It's Tuesday and Midsummer’s Day (possibly, depending on where you are). Birthdays: Ambrose Bierce, Mary Wesley, Anita Desai, Jeff Beck. What fragrance are you wearing?
It's going to be another sweltering day here, but I'm still taking points in a dab of Hermès Eau de Néroli Doré.
Reminder: 6/27 is National Orange Blossom Day...you know what to do! (This is another repeat.)
And for those of you who like to plan ahead, see Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2025, where I'll try (but usually fail) to have the next five or six weeks mapped out in advance.
Note: top image shows the Bernardaud Terra Rosa Hot Beverage Server ("The Terra Rosa collection that takes you on a journey from the Pink City to the confines of the Atlas Mountains"; $485), and just below, to make up for last week's complete lack of teapots, the Vista Alegre Coralina Teapot ("From the Coralina collection, featuring 24K gold accents"; $255). Both at Bloomingdales.

Hello.
Love orange blossom. So I will do a week of it.
Sotd is YSL Libre Le Parfum.
Have a good week everybody!
Glad we picked a favorite note!
I could easily do 2–3 weeks of orange blossom.
SOTD is Jo Malone Orange Blossom.
I had to wear something light today since I went to the dentist. While it’s probably the lightest OB scent in my wardrobe, it’s also very pretty and natural-smelling.
Glannys I would thoroughly enjoy seeing a list of your Orange Blossom fragrances if you want to share!
Here you go!
Strong, prominent orange blossom
Houbigant Orangers en Fleurs
Serge Lutens Fleurs d’Oranger
L’Artisan Seville à l’Aube
Jo Malone Orange Blossom
By Killian Sweet Redemption
Hermes 24 Faubourg
Penhaligon’s Castile
Orange Blossom/Neroli?
Tom Ford Neroli Portofino
Lush Big
Juliette Has a Gun Gentlewoman
Guerlain Neroli Outrenoir
Not quite (or not enough) orange blossom/Week 3 material
Isabey La Route d’Emeraude
L’Artisan La Chasse aux Papillons
Caron Acaciosa
Ormonde Jayne Tiare
Guerlain Aqua Allegoria Nerolia Vetiver Harvest (I haven’t tried it yet, but Guerlain mentions “orange blossom honey” as a note)
Mugler Cologne
Thank you for taking the time Glannys! Quite a collection! Several are on my Try list: SL fleurs d’oranger, L’artisan Séville a l’aube, & Lush Big.
Oh, and if I wanted to stretch it, I suppose I could also add Guerlain Terracotta and Dior Tendre Poison to week 3 material. Orange blossom is/was listed in them, even though I can’t say I detect it confidently.
So would I!
See above!
That one is still one of my favorites, so I know you smell fabulous!
Hope your visit to the dentist was an uneventful one and easy on your wallet.
Thanks, it was just a cleaning. But I still need a couple of fillings.
Another sweltering day today. I found myself bottle of Kyoto and decided to wear that today.
It’s just crazy hot here. I am not sufficiently heat adapted.
I’m wearing Ginger Piccante today. I love the brightness of ginger on a summer day.
Perfect then!
I’m being perverse, and wearing Dans Tes Bras in the heat 🙂 We were supposed to be sweltering here, but I think that’s past. coming into work there was a spectacular dark blue sky, and there were strands of dark blue connecting the water to the sky. Those kinds of clouds always mean weather-we could be getting anything.
There’s never a bad time to wear Dans Tes Bras.😊 You smell fabulous.
Thanks Daniel-I love that we love the same scent 🙂
I’m in SMN Eva, which I always thought had orange blossom but now find that’s wrong. Way back when I first fell down the rabbit hole, I ordered a sample set from STC, and in my memory Eva was described by them as just the best orange blossom scent ever. Flash forward to this morning when I discovered that (a) it has bergamot, vetiver, nutmeg and black pepper but no OB, and (b) it has fallen off of both the STC and Lucky Scent websites. I can’t find evidence that it was reformulated or discontinued (it is still on the SMN website at least). So I’m not CP-compliant after all … but I smell great nonetheless.
I’ve been intrigued by Eva for years, and never managed to try it. Bet you smell great, though!
It’s one of my top ten favorites … maybe even top five. 💕💕
Yep, you smell great!
Didn’t know the CP, but started the day with Aqua Allegoria Flora Nerolia. Excellent start, gotta say. It’s a lot, and that’s ok. In addition to the neroli and orange blossom, we’ve got loads of jasmine. I haven’t historically had big love for jasmine fragrances, but there’s nothing gained in resisting change. Aging has it’s advantages, and one seems to be that I no longer get mothball with indoles (or, heaven forbid, I can’t smell what’s still there, whoops).
Tea: Republic of tea Orange Blossom, which is orange blossom in white tea.
Interesting with the moth balls! This is what turns me off from jasmine-heavy perfumes.
I’m betting your tea tastes good.
I have your Tea of the Day! It is a good one.
I am wearing Fragonard Fleur d’Oranger edt, from Paris. Because I like BWF scents, I have lots of choice for this week.
Oh, i will have to break out my sample
I’m wearing Flor y Canto from Arquiste. I often confuse it with Infanta en Flor (understandably, I hope), and the latter is actually the one that has orange blossom. Flor y Canto is a honking big tuberose scent that is somewhat counteracted by the copal note. The BEST orange blossom of this line is L’Or de Louis, which I wish I’d bought when I had a good deal on it. I’m still going to add it to my collection as soon as I can.
I keep meaning to try the L’Or de Louis…eventually I might get to it 🙂
Its hell’s front porch today, or hotter than satan’s cat..(I can think of many of these sayings) – stay cool for those in the heat wave.
Orange Blossom is one of my favorite notes, I start that day misting my face with orange blossom water. I got loads of it in Morocco. I also remember eating these cookies there with my tea that had orange blossom in them- I should find a recipe!
Making a summer lentil salad for dinner tonight-it’s too hot to cook!
Robin-love the tea pot today!
I actually like both of the teapots, and I’m not usually an orange person.
Luckily both way out of my teapot budget 🙂
Years ago I had a friend who used to say “hotter’n the hubs o’ hell”.
love that one!
LTSG, please give us more of these sayings! Loved it 😆! Orange blossom cookies sound utterly delightful- hope you find the recipe!
I am looking for that cookie recipe- yet who wants to bake when it’s hotter than Satan’s armpit?!
Satan’s armpit!?! 😆😆. Actually it’s only 80 here so I could do some baking for my cousins getting together next week.
Sounds like somebody has been watching Stephen Colbert!
LOL! “Hell’s front porch” sounds like something my Dad would have said.
The weather is like living in southeast Texas again (hi Calypso and Coumarin.) The overnight low was 79F and a thunderstorm just roared through, leaving even more of a steambath in it’s wake. Positive news is that my wavy hair likes humidity and curls like crazy, which is fun and better than blasting the hair dryer.
Another day, another Chanel with orange blossom, Allure edt, just a quick spritz.
I stopped at a favorite thrift after a doctor’s appointment this morning (routine.) There was a perfume bottle shaped like Ariana Grande Cloud but all glass, faceted and iridescent. Couldn’t find it in a quick search on my phone (and of course they stuck the price tag on the bottom of the bottle) so I didn’t get it.
Cool thoughts to those in the heat wave 🥶
It is so hot I basically have brain fog. Or half of my brain cells have simply melted away 😉
Not really relevant, but was walking by the produce store today and one lady looking at the watermelons out front says to the other lady….you smell great what is your perfume, and the answer was “Chanel Mademoiselle”. (You know I slowed down to hear)
Robin, that’s a great story to share. I think it’s great when women compliment each other. It’s not like it’s a salesperson trying to get you to buy or anyone else with ulterior motives. It’s genuine appreciation given freely.
I like it too! Plus, very rare anybody is wearing noticeable perfume in my small town.
Oh, I love that 😊
You smell fantastic AND your hair looks great!
Ha! I do smell great but got caught in a brief rain shower this afternoon and my hair is looking pretty squirrelly lol.
Some of those heat indices (aka Real Feel temps) back East are scary. Be safe out there, folks!
Yes ditto! Stay hydrated!
In the Classy Lady Beige today. Since orange blossom does not work on me I will be considering this to be the Orange cp this week, and behave accordingly on Friday…
I think that’s a wise plan.
I currently only have access to one orange blossom in my collection and I will wear that one on Friday.
I finished my sample of Oriza L Legrands Marions-Nous which is a gorgeous aldehydic floral with very noticeable ylang ylang.
That sounds nice, I do like ylang.
Inspired by Glannys regularly embracing the CP early, my Sotd is Jones Road Shower-
Top notes are Grapefruit and Sea Notes;
middle notes are Neroli and Orange Blossom;
base note is Patchouli.
I really like the makeup (Bobbi Brown’s new line since her non-compete clause expired with Estée Lauder who own her eponymous line), but got the fragrance to feminize a bottle of John Varvatos Artisan, which the Macy’s algorithm seduced me with at a good price. Will wear them layered later in the week I think.
Robin, I was totally coveting that gorgeous teapot ready to do some retail therapy until I saw the price. Thanks for including pertinent info so we don’t have to research, yet can savor the beauty of them both!
I love teapots and I love the color orange. 🍊 🫖 so pretty.
I love the color orange too, and that tea is beguiling to me. Bernardaud makes gorgeous china. I bet the matching plates and cups are equally beautiful.
Didn’t realize Jones Road had scents.
Scent. Just Shower, but I’m confident she’ll make more.
IDK. Bobbi Brown did have a series of 7 perfumes earlier, though…
She likes one word names like Beach, which smelled like Sea & Ski suntan lotion to me.
I almost prefer it when the teapots are expensive, that means I can enjoy the picture and never think about it again 🙂
😆 great insight Robin!
Hi fragrant friends,
Totally non compliant in Sidra Wood today. From Bois Imperiale to Chloe Cedrus to Sidra, I am one with Mr. Bisch these past months.
A win !! – have been to gym 25 times in last 32 days.
For those of you in the heat, please take care.
Fragrant friends! I’m totally copying that one apsara! Gym for 25 out of 32! Bravo! Do you have a gym appropriate fragrance? Or do you avoid applying before a workout?
You are kicking butt with the gym! Go you!
25 out of 32!! I am trying to go 4 days a week and mostly managing except when they close (I hate it when the gym is closed) but boy you have me beat.
I enjoy a surprising amount of time with Mr. Bisch, too. I like Estee Lauder Radiant Mirage, Angel Nova and Hibiscus Mahajad by Maison Crivelli.
I’ve got quite a few perfumes with orange blossom or neroli notes. I’m starting with a favourite, 24 Faubourg.
goodness yes! That’s a gorgeous perfume with lovely sparkle in the top. I love it, tho the current version gives me headache. I dream of finding a vintage-ish bottle someday that may be easier for me to wear.
I thought that I had more fragrances with orange blossom. Thankfully Fragrantica identified a few for me.
I’m in Lush Big, from the black Forum bottle dating back to 2012. I also have the Big shampoo; it can give you va va voom thickness, probably from the salt! I need to use it again soon.
Wow, that’s an oldie!
I’ve got a fair amount of orange blossom, especially in my samples. Today I’m in L’Artisan Histoire d’Orangers, which I got a mini bottle of in the Neiman Marcus Advent calendar a few years back. Pretty much straight up orange blossom, which is nice on a muggy day. First clear day in a while, but I’m waiting for the rain to blow back in tonight, in hopes we’ll have more normal summer days after that.
Very nice on a muggy day!
We have one more day of brutal heat to live through, supposedly, then back to normal.
Sekushi no 7 Supreme
Never heard of that before. What’s it like?
sotd = Vanille Galante
It’s warm here today so VG is wafting hints of banana and caramel and
maybe some rum. Vanilla has many facets. Yummy! 😋
Oh nice!
I was surprised I have enough orange blossom to almost do a week. Today is Dame Perfumery Passion fruit, orange blossom and vetiver.
The heatwave here is supposed to end tonight with some showers. It’s still going to be in the 80’s though. ( not complaining!)
You of the summer is great camp …
Glad to hear that the heat wave is breaking for you!
SOTD = L’Artisan Parfumeur Seville a l’Aube
Orange blossom! Love it! 🧡
It is too darn hot that I have itchy heat blisters even though I was only outside for a few short minutes. 🥵
Hope the forecast I heard with less hot for you all on Thursday is right!
Thank goodness!
Oh that’s awful about the blisters! I hope they heal soon.
Maybe blisters was too harsh … it was more like a heat rash and I tried so hard not to scratch!
I will definitely wear that this week!
And ouch. I don’t even know what those are but they don’t sound good.
More like a heat rash than anything else.
Gotcha.
I’m so sorry about the heat blisters. How are you treating them? B
I took the Costco equivalent of Benadryl. I was going to use hydrocortisone cream as well but thought I shouldn’t double up.
Very wise. Hope you’re feeling better by now.
I have more perfumes with orange blossom than I thought. My search has uncovered 4 bottles. We shall see how many of them I wear this week.
Pleasant temps again today, but lots of weather alerts and notifications on my cell phone this afternoon. Got a couple hours left of a Severe Thunderstorm Watch.
SOTD = Roberto Cavalli EdP, in the gold box. Got African orange blossom and benzoin in this. Good stuff!
I’ve never tried Roberto Cavalli. I’ve been tempted to blind buy though.
This one was released back in 2012. I had a sample of it that disappeared rather quickly, so that told me to get a FB.
Delrae Mythique today. I was so happy to get a decant in a swap here awhile back. It has mandarin, according to Basenotes, so I’m inching my way to Friday’s orange blossom. I’m out of town but brought a bag of samples with me and this is one. All sympathy to those struggling with the awful heat domes. Stay safe.
Oh yum, that was a good one.
Tea today was Twinings Oolong, enjoyed in the heat. I tried also to enjoy the heat, as I had to get out in it some or else do without a garden. We had so much rain that everything is behind except the weeds! I took long breaks on the shady side of the house and drank two liters of water in 5 hours. I’ve been working through the sample set of the Aphorismes collection by Dominique Ropion. My short take is these are lovely perfumes with great sillage and staying power. I like Crazy Garden the best and agree with a Fragrantica reviewer who was reminded of Dune. Innocent Tuberose is also very nice and much my style. But I did not immediately consider an FB for any of them at the price range, like I did with Comete. The main thing I am delighted with is how they all last for many hours. In other news our new kitten and three-year-old cat are getting along great. We isolated the kitten in a bedroom and did a slow introduction (partially because the kitten had not been vet checked). However, they’d already been playing slappy paws under the door by the time they met. The kitten checked out 100% healthy on Monday, got his shots, and is scheduled for his neutering. They are so cute playing and snuggling!!!
Yay for a good, new kitten vet checkup!
So glad they are getting along!
