Chanel Bleu de Chanel L’Exclusif ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 12 August 2025 7 Comments

Chanel will launch Bleu de Chanel L'Exclusif, a new fragrance for men, next week. Bleu de Chanel L'Exclusif is a flanker to 2010's Bleu de Chanel.

Designed like an Extrait de Parfum, BLEU DE CHANEL L’EXCLUSIF is a complex fragrance with a spellbinding trail. Its woody notes, the emblematic signature of the collection, have been accentuated, lending the scent a warm quality. Leathery and ambery notes make this the most mysterious of all the BLEU DE CHANEL interpretations. An indefinable creation that fully reveals itself on skin.

[...] BLEU DE CHANEL imposes neither confines nor limits. It signifies a horizon line that is approached by a man who aspires to see beyond it. BLEU DE CHANEL L’EXCLUSIF is a fragrance for the man who contains the depth of infinite possibility within himself, who sees every boundary as an invitation to transcend it. A man who is on the ultimate quest. L’EXCLUSIF is a name that denotes an exceptional composition—a vision that is reflected in each olfactory, visual and tactile element.

Composed by In-House Perfumer Creator Olivier Polge, BLEU DE CHANEL L’EXCLUSIF is a concentration of raw materials, embodying the House’s expertise. Sandalwood, highlighted in all its glory, adds dimension. The enigmatic character of the scent manifests through notes of cistus labdanum. Finally, woody ambery notes bring contrast and vibrancy, resulting in a majestic interpretation that leaves a memorable impression and stays on skin as if magnetically drawn to it.

Chanel Bleu de Chanel L'Exclusif will be available in 60 ($205) and 100 ($275) ml Parfum.

Even for perfume writing that is a massive load of hooey. I’m actually impressed.

Ah, but that we could all contain “the depth of infinite possibility” within ourselves🤪…I’m on a quest alright, to separate the “hooey” from the quality😊

Oh, I do have the depth of infinite possibility! Not likely I will do anything with it, but still…

Chanel, like so many luxury brands, continues to march down the bifurcated path: A very high priced and high-hyped ‘exclusif’ to make the wealthy feel special and separate them from their money and a downmarket version of faux luxury to sell to the plebes to they can feel special too. I wonder what the cost differential is to produce Bleu vs Bleu L”Exclusif. I can’t wait for the comparison reviews as I *am* curious.

True enough, but the price is still better than what I expected…

A terrible name for a flanker, particularly coming from Chanel.

I supposed you’d have to like Bleu enough to pay for an Exclusif version. Not here, sorry. (A student gave Mr. Ockeghem a gift set of Bleu…the students giving gifts thing is still odd to me but I think it’s a cultural thing for some students…and, well, meh.)
