It's Friday and United Nations Day. Our community project for today: wear any fragrance you like and tell us what you’d like people to think of you when they smell it on you, OR, wear a fragrance and connect it with a fellow reader who “enabled” you to get it or who you know likes it/has mentioned wearing it. Both of these projects were suggested by allo.
What fragrance did you pick? As always, do chime in with your scent of the day even if you’re not participating in the community project.
I'm in Fendi Theorema, a fragrance I associate with all the lovely people who used to hang out on the fragrance board at MakeupAlley. I'm sorry that I can no longer remember all the usernames of the Theorema fans, but they are all owed enabler pins for convincing me to try Theorema while I still could.
Reminder: for Halloween on 10/31, wear your quirkiest or weirdest or spookiest fragrance. (This is a repeat.)
And for those of you who like to plan ahead, see Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2025, where I'll try (but usually fail) to have the next five or six weeks mapped out in advance.
Note: top image is from the Fendi campaign for Fall 2025.
Oh Theorema, my love… if only this could be brought back
for me today in keeping with the theme–Inis Energy of the Sea by Fragrances of Ireland
I have enough to last me, but it still seems a shame it is gone.
My chief enabler is hajusuuri. I’m wearing JM Elderflower Cordial this morning in her honor – purchased after she posted about it on IG. It’s not really matching the season, but it will be gone by afternoon so I will replace it with something else later!
There might be one other other two people who will agree here! (one or two hundred?)
Ha, so true.
🤣🤣🤣
Vintage haul, final day, and I’m in — finally! — an actual factual chypre, Choc de Cardin, which is so eighties (as it should be: it’s a bottle from 1981 or thereabouts, incredibly well preserved). Starts off brilliantly citrusy with a splash of aldehydes, then reveals a thick, honeyed floral oriental with lots of oakmoss burbling up from the underworld. Very much my kind of thing. So much oakmoss!
And it also fits the community project, because what I would like people to think of me when they smell it isn’t, “Sure, keep living in the past, GRANDPA,” but, “He has got it GOING ON.” Olfactorily, at least.
Haha, I love this, Pyramus. You indeed have it going on and you smell marvelous.
Perfumes from the past have a glamour that present day perfumes often lack. Oakmoss is also one of the defining elements in them. You definitely have it going on. Fabulous!
This made me laugh!
Now I have “Stacy’s Mom” going thru my head. 🎶
😆😆😆
Hello and tgif!
Sotd is Kilian Angel’s Share Paradis. I’d like people to think “Ooh she likes to party! Drinks in the morning!”, I’m joking of course!! I’d actually like people to think I smell sorta delicious but in a grown up and sophisticated kind of way.
I also had Hermes Galop in mind because I recall somebody here liked it but I just can’t remember who! Please enlighten me.
I am one of the Galop lovers, happy888cat, and I think lovetosmellgood loves it, too 🙂
Thank you!
LTSG was commenting pretty regularly about her love for Galop. Wonder where she is?
I wonder too..
I’m in FM Bigarade Concentre, and I hope I smell clean 🙂 Plowing through loads of paperwork today, hoping to make some coworkers and customers happy with my efforts-hint-it won’t work lol. At least my scent of the day makes me happy-I get no cumin in this, just citrus, and hay, and rose, then cedar dry down.
Hope springs eternal! I hope you are appreciated 🙂
Carole, you’re in one of my favorites. (I do get a hint of cumin, but I love it.) You smell fabulous!
Robin, I might have been one of the MakeUpAlley people singing the praises of Theorema – with a giant bullhorn. It is one of my all-time faves and I also bemoan its passing. I came to it through the original Fendi Fendi, which was one of my signature scents for years. (One of our sons once knocked over an entire bottle on the admittedly rickety bathroom cabinet and it smashed onto the tile and broke and our bathroom smelled magnificent for months.)
I am scentless this morning because I’m going to a little sniffa get together with two perfumista friends and we are all bringing our latest treasures and acquisitions. After that I will smell like a melange of fragrances that will duke it out on skin to see which one wins.
Also, re MUA, I was trying to clean up some of the apps/shortcuts on my phone and tapped on my old makeupalley icon and it came up “404 This doesn’t exist” and I had a pang of sadness and nostalgia for all my good times there over the years. That site was a treasure trove of comments and reviews and wisdom and just plain fun and I hope it’s archived somewhere but I doubt it. I’m also afraid for Basenotes, another site that holds a valuable repository of info, history, & many erudite reviews. The owner, Grant, who seems like a really good guy, says his traffic is way down. This is no doubt due first to influencers and reviewers on YouTube, Insta, etc where people now go to get their info (not slagging them, just pointing out that the paradigm has shifted) and secondly to AI. Now when I google a perfume, the first thing that comes up is an AI generated entry. I fear that for many people, that’s as far as they will go, and they won’t visit specific sites to learn more. (and of course AI is stealing all their meticulously gathered information). I see the same problem on many outdoor and sports sites, which say they are also in trouble. I may be in the minority, but I prefer to read about a perfume than watch a video.
I have the same problem re: videos as a source of information. I knit quite a bit nowadays and it is a struggle to find good illustrated guides/written guides over videos. Don’t get me wrong, they’re great for beginners and would have saved me a lot of pain during my early learning days, but it pains me to scrub through a 10min video to find a 30s clip of what I need to see.
Reliance on video also makes for less detailed written reviews/guides/etc — I wonder if it means less of an exercise in articulating your thoughts.
Absolutely. We have a shorter attention span due to phones, we read way less, our critical thinking and comprehension is down, & we want easily digestible bites. But like you, I find, paradoxically, that most videos include a lot of hemming and hawing and long intros to wade through before getting any real info, which makes me impatient. Whereas I can skim a story or a review much faster to glean what I want. But I realize I’m in the minority. Perhaps not here on this site but certainly in the world at large.
If the google wayback thingie doesn’t exist anymore or doesn’t work for you, try this website: https://archive.ph/
Use the second fill-in slot to enter the website name, and the tool searches several archive sites. We use it mostly to get unlocked versions of news articles, but it might work for mua too.
Thank you SheriG. I forgot all about that. Very useful.
Thanks for that info about Basenotes! There are such great reviews on it, I would hate to see it gone. From now, I will double down on my efforts to visit Basenotes rather than another one that I try to avoid (yet usually shows up top in any search).
Yes I know what you mean tulipani. I often click on that other site by mistake because even when I type in Basenotes, the other site comes up first and I don’t notice until I’ve clicked. I also notice that with newer fragrances, there are way fewer reviews than there used to be. Some have none. That is a bad sign. And BN used to show up on more searches. Now a ton of other sites and videos show up instead. It all bodes ill.
Gosh, I hope Basenotes stays alive! Grant works so hard (unlike me…I am not even taking new users at the moment) to keep it vibrant and alive.
Eventually we’ll all go under. When this site stops making enough to cover the hosting, it will go too, and for sure that day will come. It’s just how it works, unfortunately.
Say it ain’t so, Robin!!
Hosting is expensive and blogs are not growing…it’s simple economics. I am not looking to make money from NST but I can’t afford to put my own money into paying for it, and depending on how things go next year, I may or may not be able to invest as much free labor either. We are fine for 2025, at least.
Oh Robin I hope not. What a shame that would be. Ugh. I feel that something very important is being lost when these sites go under. A community that was brought together by one person’s labor of love and passion for the subject, (yours in this case) that coalesced around shared interests, not profit motives, that has succored people and created bonds and friendships in the online space.
I would MUCH rather read than watch a video and I am uninterested in all the tiktok influencers. I loved mua back in those early days (early oughts for me) — I learned so much about perfume there, and the makeup reviews were also helpful. Once they ended swapping, I still visited the site but it was less fun. I would be so sad to lose basenotes, also. But I truly can’t imagine losing NST. I hope it doesn’t happen. 🙁
Me too…sadly I just can’t stand watching people talk about things I care about, for the most part, I want to read.
My son, true to his age, would much rather watch people talking than read.
I’m with you on MUA, springpansy. Swapping there was so much fun and back then, international postage was also a lot cheaper and I swapped with folks all over the world. I’m with you both on preferring to read. I find reading very relaxing.
I can’t stand watching perfume-related content on YouTube. Most of it is SO bad. Like someone else mentioned, a bunch of filler. Some of the AI-generated crap is even worse. I prefer to sift thru written words for the information I want.
Time to check out Basenotes. I have a hotlink to the website. Just been a while since I’ve used it.
SOTD is Gucci Eyes of the Tiger in its beautiful faux-porcelain bottle. The scent is a rather straightforward vanillic-amber. Quite comforting which is what I need today.
This was a blind acquisition and a bit of a wild one. A friend who works in delivery logistics had rescued it from a lot of returned cosmetics — did you know that all returned cosmetics go straight to trash? Amongst several high-end hair styling hot combs, straighteners and eyeshadow palettes was this completely new and unopened bottle of perfume. All going to disposal! Makes me wonder how many of these get rescued and resold online.
An amazing amount of *things*, not just cosmetics, go straight to trash when they are returned. It’s tragic.
What a shame this is. And it clogs up landfills. There would certainly be a market for much of it. AI, get on that problem, please.
Wow, what a story. And what a bummer about those returns.
It’s Day 5 of Musk Week, and I’m in vintage Aviance Night Musk, from Prince Matchabelli. (It’s a 1983 flanker to Aviance.)
My scent today was “enabled” by fellow NSTer DeniseH, who generously gifted me a sample.😊 She points out that the small bottle in her collection was originally priced at $3.95, which is another example of how affordable some of these fabulous perfumes were, back in the day.
This one was SO familiar to me – I’m sure I smelled it in the hallways of my high school.
I get lots of powdery white florals at the top, with a good dose of Jovan-style musk. There’s vanilla in there, too, and faint hints of cinnamon and apple. Denise encouraged me to be patient with this one, because (in her experience) after a couple of hours the top notes bloom once again. She was right – they come roaring back. And boy do they last! Not only will I be wonderfully fragrant all day, I can look forward to an “Aviance night,” as the old commercial said.
You describe this beautifully, Daniel. I consider your Musk week to be a success!
Thanks, Carole! It was fun, and I got to spend some time with a few unfamiliar fragrances.
So glad you are enjoying this one, Daniel.
I remember those Aviance Night ads!
What a meaningful week to have Daniel! Aviance, oh gosh, that’s a terrific, memorable throwback. As usual, your fragrance notes are compelling, vivid and poetic! Bravo!
Right now I’m wearing The Abandoned Mansion because it blends well with the dregs of the Feu Secret and Ancient Resins oil that I applied last night in a mostly successful attempt to get to sleep quickly. But after that all gets showered off, I’ll be in Vol de Nuit extrait. I have a clear cube-style tester bottle of it, a very good deal on which was pointed out to me by a former NSTer who posted here as rappleyea. She warned me that it would ruin me for anything else, and it did for a while. (The Ancient Resins oil was enabled by Robin herself, but that’s hardly fair as a point-getter since nearly all of my collection was enabled by this website.)
A friend used to be obsessed with Ancient Resins – it can be used on hair…?
I don’t see why not, as long as the hair isn’t oily to begin with. It’s a very soothing fragrance.
I never tried it on my hair, but I would not really put any oil on my hair so I’m not any sort of fair test.
SotD is vintage Obsession and I’d like people- specifically my family- to think of this as the one perfume that is really “me.”
We had our first frost overnight and I could see it on the grass as I walked to my 7am barre class. The sun came up while I was working out and now it’s beautiful and sunny, and a little warmer.😉🌞
You smell wonderful today!
Yet another person here who was enabled by NST. This is probably my first one: Cuir de Lancome. I happened to see it for fourty dollars at Winners and bought it unsniffed, and I liked it so much I headed right back and bought a backup bottle. I’m going through the second bottle since it is that’s it. It’s also about my only successful unsniffed buy.
Nice!!! So glad you got the backup.
Why, oh why, was Cuir de Lancome discontinued??
Wearing Fzotic Ummagumma. Enabler pin goes to Deva. Cozy and warming for a cold, but sunny day. Love it!
Happy Friday! 🌻
Go Deva!
😃
Bet Kito is glad that it’s the weekend, too!
I think so! 😸
I’m giving big enabler pins to both Daniel and perfumelover67 today, for sharing some wonderful Amouage scents with me over the past couple of years and sending me down a rabbit hole from which I have just barely emerged!
Yesterday I wore Epic Woman, introduced to me by pl67. And today I chose Fate Woman, generously shared by Daniel. It is gloriously heady and complex.
Happy Friday, all!
💕
Oh, I’m so glad you’re enjoying Fate (Woman.) Heady and complex is a great way to describe it.😊
Enabler pin to tulipani today. I think that is the person that sent me the sample though many love this fragrance.
SOTD is Encens Mythique. Smelled good getting my flu shot!
I’m so thrilled to have enabled EM. It’s really one of my all time favorites!
Hope you have no side effects from the flu shot.
Thanks! I love it! I ordered immediately after I received it from you. I have a BUB too thanks to a dear friend that gave me a gift certificate from where I bought it.
I normally don’t have reactions from the flu vaccine so should be good!
Gave serious thought to Encens Mythique today.
I’m wearing Vacation Grand Cuvee today, enabler pins to lillyjo and springpansy. I bought it unsniffed from the Ulta sale and I really like it. I guess I just want people to think I smell good which is my perfume goal in general.
Went to an estate sale this morning and bought a full 30ml bottle of Tresor for $9. Batch code appears to be from 2009. Do you guys realize that was 16 years ago? Kind of made me pause! Anyway, I don’t want to mess up my pleasing Grand Cuvee cloud so I will try out my new perfume later. I never wore Tresor.
Yay – that makes me happy. 🙂
Estate sales rock. Congrats on your find.
Always happy to enable. Lol.
That’s a great estate sale find. I hope you really like it.
How can 2009 be 16yrs ago when 1992 was only 20 yrs ago?
Lol.
Yes, that’s it lol
Very nice estate sale find!
I sprayed some on over an hour ago and I’m starting to like it. Like peach with a whisper of something a little dark underneath. I might wear it.
hello fragrant friends,
SOTD is Box of Eels. Enabled by the collective here, right down to it’s special, silly name.
Smelling wonderful!
You smell marvelous. Yeah I think a lot of us love that one. We have good taste!
My hair has been super dry lately. Don’t blow dry or use heat appliances, so not sure what’s up. Used Nuxe’s pre-shampoo nourishing hair mask this morning before showering–directions say to leave on 10-30 mins, left it in a good hour, we’ll see if it looks any better when it finally dries. I do enjoy the BWF fragrance.
Am in Eau Premiere–think I enabled myself on this one–first sampled via magazine scent strip–remember those??😉
Yes, I remember those and loving magazines too. Now they’re like pamphlets.
Macy’s just sent me a mini catalog with scent strips inside!
Me too😊
I had thought of a really good reason why Rien fitted this week’s cp particularly well on Monday and have since completely forgotten what it was 😅
It is a fragrance that got me one of the best perfume related compliments though.
Enjoy it anyway! Have a lovely weekend.
You too!
Ha! At least you remembered the fragrance. I often think of next week’s Friday fragrance on the previous Friday, then forget it entirely by Monday.
Is it because people ask you what you’re wearing and you say “Rien” (nothing) when it’s one of the most powerful fragrances on the planet with everything in it?
Antoine Lee has a good sense of humor😊
No it wasn’t that particular aspect of Rien. And I agree that Lie on top of creating a great perfume made it have a great name.
What was the perfume compliment?
That it smelled unusual and that she thought it really suited me.
She was a lab tech I worked with for years. She really liked perfume and always came to sniff me when we worked together. Her favourites were Black Cashmere and Bois de Paradis.
There’s a lot of wind damage in the cemetery. Some of the heritage rose bushes have been uprooted, trees are split and branches broken off, pine trees toppled, and yet, surprisingly, none of the headstones have fallen. I expected to see the tall cenotaphs blown over as they don’t have metal rods through their core. Lower down the hill there is a line of poplars that have all lost branches or snapped, and at the university a couple of big ( old) trees have uprooted. Somehow they missed the old stone buildings. Part of an avenue of elm trees, planted as a war memorial 100 years ago have also uprooted. Seeing these huge, old trees lying on their side is a very sombre sight, a very real loss. It’s calm today and I’m wearing my dad’s Crabtree and Evelyn Sandalwood from the 1990s or 1980s, whenever it came out.
I’m so sorry to hear about the trees. I always feel badly when the old ones succumb to fire or storms or malicious mischief.
Oh that’s so sad, Kanuka, that is a real loss.
Oh dear. Will it get cleaned up — is this cemetery still regularly maintained?
It’s hard to imagine a wind so powerful that it can uproot such large trees. And so painful to feel their absence.
That’s a shame about the vintage rose bushes. Can they be re-rooted?
So sad to see trees destroyed like this.
Kanuka, we have a similar path of poplars planted in a nearby park that was dedicated to local soldiers who perished in World War I. It’s a peace path. We’ve been having a terrible drought for some time, and ther’s been worried the trees would die. I empathize with your loss of these special trees.
Today’s enabler pin goes to lillyjo, who described wearing Angel Iced Star and made it sound so appealing that I bought a bottle. I never liked the original on my skin, but Iced Star is perfect for me, especially in Hawaii. Thanks, lillyjo!
So glad you like it! It’s too bad it was limited edition.
Lillyjo and Aurora are the resident TM experts here at NST. I have Angel Eau Croisiere 2020 thanks to her sending me a sample of it.
SOTD = Chanel Egoist EDT Vintage
Woot! It is so good! I got it through a swap with psfh a few years ago before she moved (at least once as far as I know). It is vintage and I’m hoping I read the label right. It is so wonderful, so thank you pfsh.
I thought for sure Wegmans would have Luke Lobster stuff but eh, nothing. I even went to Customer Service to ask and they searched online and said nada. Of course who would have thought that Whole Foods would have it and indeed it does! I got the one type that’s on sale – the mac n’ cheese – which I then had for lunch. Yummy! Of course I also should have also have gotten the ravioli. I will see if it’s available.
Later tonight I will be going to a Haunted House Tour in New Brunswick. I will report back!
Have fun tonight!
That Haunted House tour sounds awesome, as is that vintage Egoiste!
I’m in Love les carottes, courtesy of pl67’s mention. It has notes that I like, but her confirmation of how good it is pushed me to get it! It’s so good. I know Robin has also mentioned it so that’s high praise indeed!
My goal is like many others here, just to smell great! Happy Friday everyone.
And you were the one who told me about your carrot oil concoction, very remniscent of SL Iris Silver Mist. Rooty madness!
Rooty madness! That’s fantastic..
I knew you were going to enjoy it!
You were right! 😊
Happy Friday, Gail!
Happy Friday to you too! I was extremely lazy today. The rain has held off for the day so far but it’s settling in soon for the weekend. It was definitely nice to be inside.
Yep, you smell great!
Aww, thank you Robin! It’s such a great scent; I’m so glad to have it!
I’m in Dzing! today which I believe was a partial bottle that I received in a swap during MUA days; it very well could have been from one of you!
This gives me a chance to thank all of you for your posts and recs and generosity! I also appreciate that we get to share bits of other parts of our lives here. I hope NST continues on for many years.
Oh — and I hope that if anyone smells it, they think it is interesting.
Echoing your love of Dzing! and gratitude for NST💕
Everything you said, springpansy🍁
hear hear
Yeppers!
I have been enabled by so many people here for many perfumes. I could have gone the Theorema route since I discovered it while I was reading a Perfume Posse post. But I went with Amouage Epic today.
My seizures have been under control long enough to wear I can learn to drive. So I got my temps today. Some of those questions were pretty though.
Congratulations on getting your temporary license and on being a Lyric enabler after hearing about your love of it and finally getting a sample📌🙏🌹
Congratulations Dawn!
That’s great news Dawn.
Congrats Dawn. & you smell marvelous.
Whoo hoo, temp license! Congrats!
That’s wonderful!
Congratulations Dawn! 🎉
I’m wearing Narciso White Cube for the cp. Enabler pin to Robin. I really liked it but wasn’t trusting my nose. I read Robin’s review and it confirmed that yes this was a good perfume. ( and of course they discontinued it.. it’s always the good one’s)
I’m off for the weekend and plan on cleaning and relaxing.
Well, you certainly smell wonderful! You get yet another enabler pin for my bottle. Enjoy your weekend, I hope it’s very relaxing.
Have a fun weekend!
Your nose and your judgement are perfectly sound! Remember it’s OK to like what you like.
Thank you for the vote of confidence! But you can count on them axing whatever I like 🙂
Cleaning and relaxing sound like great weekend goals, I will aim to do the same!
SOTD for today’s cp is Abel Laundry Day. Inspired by LesLiesse’s comments, the fact that one of the (very) few household chores I enjoy is doing laundry and hanging it out to dry, weather-permitting, April through October, as well as having many unused Amazon rewards’ points, I gave in to my impulse to a blind buy, a real rarity for me! I was not familiar with either the brand nor the scent, but after reading about both I was intrigued and am glad I gave in to that impulse. Although I’m surprised that middle notes of lime and passion fruit would be found in a scent so-named, it all works together nicely and I’m enjoying its vetiver base now. But since I’m a seasonal fragrance wearer, I anticipate this one will be tucked away until it really is spring again and I can once again hang those sheets on the line!
Despite not having the best weather, we were able to spend considerable time in nature the last 3 days in our mini-getaway replenishing our souls (+ I didn’t have to make dinner nor feed 😻😽😸). Going to relax much of the weekend and catch up on posts.
Happy weekend to all 🍁🍂🎃!
So glad the rest of the time went well, and that your blind buy worked out!
O-M-G, Laila! I’m « squee-ing » (does that work still exist online?) Thank you for giving me my first Enabler pin!!! I’m delighted you like it! I too bought a well-priced bottle on Amazon. It seems like they’re redesigning the bottle so the old design is a bargain. As for season, I’ve been spraying it whenever I want to feel optimistic, even in the depths of (LA) winter! Do enjoy basking in every spritz!
For the cp I went with Alahine or should I say “Alahiiiiiiiiiiiine” as popularized here by mals86, who we don’t get to see very much these days. But I still think of her way of saying it when my eyes fall on my decant or when I wear it. And I think I like it more every time I wear it, which is a nice thing!
Yesterday I wore Lea and thought of two other fans of it, madtowngirl and springpansy. The next time I wear it will truly finish off my bottle, as it looks like just drops are left. I will just it very much but try to console myself with my other almond perfumes.
PSA: Arquiste just released a 30ml size of their top ten sellers. I got an email about it from Ministry of Scent this morning and almost immediately made my first perfume purchase of the quarter and snagged Venice Rococo and Misfit. 💕 MoS is also now carrying the Little Paws candle that was announced here, the one with corn chip notes to mimic a dog’s paws.
Have you actually smelled those that you ordered from Ministry of Scent? I was thinking of blind buying Venice Rococo but haven yet.
Yes, I’ve used up samples of both of them. Venice Rococo is similar to Frederic Malle Lipstick Rose but to me wears a little nicer and more smooth. It’s very powdery, pretty, and sweet floral.
I thought it was probably like Lipstick Rose which I like but it’s a little too powdery for me. Thanks.
Alahiiiiine and Lea are both excellent choices! ❤️
I could have worn Alahine – I suppose I was enabled by half the commenters here to try it. I even sold my second generation bottle when I found an original formula bottle on Facebook. Definitely a love for me.
Happy Friday! Still feverish in bed.
Sotd FM Iris Poudre thanks to Kris.
Looking forward to reading over everyone’s comments when I feel better. Allo, a great CP idea!
You smell wonderful!!!
Feel better soon.
Thank you x 2!
Poor Lesliesse, feverish and feverish🤒
May the beauty of your Sotd and the love of NST make you feel much better soon💕
LesLiesse😊
🤗 It worked!
Bed rest and lots of fluids! Hope you turn a corner on this soon. 🤒
Finally feeling better Sunday night and wafting Moon Glory.
Hope you are better tomorrow LesLiesse!
Robin, don’t know if you saw my earlier comment but I was planning to wear Indochine. Instead I gravitated to Moon Glory where it’s pronounced honey notes matched my lavender tea w heavy honey for my throat. #bodywisdom
Perfect 🙂
Smelling wonderful again. Hope you feel better soon!
Thank you so. Finally am on Sunday night.
I’ve been gone for 3 days and haven’t read any past posts except today’s. Sorry you’re sick, hope you feel better soon.🤗
Laila, finally turned the corner. Thank you again for my Enabler pin!
My thinking behind this CP idea is that fragrance helps me play with different self states. As a therapist I try to recognize self/feeling state shifts in clients in the hopes of linking those states/making connections with different parts of themselves.
Sometimes when I wear perfume, I play this with myself and particular fragrances lend themselves to this game more than others.
When I wear POAL*, for example, I feel like I’m smelling different aspects of myself, including who I don’t want to be, am ambivalent about being, might be or might want to be. It reminds me that I/we are always a multiplicity of selves: the comforting but edgy rose, the smooth but complicated patchouli, the mystical and mystified incense, the tart berry and spicy spices.
And I’d like to think that if others noticed me wearing POAL, they might think that I…”smell of dark roses, mystical and intense” as the FM description suggests.
Many enablers in the POAL department, especially Kris and CobraRose🌹📌🌹🎁
I meant to add – thank you for sharing all of your fragrant desires and enablers this week!! 💐📌
I’d love to come across someone wearing POAL out here.
Me too!
This was a fun CP. Thanks for suggesting it and the enabler pin too😉
😘
I can relate to what you said about different facets of oneself and perfume.
Perfume can really be a self-extender/expander in the best sense (tempting to say “scents” but part of me resisted)😎
I loved your analysis. I know that when I choose a SOTD, part of me is thinking, Who do I want to be today?
Yes! And then we’re in conversation during the day with that person/those people.
I love your thought process behind the cp suggestion and definitely feel I get in touch the many aspects of myself through perfume.
Sun is back today, so Teflon kitty was able to get in a couple of sunbaths this afternoon. I had a broken night of sleep, so not quite firing on all cylinders today.
But! I had figured I wouldn’t see anyone from maintenance this week. I was hanging out in my PJ’s and had a mouth full of Listerine when there was a knock at the door. Guess who? 🤣😬
So the maintenance guy confirmed my suspicions that an electronic module might be on its way out, based on the error code he got from the washer. There’s an outside company that my apartment complex uses for appliance repair. Someone from there will be here on Monday. Hopefully I will not be caught in my PJ’s again.
The maintenance guy also apologized for not getting to my issue sooner. Seems that October is a very busy month for the maintenance crew…
SOTD = ZARA Leather Jardin. Hajusuuri and Kris are among the NSTers that I can recall singing its praises. It was my first blind buy purchase from ZARA. So at least a couple of people deserve Enabler’s Pins for it.
Yippee! Glad you like it.
Leather Jardin actually had a short-lived green note for me today!
Glad you are at least on the road to a working washing machine.
Right now the machine sorta, kinda works. Not willing to push it further, though.
Glad he showed up! Hopefully you will get a call first on Monday.
I’m just going to figure on a time window between 8am and 5pm, and be ready before then.
Bright 🌞 is out here today, too, although it remains quite cold. Now that we’re back, 😻😽 went outside onto the screened porch 4x today after being stuck inside for 3 days. 😸 rarely ventures onto the porch; ‘outside’ holds little appeal for her.
Teflon kitty has zero interest in “outside”. It usually means a trip to the vet! 🙀
Ha! Always when it was most inconvenient!
Sad thing is, I could have been dressed for company if the rental office had just said, maintenance is still doing apartment inspections until Friday. They don’t communicate worth a damn.
Glad the washer was looked at and that it’s now a work in progress. Yay for sunshine 🌞!
I do enjoy all the sunny days out here!
