Sotd is Vacation by Vacation, THE QUEEN of sunscreen and summer holiday scented perfume. It is genius of them to add just a drop of banana in there to give it that creamy sweet oomph and make the coconut sing. I am seeing many more days of summer perfume because I woke up to a boiling 95! Summer seems like is not going anywhere.

Foot is feeling better, probably because I stayed off of it. In the remnants of yesterday’s Noontide Petals and about to get into the shower. I have a root canal at 10 so I will be commando until afterwards. I think Gris Charnel will be a nice choice for afterwards.

SOTD is Chanel Cuir de Russie parfum. Just felt like the right mood for today. I’ve come to really enjoy the subtlety of parfum application. Just a little dab dab and the slow unfurling of gorgeous scent.

Avignon from a recent swap (thanks for the swapmeet, Robin!) and many thanks to the lovely swapper. How have I not really tried it before? I had a tiny sample before but spraying it makes all the difference. I suppose this one could fit the CP – maybe misunderstood by someone for whom incense drowns out the other notes and conjures bad memories. For me this is more complex than that and really beautiful.

I’m testing Santal Boise from Atelier Versace which I guess is Versace doing a money grab with their version of L’’Exclusives or Privees. It’s supposed to be sandalwood, saffron and cypriol which sounds intriguing, but I’m getting no cypriol and only very mild creamy spicy woody (not sandalwood) and vanilla, which does not excite me or feel groundbreaking in any way. Especially at those prices.

So many places seem to have weirdly warm weather right now.
Work is pretty busy and stressful right now as our big annual event is coming up in a couple weeks, and I’m on the planning committee. 🙄 I needed something easy and calming today so went with Léa. I think I only get two more wearings out of my bottle, then it’s gone forever. I still haven’t found my perfect replacement with just the right blend of almond, vanilla, and white musk. I do have a decent number of almond perfumes though so they’ll have to make do.
I sure wish a long lost supply of Lea would be discovered somewhere… and sold inexpensively (as long as I’m wishing)!

Lovely, absolutely lovely! I do need to wear this more often. There’s nothing controversial about this. BTW, I have the OG, this one, and another one with the same name but enhanced with amber and oud.
So I was hoping to arrive no later than 9:45 for a 10:00 class but to my horror, there was tremendous TRAFFIC (!!!) near one of the train stations. Mind you, I was NOT going via 287 because I’m a local and know my way around town but this was unexpected! Anyway, I eventually managed to get near my destination but turned too soon. I did get to the classroom by 9:50ish so it wasn’t too bad. The class materials were pretty much the same as the class I took two years ago with some very minor changes.
The instructor came up to me before class started and asked if I wouldn’t mind just staying for 5 minutes after class so I said sure. As it turned out, it was a remedial class (😱) for poll workers at certain sites! He saved me the trouble of going to the class by asking a question and I assumed I passed because I did not have to show up and saved myself an hour!

Not sure my SOTD is unloved, but maybe a bit forgotten. I haven’t pulled my decant out in a long time either. Aedes Iris Nazarena. I keep wanting this perfume but $500 CAD is a lot. And then I put it on today, after a long time, and yeah, I think I must own this. (If they’d brought Oeillet Bengale back, that would win…but no.)

LUSH showergel review! Currently I am using Ghost In The Dark (along with 3 other things) in my shower. It’s supposed to be lemongrass-scented. I do get a bit of lemongrass, but smell much more in the way of unpleasantly funky notes like rice straw and stinky feet. YMMV

I wasn’t a fan of Ghost in the Dark sg either. I didn’t find anything super objectionable, but it was very meh. At least I got it half off during the Boxing Day sale.
Another beautiful 🌞summer day here! I celebrated its beauty in L’Occitane Terre de Lumiere, a warm honey and lavender fragrance inspired by a special time of day in Provence known as the Golden Hour: a short moment at dusk as the sun falls and the sky fills with golden and purple light. I love the image and I love the fragrance at this time of year.
A busy day here. We went to a yoga class in a distant suburb’s library that’s held weekly on Zoom but in person only once each quarter, stopped at a nearby bakery for some special treats, then had an early supper at a favorite bbq place also near there. Then I went to a library program in my town tonight featuring a local author talking about his new book. I’m pooped, going to tuck in with 😻😽🙀and a 📖.
