The end of an era

Posted by Robin on 17 June 2025 3 Comments

Could it be the end of an era for one of beauty’s most storied names?

Buzz is swirling that Coty Inc. is looking for buyers, but it would not be a one-and-done deal, according to multiple industry sources.

Seem to remember in my dim & distant past, that when I had exhausted the supply of Pretty Peach my aunt insisted on sending me every year for Christmas & birthday (!), & I was a little bit older (although still a schoolgirl), I popped into a local chemist’s shop & treated myself to a bottle of L’Aimant, my first grownup fragrance & the first I bought for myself. I blame that excursion for turning me into a fragrance junkie in the ensuing years, although it’s just one of my three indulgences, the other two being wine & earrings!

      Pretty Peach to L’Aimant! Nice.

I doubt Coty will cease to exist or have fragrances under their own name.

I think I was getting a little too much of a teenager a couple of years before the PP onslaught stopped! I do hope you’re right about Coty, though, Robin. I still have a sniff of L’Aimant if I ever see it.
