Guerlain's Shalimar L'Essence, in a 1.65L bottle decorated by Franco-Brazilian artist Janaïna Milheiro and inspired by Frida Kahlo. "Adorned with flowers and feathers, the bottle vibrates with a flamboyant energy, echoing Frida Kahlo’s ‘floral portraits’. It’s an ode to the luxuriant landscapes and captivating soul of the Casa Azul, from which the Mexican artist drew an essential part of her creativity. With infinite meticulousness, Janaïna Milheiro arranges feathers and flowers one by one, infusing the timeless silhouette of Shalimar with an abundance of color. Each bottle is then sublimated by a traditional barbichage, a nod to the ancestral skills of the Guerlain workshops. A masterful fusion of substance and emotion." 66 were made, price unknown (probably if you have to ask...)
“If you have to ask the price, you can’t afford it” 🤣

Yep!
I think what I dislike about these presentations is that they aren’t meant for people who love perfume: they’re meant for people who want to spend a lot of money on something and then sell it on to someone for even more money. It’s for people who want things others can’t have. It could be a sculpture or a car or the lunchbox that Macaulay Culkin brought to school before he became famous, as long as it’s expensive and hard to come by. It’s not about perfumery: it’s about possession.
Agree, although (to repeat myself) if that funds the continued production of the Guerlain classics, I don’t much care.
