream, $19.95 (CAD, I assume?) at Yves Rocher Canada.
