I'm in Frederic Malle Le Parfum de Thérèse for Damson (and because allo mentioned it last week). It's a simple name match...it does not smell purple to me at all.
Reminder: on 9/12, wear a fragrance that evokes one of Pantone's picks for the Autumn/Winter 2025/2026 NYFW Color Palette. Glossier You for Primrose Pink. Glossier You might be a brighter shade of pink, but it’s close enough and captures the feel for this color.

I’m in the absolute dregs of Passage d’Enfer. I thought I had a decant, and I did, but I have apparently used up almost the entire thing. Time for a full bottle perhaps. The dregs literally consisted of perhaps a drop or two. I unscrewed the top and emptied the tiny bit left onto my chest. It wasn’t enough to even run.
Good to the last drop? I do like PdE 🙂

Guys, if you like or looove the smell of 3in1 coffee and wished you could bathe in it or dreamed you could dive in a tray of tiramisu then you NEED to go to ZARA and grab a bottle of Gourmand Coffee. It is a hyperrealistic coffee scent that is oh-soooo-delicious and for a happy price of $35.90. Run and get it!
It’s also my sotd and it matches Hot Chocolate.
Color me intrigued! What is 3-in-1 coffee? And yes I would love a jacuzzi full of tiramisu to share w loved ones and friends, since bathing however delectable sounds a tad lonely!
Will see if I can find it at Zara today.

2 things I forgot: You smell fabulous in LPDT, Robin! And I smelled the most beautiful Sweet Peas today. The blossoms were a combination of Poppy Red and Winterberry. And they smelled SO good!!!

Coincidentally re: Elsa Schiaparelli birthday, I’m wearing the François NARS Polish color SCHIAP. Named for her signature pink. Old bottle but still love the color for the last vestiges of summer.
Looked up Schiap – gorgeous and a happy coincidence with her birthday.
Checked to see if any bottles are available on eBay but it’s sold out. I don’t know why they discontinued it. It’s a glorious shade to me.
I have one that is similar in color called Pompeii Purple by OPI.

Thought of you often this past week as we spent a lot of time driving in Kentucky horse country, and I know you would’ve enjoyed the gracefully undulating fences following the softly hilly land, the horses lazily grazing in the green, green fields, and the many horse-related activities available in the area. It was beautiful!

Divine Spirituelle today (just a sample) for Primrose Pink. It smells like a very (very!) soft rose with a little spice or incense, so I chose Primrose Pink primarily for being a soft pink. This is a gorgeous fragrance – fresh and delicate and elegant, and very quiet. I like quiet fragrances, but this might even be a bit quiet for me. It is so pretty, though. Now I want to explore more from Divine.
I agree, that’s a really nice pink. I am doing Primrose Pink today too. It would be nice to find a beautiful soft blouse in that color. 🙂

I’m doing something of a no-brainer by wearing Delina for Primrose Pink. Duh. Wait–I am not simply going on the color of the bottle! Delina is probably the most “girly” scent I own (I’m not very girly), and yet it’s got some complexity. Thus, like the Pantone color, it is sophisticated, and pretty far from Barbie bubble-gum pink (thank goodness!).
Since I have several little trips coming up in October and November I’ve been spending a bit too much time on Expedia and airline websites. We have a Southwest Airlines hub here in Houston but gosh, they don’t seem to have the same old cheap fares any more that I used to count on. Phooey. I’m gifting myself two nights down in Galveston next week, since it’s still really hot here (90 right now) and the hotel fares are very low in the off-season, but the water will probably be nice. If it looks like bad weather I’ll cancel and try again later. I went there for a funeral back in March but it wasn’t quite swimming weather yet then.
Southwest was always a rather expensive option for me. I think I have flown on them maybe once in the past 10 – 15 years?

I’m wearing my lightest rose perfume, Rose Alexandrie. I bought it about 10 years ago, it’s still in the Armani Privé line, but the juice is now light pink.
It’s a great match for Primrose Pink, and even more so if you look at pictures of the current bottle.

Le Parfum de Therese is one of my mother’s two signature fragrances (DelRae Debut is the other). I keep a little around to smell when I am missing her more than normal.
Today’s fragrance is Caron Nuit de Noel from one of the old black glass bottles with gold trim. I think the sharkskin inner box is packed away somewhere. Has anyone smelled any of the current versions of Caron perfumes? I wonder what the current Farnésiana, En Avion and Narcisse Noir smell like.
I can’t decide if it is more Damson or more Hot Chocolate.

Woot! After the disappointing LVEB Vanilla Nude, this was a refreshing change. Due to the bottle hiding somewhere, I have not worn this in a looooong while and so my 50mL bottle is still full.
In other news, it pays to pay attention to credit card charges. Also, helpful if one is willing to walk away from a subscription. My WSJ subscription was up for renewal and to my horror it was almost double what I am paying for the past 12 months! I called today and chose the option to Cancel Mu Subscription and was connected to a pleasant customer service rep. I was pleasantly surprised the entire time and got 2/3 off (yes!) the new subscription and this was better than what I thought I had to pay. Any now to remember a year from now so I don’t get snagged into the woe is me pattern …
Almost forgot … this goes with Winterberry due to color of the Sticly Cake font.
Also meant to say I was PLEASANT the entire time on the phone. I blame this on auto-correct.

I play that game with the New Yorker every year. Conde Nast seems not to have realized that the ’90s were 30 years ago and they still do the same crazy subscription tactics that newspapers used to: the scammy emails saying you’re getting 80% or nearly $400 off by renewing your subscription, when I’m pretty sure the subscription doesn’t cost $500. Then after you click through their glitchy site, you find out that the subscription actually costs $120 but they’re giving it to you for $90. So every year I sign up, go in and cancel autorenew right away, and play the same game in 12 months. Sigh. This year, I’m finally fed up with that game and we’ll see if we can do without…too many subscriptions these days.
I had a teeny-tiny one for $4.17 every single month and I decided to follow it up. It was a Real Simple subscription which I stopped in January 2024 but I somehow kept getting it. I got all my $s back other than for January 2025.

So I got some good news and some not-so-good news at Teflon kitty’s vet appointment this afternoon. The good news: her shoulder is healing up nicely, and her left ear no longer has any signs of infection. The no-so-good news: her right ear still has some beasties, so I was instructed to finish off the bottle of ear goop for that ear.
Teflon HATES the ear drops. She wasn’t a fan of the trip to the vet today, either. She was loudly singing the song of her people.
Avoiding the news this evening. ‘Nuff said.
SOTD = commando. Had to take a break after yesterday’s jasmine fest! But wearing Dame Perfumery Osmanthus body butter on my shins.

It’s a bit of a bummer.
SOTD is Miss Balmain. For me it’s a transitional fall scent, woody/earthy/leathery, especially nice layered over BBW’s Fall in Bloom body products, which add subtle notes of plum and wildflowers on a mossy base. Very compatible!👍 Though the box is pink and the bottle has pink accents, there’s nothing at all ‘pink’ about this scent, and I don’t really see a Pantone color that suits this, perhaps a deeper mossy green version of the Lemon Grass color?
We arrived home yesterday after a wonderful week away – inspiring music at the Fraley fest + several distillery and historic town visits. For the most part, we had great weather, and I was surprised arriving home on a warm, 🌞 afternoon how cold our house was – temps must’ve really come way down while we were gone but we opened all the windows and cleared out the cold. Nice warm non-humid weather in the next few days. 😻😽😸 tried to give us the cold shoulder for leaving them but that didn’t last long and we are now all happily reunited.❤️
