I am commando because I'm still pretty sick. I just finished a cup of Cascadia Breakfast from The Jasmine Pearl Tea Co and I've got a pot of Rose Hip + Hibiscus + cinnamon chunks brewing.

Hera, will you tell us a little more about your SOTD? I bought some Creeds years ago, from Les Ailes. I chose the large size of their tea rose scent, and I still have some, but sometimes I wonder what AE smells like.
AE is very special to me, i think I never smelled anything similar to it. A creamy, soft Incense, well blended, reminds me of the smell of Armenian churches, sits close to the skin. HTH

I’m not to the point of an SOTD yet, but in the spirit of the CP, on Sunday I wore MCMC Noble. Yesterday I wore 31, rue Cambon, which works for any season but I was wearing it because I had to go into work. (Three days this week. That’s 4.5 hours of commute I need back to work on my actual work, instead of sitting in long presentations.)
Oof what a long commute! Mine is nearly 3 hrs in total for a day and it is truly a slog.
To be fair, mine is half yours — 1.5 hours a day — but I need all 4.5 hours over 3 days to actually get work done this week!

Rotten weather here today. Working from home and comparing Chanel Comete on one hand and Lancome LVEB L’Elixir on the other. Splurged recently on the LVEB L’Elixir recently because of a good GWP. Nothing like the original, it’s a soft violet-leather on me. Still mulling a blind buy of Shalimar L’Essence but trying to decide if it will be redundant since I have plenty of MVP and Ode a la Vanille…Mexique.

If you adore vanilla, L’Essence is a good one to get. Like you, I have Shalimar MVP and the Mexique plus a whole bunch more (no judgement please 😇).
Congrats to pl67 on the promotion! I just realized that I was never promoted in my entire working life, so I can only imagine how exciting that must be.
The little Hermes coffret came yesterday, and I can report that Caleche Soie is not nearly as lovely as the edt version, Voyage d’Hermes is everything I hoped it would be, and the jury is still out on Barenia Intense. I think I’ll like it for fall, but it’s still in the 80s here so that one and Vetiver Tonka are waiting for much cooler weather.
I’ve never been promoted, either-but I’ve had loads of work dumped on me 🙂

Robin, did you figure out if you had Covid? Hubby and I just got our vaccines on Sunday with very few side effects. I can’t believe I have never had Covid. (Probably speaking too fast.) Hope you feel better soon.

Did you ever get the antibody test to make sure you never got it? It would be great to know if you were one of the lucky people who don’t get symptoms from covid.
And no, I am still testing negative, but this feels JUST like covid, and last time I had covid my son had it too, we had same symptoms, he tested positive and I tested negative throughout. So I might just not be shedding enough virus in the upper respiratory tract to test positive? Which is a thing even if not common.
So don’t know and will keep testing, mostly because I’d love to know when to get my next shot.
I never got the antibody test, but have received all the vaccines that I could from the beginning. Haven’t missed a one. My husband has had them all too. He did get Covid two days after the first vaccine, but he was around his mother who had it when he didn’t know.
Gotcha.
I have had 4 shots to date, and if I have covid, this is my 3rd time.
I’m working on a big project for work-our annual quality audit. I’m in Histiores d’Oranger, which I love and which doesn’t add to my irritation as I try to pull all these threads into a tapestry (so to speak). I do enjoy this work – just wish it was instead of usual workload, instead of on top of regular work load.
But we just had company burritos for lunch so here I go again-deep dive into the events of the past year.

I will admit it. I used to not like Shalimar but I have come full circle in the past few years. I was pouring over perfume content this weekend (as one does) and stumbled upon Kafkaesque’s review of Le Lion. When I tried Le Lion back in 2020 I thought…Shalimar in the front and Coromandel party in the back….but I was not a Shalimar convert at that point.
Fast forward to this past Sunday, I unearthed the last dregs of my Le Lion decant (I believe from the lovely hajusuuri) and slathered my forearms. What a beautiful beast! My original conclusion of a Shalimandel baby still stands but now I want more. 😅 🦁 It’s a shame they only sell the 1.2 oz. size in the Bespoke Set of 5 perfumes. Le Lion…le sigh. 😉

I am wearing Chloe Nomade Nuit D’Eygpt. It’s pretty sweet and would be great for Fall, it’s very humid here again though so I sprayed lightly.

Still putting the house back together after Saturday’s party and relaxing a bit finally. (Cats will just have to wait a bit longer for all their toys to be put back in place.) They survived being locked in the back of the house during the party as many of our guests visited them, petted them and said how beautiful they are and they loved it 😻😻😻

Rarely below 60 degrees during the day at the coldest in the city, mountains and high desert can be a lot colder. In the winter there’s usually local skiing about 2.5 hrs away.

It’s been raining here all day since the early hours on the morning. Definitely sweatshirt weather with temps right around 50. Teflon kitty has been camped out on her kitty cat heating pad today. But the 80’s are supposed to be back by the end of the week here.

I went to the first of my two financial webinars. The speaker was very dynamic, and also VERY LOUD so I can’t really hear myself think! The stuff she covered was just enough to give you a taste of what she and her firm can provide and she always says “if you qualify”. I am going to wait until I go to the 2nd one in early October before deciding what to do, if I do! I sat mext to this woman who looks like she is in her 50s, but of course I could be very wrong. She said she is currently working on a little job and she does not know how she’s going to retire. She currently gets disability even though she does not look at all disabled, but I have to be careful with assumptions. In any case, I really don’t think she “qualifies” although one never knows!
Gah, between a loud speaker and all those “fudge phrases”, aka if you qualify, I would not have the warm and fuzzies about that organization.
VERY LOUD is never a good sign, at least in my experience of financial planning.
