A quick PSA: the splitmeet will start on Saturday, April 26.
Happy Easter, everyone! It's time to fill your (fantasy) Easter basket:
1. You can pick one perfume, new or old: what is it?
2. And you can have one other scented product (a candle, a body lotion, anything): what is it?
3. Your favorite candy?
4. And any random present you'd like the Easter bunny to bring you.
Note: top images shows Easter chocolates from À la Mère de Famille in Paris, via their Facebook page.
Let’s see…
1. Not sure if I’m picking a perfume to get or to wear for Easter, but if I were home, I would go with AG Le Chevrefeuille.
2. One other scented product: more Ursa Major Golden Hour Recovery Cream (not super fragranced just smells softly outdoorsy to me). ♥
3. I love Fran’s chocolate covered Salted Caramels.
4. Aside from world peace, etc., I’d like the Easter Bunny to bring me a bottle of SL Un Bois Vanille.
Hope everyone has a lovely weekend!
You’re picking one to get from the Easter bunny, in your basket!
Hope your weekend was great 🙂
SOTD Serge Lutens De Profundis.
1. Tomorrow, I will wear Diptyque L’Eau Trois. A pretty incense scent that I received this week from a generous NSTer. Right on time to celebrate Easter, and I am really thankful for it.
2. Any of the Oriza L. Legrand bar soaps.
3. Everybody knows: PEEPS! Yesterday, I walked to CVS, and I was lucky to find the Rice Krispies Treats flavor. It tastes like the cereal, and I like that it is not too sweet. I grabbed two packs and two of the Root Beer flavor, which is one of my favorites. I will enjoy them greatly with my coffee served in a very cute PEEPS mug that another generous NSTer sent me last year. I love it and I am also very thankful for it!
4. Health is the first and more important gift that Easter could bring me. But I would be even happier if it also drops a travel size of Oriza L. Legrand Reve d’Ossian. I finished my small decant last year and I miss it a lot.
Happy Easter! 🐇🌷🐣🪻🐰🌻🐥
I haven’t seen any new Peep flavors here. I did see giant Peeps but they didn’t look very appealing.
Happy Easter Pl67 🐇🌼🌻
I saw doggie and kitteh Peeps for companionship…
Kitteh peeps?
Ha! There were peep-shaped toys meant for play, all on sale!
Thank you, Lillyjo! 🌷
The only new flavor at the store was the Rice Krispies Treats. I read that the new releases for Easter were Tropical Punch, Cinnamon Churro, and Breyers Cookies & Cream. I didn’t see giant Peeps, but that would be too much sugar for me.
I bought peeps for my kids
Enjoy! 😀
CVS by me has a crazy assortment of Peeps branded stuff, from PJs to silly toys to every variation of the treat you could imagine. It’s really quite something to see the power of this brand. I do want the PJs.
The Duane Reade near me was so scarce for candy I had to go to CVS and other stores.
Also, everything now is behind glass and plastic and locked. 🔒
My CVS didn’t have much Peeps merchandise left. I saw cats and dogs toys, make-up brushes, computer mouses and a waffle maker that was very cute. But those are not really my kind of stuff. However, I would love the PJs!
Oh, yes to O L. L. soaps!
Happy Easter.
Thank you, Aurora!🪻
Those soaps are divine! So soft, creamy, moisturizing and beautifully scented.
I saw both the Churro and Rice Krispies Treat Peeps at my grocery store earlier this month. Thought of you and lillyjo.
Reve d’Ossian is wonderful stuff!
This year, I wasn’t able to go to different places to look for the Churro flavor, but I hope the have it for next Easter.
I love whatever I have tried from Oriza L. Legrand. That is one of my favorite brands. Reve d’Ossian is amazing.
Hello from Florence! I had planned to check in more frequently, but we’re out and about a lot and I’m all out of my usual routine. I hope all you NSTers are well.
I’d like the Easter bunny to bring me some more money – I’ve spent rather a lot in the last few days, including on some perfumes that I’ll need to confess to Donatella in a couple of months 🙂 .
Yesterday, I bought Vero Profumo Rubj VdE from Campomarzio and today I bought Arte Profumi Samharam from 1’O perfumery. I don’t think I should ask the Easter bunny for anything more, and I couldn’t choose anyway, there are so many perfumeries and so much perfume here!
Florence is a lovely city, we’ve had four days here, and are catching the train to Nice tomorrow.
What a lovely trip, enjoy every minute! Looking forward to hearing about your new acquisitions.
Donatella would want you to spend the money. I just know this.
Florence…sigh
So lovely.
Enjoy!
Each time you spray those you will remember your trip and where you bought them and it will bring joy, which is priceless. Perfume travel memories are wonderful. Enjoy your new bottles, Gaynor.
So glad you are having a good trip, and one that requires confession 🙂
Happy Saturday NST! Sotd Prada Infusions de Mimosa from a generous NSTer!
1. Diorissimo in the black & white houndstooth bottle for that glorious spring when I was 19 and a freshman in NYC
2. Lush Chocolate body lotion. I bought two bottles in February prior to a mtg with our CPA and her asst on a rainy day (where was that damn rain BEFORE the LA fires, but I digress). They both were so down I gave away both bottles to them to cheer them up which it did!
3. I’m more of an ice cream Iover than candy, but I’d have to say Teuscher Dark Chocolate Champagne Truffles where one is enough. There aren’t a lot of things I can just eat one of that I enjoy 😆
4. I would like a Time Machine to go back to last Easter dinner so I’ll be more present. It ended up being our last family dinner where my uncle was alive and I was way too focused on that damn leg of lamb I was roasting and not enough on the people I love!
Wishing all 3 days of making happy spring/ fall (I see you Southern Hemisphere!) memories!
#4 – yes & amen!
The importance of being present on the right things is a challenge for me too…always room for improvement.
Although pulling off an Easter meal is no easy feat and I’m sure that blessed your uncle and family deeply.
🤗😘
You’re a generous soul.
Your No 4, Spirit of Easter Past🪺but I hope this one will bring you some joy too and not too much cooking, so you can enjoy it fully.
Aurora, that’s very kind of you to say! Thank you! 🤗😘. Mr Engineer is cooking us lamb chops as I’m too exhausted to cook. I promised my aunt a big welcome home/ belated birthday for mom/ Easter dinner when we can get her home 🙏🤞. Not going to the hospital tomorrow as I need a day off.
That was so kind of you to gift your lotions. I hope you get some more.
I’ve been buying two of things for awhile, then look for the opportunity to share it with someone special or in need of cheering up. That’s how I was able to share my second travel size of YSL Libre L’Absolu Platine and that Shea butter Eucalyptus-Lavender hand lotion. You were so warm to me from Day One lillyjo, I really appreciated it!
That is a great idea, LesLiesse. Lovely of you!
🌸🌼🌺
Just off a 🐴. So nice to be riding once a week again.
1. Easter bunny can bring me Chance Splendide
2. Salt and Stone Rose Oud wash
3. Dark Chocolate hollow bunnies
4 Basket off all my favorite books, a cute fascinator for a Derby party and a vacation
Happy Easter 🐰 to those who celebrate.
We are #1 twins.
I am sampling Splendide again today. It lifted my spirits on first spray.
Hi NST! Hope everyone is doing well.
I’m wearing Stash body lotion and hair mist, with a couple spritzes of the perfume. It was 80F last evening and 46 this morning, yikes.
1. I wish I would have bought a bottle of Imaginary Authors Dipped in Chocolate, and the one they released on April 1st as well. Missed opportunities.
2. Chanel No 5 body oil.
3. From my local candy shop: the Charlie Chaplain. Milk chocolate with salted Spanish peanuts, a touch of toasted coconut and a creamy marshmallow center, the chocolate and marshmallow made from scratch. I’ve probably described these before but they are creamy, crunchy, sweet and salty all at once. Heavenly.
4. I need new shoes for warm weather that aren’t sandals. Cute flats but with support. My terrible, horrible, no good, very bad feet are hard to find affordable shoes for.
Report back if you ever find your #4!
Ringthing, gosh your candy sounds scrumptious! Spanish peanuts are very delicious but I never seem to see them. Coupled with coconut and HOMEMADE marshmallows. Wow!!!
Same! Glad I do NOT have any of those handy…
SOTM is Omnia Ambra. And, in a little bit, banana bread. Meanwhile, my poll responses:
1. You can pick one perfume, new or old: what is it?
Hermes Doblis. As always. It’s a hopeless dream, but hey — the Easter Bunny is magical, right?
2. And you can have one other scented product (a candle, a body lotion, anything): what is it?
A rosemary bush for my back yard.
3. Your favorite candy?
Caramels, in almost any form. Chocolate-coated with sea salt being the front-runner.
4. And any random present you’d like the Easter bunny to bring you.
He brought it yesterday! I’ve been haunting the evil bay for years waiting for a particular discontinued Coach shoulder bag, in decent shape, in black, and for a decent price to come along, and the stalking finally paid off.
I like your candy choice
+1
Sea salt chocolate caramels are so special.
Sun warmed rosemary plucked from the bush smells wonderful!
SOTD will be Duelle, I think. I ended up in the ER last Sunday and have been off kilter all week. Nuff said…
I would like Bois Imperial to have a lotion – not just a hand wash product.
The bunny we speak of can bring me SMN Incenso or an FB of Cardinal.
Candy would be gaz from Iran or fresh sliced halvah from Turkey.
Apsara my grandmother would give us something similar to Halvah when we were kids. It might actually be the same but different region. It was a real treat!
I hope you are back on kilter soon.
Thank you lilyjo!
More on kilter today.
My dad loved halvah and often brought some home when we were kids in NY.
I do think much of my love of halvah was watching my dad enjoy it so much.
Living in LA its’ easy to find.
Halvah, so good!
Loving Seed + Mill! Wonderful Halva and if you go to their store in Chelsea Market/NYC they do halva soft serve. Wow! Will change your life! 🍦
That sounds amazing, floragal.
Soft serve halvah! who knew?
All week! Sending you healing vibes, love halvah, available from the many Turkish stores in the UK.
Thank you Aurora!
Feel better soon!
Thank you PL67!
Apsara, I am sorry for your health issue and I wish you a speedy recovery. & you smell marvellous in Eau Duelle.
Thank you DeniseH!
Glad you are feeling more on kilter apsara!
Thank you Robin!!
1. You can pick one perfume, new or old: what is it?
Crabtree & Evelyn Extract of Mysore Sandalwood
2. And you can have one other scented product (a candle, a body lotion, anything): what is it?
I am just a perfume person…
3. Your favorite candy?
I like Almond Joy bars. I wish I could find one made with a better quality chocolate and with more almonds on top. I am sure someone, somewhere, makes one.
It’s a lovely day and I am packed and ready to leave tomorrow evening. I’ll clean tomorrow so the house will be nice when I come home. Today I’m wearing Byredo Pulp.
Safe travels.
Have a wonderful trip!
Have a safe and fun trip!
I hope your trip goes smoothly and you have a fabulous time
Gosh, why don’t I clean before I go on a trip?
Have a wonderful time.
The C&E Mysore Sandalwood was so good. My family would spray it on our fake Christmas tree (I have no idea why we didn’t use a pine scent). So that, mixed with homemade clementine pomanders, is forever the smell of Christmas to me.
SOTD = Prada Infusion de Rhubarbe
(In reporting back mode …)
Nice, as in, nice. If someone were to drop this on me and say wear it, my first thought would have been grapefruit; however, through the power of name suggestion plus giving it more time, I can now smell the rhubarbe. For what it’s worth, I hope it doesn’t last too long because I have an evening family event! Verdict: The travel spray is plenty.
https://www.instagram.com/p/DIo4bikxWw-/?igsh=MTFqcnUwbWRod2Z4bw==
On to the poll!
1. Roberto Greco Rauque
2. A Whiff of Waffle Cone (still available, I checked 😇 but low-buy saved me some $$s)
3. Hmmm, perhaps the Root Beer peeps – I haven’t found them yet
4. Responses back from NY State and NJ Transit. I am not hoping for much, if at all, but it sure would be nice to hear back once and for all!
Have fun tonight!
Thanks. It was a wonderful, impromptu get-together!
Good luck with the family get together!
It was fun for sure!
I’m sampling Caswell-Massey Almond EDT, which is lovely and easy to wear.
Candy-wise, and for Easter, I adore Brach’s spiced jelly beans. Flavors include: peppermint, cinnamon, ginger, spearmint, and clove. So yum! And who can resist Cadbury mini-eggs?
We have a tradition of purchasing an Easter basket assortment of candy from our local chocolate shop. It’s pricey, but worth it, and fun to hunt through the fake grass for treats.
🐰
Courreges Eau de Liesse has a pronounced almond note you might enjoy floralgal!
OMG! I remember those spiced Brach’s jellybeans from my childhood!
Pears (from Belgium, frozen mango and yogurt smoothie
1. Today Lush Shade with its sustainable sandalwood from West Timor which needs the trade
2. I would really like a bottle of Heaven can wait as my single Malle, Noir Épices is feeling lonely but what I really need ATM is industrial strength medicated lip balm
3. The Easter eggs from Parisian pâtisseries made of praliné, so smooth and nutty poured into a real eggshell
4. Come any holiday and I feel a bit homesick, so 3 days in Paris, I never want to stay very long.
Felt stronger today and started spring cleaning on this fresh (15C) day.
Uh-oh – I think “praliné” is my new favourite French word…
😀
I’m glad you are feeling stronger today.
Thank you Lillyjo, after all last week feeling subpar, it’s a relief to be ‘normal’, still splitting medication (lisinopril) though.
Happy to hear that you are feeling better today.
Thank you Jalapeno, glad I can be more active, continuing spring cleaning, I started with the kitchen but it’s not finished.
Coucou ma chérie ! We can’t have perfume bottles feeling lonely can we? Delighted to hear you’re feeling better. Eyebrows are up that you chose to spend your newfound strength cleaning instead of more TLC. Take great care of yourself Aurora!
Merci dear Leslie, I’m refraining from purchase so far😀.
Oh good, so glad you got the meds worked out!
Thank you Robin, so much better now. Also, I remember you have a sad anniversary at the end of April, especially thinking of you.
Aurora, thank you so much, but I try hard not to keep those anniversaries in my brain…so no need to mention it again! But I do appreciate anybody thinking of me, and it is likely that my family will say things too even though I have asked them all not to 🙂
I consider it a blessing that I am bad at remembering dates. I forget birthdays too! The only ones I consistently remember, to the date and not just to the month, are my mother’s and my son’s.
Thank you Robin, I understand and certainly don’t want to add to sadness; you know, I’ve never been to my mother’s grave and have had to do a lot of explaining to my family for 40 years, we all deal the way we can.
Thank you for understanding! It is so true that everybody deals with grief in their own way.
Hi all! SOTD is Bond No. 9 Eau de NY, my aunts’s bottle.
1. Hermes Amazone EDP (vintage)
2. Chanel No 19 Body Oil or Cristalle EDT.
3. Salted Caramels – I’m making some for an Easter gathering tomorrow. Recipe at the bottom of my comment.
I’m also making a cake, with lemon curd filling and Mascarpone frosting.
4. Better health, my right knee is acting up, I’m praying that I don’t have a meniscus tear.
Sea Salt Caramels recipe:
https://12tomatoes.com/sea-salt-caramels-video/
Right with you with your question 2 choices
I’m all about green scents right now!
Wow that cake sounds good!
Ooooooooooof. I sure hope you don’t have a meniscus tear either!
Wearing Etro Gomma from a generous NSTer (thank you!) and chiming in verry late on this past week’s CP. Gomma means rubber in Italian (I think). It is a very soft floral leather and I am pairing it with a visit last year to a non-UNESCO but awesome site – the former FIAT car factory in Turin, Italy, a 7-story building that was renovated by architect Renzo Piano into a mall, technical institute, movie theatres, museum (really great one, cleverly laid out with pull-out drawers of historic photos, ads, newspaper articles, etc and i’m not even interested in cars), cafes, and a rooftop park with lots of public art where the test racetrack used to be. Yes FIAT tested its cars on the roof (perhaps due to trade secrets?) and it’s a joy to walk the former racetrack with its banked curves and see the mountains and the city spread out below. Happy Easter and last day of Passover, everyone! As to the poll:
1 – The Easter Bunny is bringing me a Palais Royale bottle of Serge Lutens Daim Blonde.
2 – I really liked Honeymania bath gel from The Body Shop. Simple and great-smelling. I think it’s d/c though but that’s what I’d get.
3. Milk chocolate-covered mint patties from See’s Chocolates.
4 I’d like the Easter Bunny to bring good health to everyone on this site who was struggled this past year.
+1 on your #4.
What a great site. Happy Easter.
That car factory sounds incredible.
Good health to you too.
Ditto on #4 !!! 🌸🌸🌸
Daim Blonde – wonderful.
Gomma is a lovely Spring scent.
1. La Curie Ossuary. I had a sample and kept the vial as a reminder to get this one day.
2. I seem to gravitate to oils lately. SmokeyToes mention of Chanel No.19 oil got my attention! Although I would love another tube of the Frederic Malle/ Olivia Giacobetti iris hand creme.
3. Favorite Easter candy is still probably Cadbury Mini Eggs. My good friend was mentioning the Oh Henry Easter Eggs that we got as kids. Those were so fun; such a memory!
4. I set up my hummingbird feeders yesterday. They’ve been spotted in my area a few days ago so I had to be ready for when they do a fly-by. I noticed a finch on the feeder yesterday trying to get it’s beak in there.
Busy day today. There was a pop-up recycling location set up to take stuff. The usual spot for the “extra stuff” is far out in the boonies somewhere so I’m grateful to unload the glass jars and batteries. They even took the flexible packaging like bags, outside wrappers and the like.
I made 2 lemon squares today; I’m taking 1 for tomorrow to where we’re invited for dinner. Had to keep 1 for home so I could test it! My in-laws neighbor made them all the time; so ridiculously addictive; I just found the long-lost recipe awhile ago. We call them Lemony Snicketts!
I’m also going to make batches of chickpeas and black beans tomorrow morning. I use them in salads or soups during the week.
Happy Easter weekend everyone!
Gail I never knew about O Henry Easter eggs. I looked them up and still couldn’t remember. Perhaps they were never in my area, but I wish they were.
Oh too bad! We’d always get 1 or 2 in our basket along with a chocolate bunny and other goodies. Maybe they were just a Canadian thing?
I never heard of them either!
I’m stumped! I didn’t think it was such an unknown. They were such a treat that we looked forward to them every Easter. It may have been the shape that made them so memorable.
I’m with lillyjo: never heard about O Henry Easter eggs.
But there are a couple of online stores that specialize in retro candies. Maybe you’d find them there?
That could be a deep rabbit hole! Too many good candies back then.
Interesting that you and lillyjo never heard of them. They tasted exactly like regular Oh Henry bars but in an egg shape; probably the size of your palm (a kids size palm, that is).
BTW, most classic candy bars have been reformulated and if you go on candy forums (yes I did, when I realized my kids’ Halloween candy didn’t taste the same as I remembered) you will find people moaning about the change in taste of their childhood favorites. Substitute smell for taste and you have our vintage gripes about perfume exactly. In the case of candy, the big multinational companies that make all the beloved classics now use palm oil, glycerol, and flavorings that allow them use less real cacao, which is very expensive and threatened by global warming.
I picked up my Easter ham tonight. Good thing because there was only 3 left.
Questions-
1. Chance Splendide.
2. Ulta is carrying a new line of shower gels and lotions and oils called Sailtair. I sniffed them all and they smell great. Fairly reasonably priced too.
3. I could pick so many candies. This year I will go with Cadbury Brownie eggs. I don’t see them often but buy one when I do.
4. Easter Bunny, please give my Son passing grades for his hopefully last 2 classes.
Good luck to you with cooking that ham, and good luck to your son in his classes! 🌈🍀🍀🍀
Thank you Jalapeno!
Have a happy Easter and best of luck to your son
Happy cooking today Lillyjo and sending🍀🍀🍀to your son.
The best to your son always! 🍀
Yay for the last two classes, Lillyjo, and all good thoughts beaming out to your son.
Happy Easter, lillyjo! Enjoy your dinner and I’m sending out good thoughts for your son.
Happy Easter and Bon Appétit Lillyjo! Glad you got one before they ran out! Also ☘️☘️☘️ to your son finishing up those two classes! I’m not familiar with Chance Splendide but you always smell splendid I know. I love me some Ulta, I just wish there was one closer to me. I’m going to check out Saltair.
Good to hear about Saltair. I’ve been curious about them since they popped up on Instagram a couple years ago. I didn’t realize they now had distribution in Ulta so good for them.
Happy weekend!
1. I would like a bottle of YSL Muse. Reviews are quite positive and I am iiiintrigued.
2. Chanel Beige body oil.
3. Marc de Champagne milk chocolate truffles. Yum.
4. I’d love to have a bountiful harvest from my garden. Right now there are loads of baby habanero peppers maturing and papayas and lots of herbs but what tends to happen is that birds would come in and peck away at the fruits and young leaves. It’s okay really, I don’t mind feeding the birds (hunger is no fun for anyone!) but I just want some left for me!
Silly me. I just “cooked” my right hand from the steam of my steamer while I tried lowering some vegetables. The whole palm is now red like a lobster and throbbing. Ugh.
You poor thing. Hope it feels less steamed soon
Oh, your poor hand, lots of freezing water on it and some medicated cream too if you have some.
Ixnay on the freezing water, Aurora. If it’s that cold, you can actually have a secondary thermal injury. Plain cool water works fine.
Thanks Jalapeno , good to know, I meant very cold.
Oh no! I hope your hand heals soon!
oof, sounds so painful, happy888cat. I hope you feel better soon.
Oh no! I hope your hand is feeling better.
We seem to feed the birds too; strawberries seem to be a favorite later in the season. And it has to be a fresh one, they wouldn’t want to eat one that’s already been pecked at.
Oh no! I steamed myself with asparagus 40 years ago. Please take care and seek urgent care if you need.
Ouch! Been there, done that, hope it’s feeling better soon!
Ouchie!!
Yowch! That hurt reading about your poor hand.
Nocturnes de Caron – any formulation
Nothing
Dark chocolate covered marzipan
Continued success for my three human children and good health and happiness for my feline grandchildren
Of course chocolate covered marzipan! The Easter bunny must know that already.
It’s a pity you are so far from me. I would happily give you my vintage mini (3 out of 5 ml remaining) of Nocturnes de Caron.
My Sunday is a quiet one, which is nice. Wearing Baghari for the first time in a while, spring weather makes me crave aldehydes and orange blossom (and galbanum but that’s for another day.) It’s a very peaceful, pretty day, wishing that for all of you 🌷🌼🪻
I had a quiet and peaceful Sunday too, and got tons of annoying stuff done around the house, hence only getting here much later than I’d planned.
I don’t have a SOTD yet, but yesterday I wore Mona di Orio Santal Nabataea. I was reminded of it when Robin posted about Nabataean towns for last week’s CP. We’re having a cooler, more overcast day today so I’ll probably pick something that goes with the weather before getting into a week of lilac perfumes.
1. Parfumerie Generale/Pierre Guillaume Arabian Horse since it’s been on my buy list for a very long time.
2. Tough choice, but I’d probably try a Cire Trudon candle since I don’t think I’ll ever shell out the money for one.
3. How about some of those chocolate bars with bunnies on the packaging from Maison Bouche that were featured as a daily lemming this week. Unfortunately, I was too slow and they’re pretty much all sold out at Beautyhabit now.
4. I’ll just copy a couple others and ask for health, both mental and physical for myself and loved ones. 💕
You can order direct from Maison Bouche if they still have them! I did a big order from them years ago after admiring the bars at Beautyhabit.
Good tip, thanks! Looks like they don’t have the Easter collection anymore, but they have other enticing options.
I reviewed a couple of their bars, ages ago, in case anyone is interested…
And therabbitsflower, do report back if you try any!

Happy Easter! 🐣
🐇
I am in Comete by Chanel for Easter services
I had peeps and jelly beans before I had coffee this morning
Happy Easter!
I am hoping that Chanel shows up on the split meet
If it doesn’t a cheap dupe is Zara Romance d’ Iris. I love it and it does smell similar. Only about $50 for 100 ml and nice heavy bottle with magnetic top. Done by Jo Malone. I love it!
Happy Easter to all who celebrate!
Sotd The Harmonist Moon Glory.
Home resting. Mr Engineer cooked us a lavish feast (lamb and ham) with sides and dessert. Then dropped it off so we could eat and sleep. Food delish. Nap just what the dr ordered!
Happy Easter LesLiesse!
Nap well!
🤗🥰
Happy 🐰
Happy 🐰 to you too!
Sounds like you had the perfect Easter for you this year.
I hadn’t thought of it that way, but I do now! Thank you Jalapeno!
Happy Easter!
I usually start cooking early so we can eat around 1. This year I decided I wanted to have a lazy morning so we just finished up and I am cleaning the kitchen.
I wore 2 perfumes today. Devotion for most of today and I just now put on some original Jessica McClintock. Both seemed fitting for the day.
Thanks everyone for the good wishes for my Son’s classes. He’s completing his final exam online right now. 🤞
I remember the original Jessica McClintock
🤞 hope you have more to celebrate after he completes his exam!!!
Oh, fingers crossed with you!! Do report back.
Hope everything goes well lillyjo!
More fingers crossed!🤞🤞🤞
Fingers *and* toes crossed!
Happy Monday NST.
I have no lilac perfume for the CP so I will wear what I feel like all week. Today it’s Pleasures, from a lovely generous NSTER, it takes me right back to the 90s, when I was a perfume serial monogamist. Can’t even imagine that now!
Pleasures has a lilac note, although it’s probably lost in other notes. If I remember correctly, this is one of those “bouquet” perfumes – lots of different florals.
Well I’ll be, so it does! I’ll wear it Friday too. Thanks Glannys!
The joys of accidental CP-compliance.😉You are welcome!
I do not have a lilac perfume at the moment either.
You might be surprised. When I looked at the Lilac note on Fragrantica, I didn’t have any lilac perfumes but I found two that I do have by looking up my floral fragrances individually (it was quick, I don’t have many florals.)
Happy Monday ringthing!
Happy Monday! I hope everyone had a lovely Easter.
For the CP, I have four perfumes with a noticeable lilac note, but nothing truly lilac-forward for Monday. So today, I’m wearing Gucci Guilty EDP with a touch of Korres Lilac Smoothing Body Milk. The Korres helps to amplify the lilac note in Guilty, I think.
Happy Monday Glannys!
You have more than I do…and I should look for that Body Milk.
That Korres Body Milk sounds lovely! I haven’t seen it yet here on the US website but will keep an eye out for it.
1. Would love a bottle of Lyric extrait.
2. I have enough candles and don’t need more.
3. Chocolate covered bing cherries from Harry and David.
4. Can’t think of anything except a Sephora or Ulta gift card.
PSA: It looks like Chanel just released an e-gift card.
Was kind of surprised that Pope Francis had passed away but not really. I know he was sick for a while but probably wanted to hang on until after Easter.
Yesterday’s SOTD was no 22 edt and getting into the shower and will probably wear either Kyoto or Lyric today.
I was very surprised…but indeed he was unwell.
I was also surprised to hear about Pope Francis. Guess he held on long enough to celebrate Easter…
I would love to find a lilac fragrance that mimics the lilac flowers that noticeably smell of jasmine. The flowers are light purple and more delicate than other light purple lilacs in my neighborhood. Google tells me they could be Korean or Japanese Lilacs.
As is always the case for our CPs, I find fragrances in my collection that I didn’t know would meet the criteria. Today is Guerlinade and so perfect for a crisp Spring day🌸
You smell great allo!
There are lilacs with a jasmine smell?!?
Yes, it’s a gorgeous scent and definitely different than a “regular” lilac (which I love!)
I’m wearing my cool weather lilac perfume today, which is Desarmant. I’ve only got a couple ml left in my decant and will be so sad when it’s gone. Wish I’d bought a bottle when I could.
If wishes were horses…we’d both have a stable 😉
Love that reply! It’s much nicer than the one my Dad used.
Thanks to a generous NST swap, I have several Lilac decants to wear this week. Today is Philosophy Living Grace. This is so pretty smelling but very short lived. I’ve been reapplying all day and think it will be thunked by tonight.
How did your son do on his exams?
Hoping to know tomorrow. I’m still praying for him.
🙏 w you !
No lilacs in my collection so will probably wear Iris instead. Today is Zara Romance d’ iris which I think is a dupe to Chanel Comete.
How is Mr K feeling?
Thanks for asking. Some better after the steroid pack, but he will be having an MRI on Thursday.
I’m sure Thursday can’t come soon enough.
You would be correct!
Lilacs are in bloom here! I happily stuck my nose in some on Saturday.
Oh, they do smell good. I just don’t particularly care for them in a perfume.
Lilacs in a garden are heavenly!
Happy Monday, all! I’m very late to this party. Spent the weekend cooking three intensive dinners and dyeing eggs three ways (natural dye, onion skins, and Paas). I’m pooped.
Don’t really have answers to all the questions, but:
#1: Feu d’Issey
#3: My favourite Easter candy is Cadbury caramel eggs, which have pulled a disappearing act this year…not sure why.
I will be CP-compliant all week because I have Fzotic Toasted Lilac soap in the shower right now. I’m really liking it, but probably won’t be able to get more for the foreseeable future given the side of the border I’m on. But today I’m in Puente Iris Doux, which really is lovely but his FBs are too spendy for me right now.
Did anyone else see this article on Bond No. 9 and gentrification? https://www.nytimes.com/2025/04/21/style/bond-no-9-perfume-greenpoint.html The article really doesn’t have much of a point; the headline is more interesting than the article, actually. But…thoughts on Bond? I lost interest probably 15 years ago; is there anything worth the price?
Bond had the best coffee scent ever to my nose in New Haarlem, and Andy Warhol Silver Factory was a fizzy incense that was wonderful, so they were discontinued. Boo. Others from the line that I’ve tried didn’t move me one way or the other.
I spotted the Cadbury Caramel Eggs at Target earlier this month and tried them, just for grins. They weren’t on the shelves for very long here.
Popping in to comment late on Easter Monday.
I had some unexpected things pop up over the past 24 hours. Some of them were good, like having lunch with a cousin today and a phone call with my high school BFF, while others were not so good, like needing to do laundry after Teflon kitty threw up on my bed late yesterday evening. (I know, gross.)
Poll answers!
1. New or old perfume? How about Chanel No. 19 extrait, bunny?
2. Other scented goodie? More Flying Fox showergel from LUSH, plz!
3. Favorite (Easter) candy? Back in 2023 and 2024, Vosges had these amazing little lemon flavored white chocolate rabbits with krispies in them. They were fantastic! Sadly, they didn’t show up this year. 😢
4. Random bonus Easter bunny gift? I will echo other NSTers about good health for both their human and animal companion family/friends. Health IS wealth!
Yay for the lunch and visits!
Boo on the puke!
Neither Teflon kitty nor I were happy after her Technicolor yawn. But she seems to be better today.
Very happy to catch up with my cousin!
I’m so glad you had a good visit with your cousin. I saw several cousins on Easter and it’s so fun to share family memories….like our grandmother yelling “I’ll give you something to cry about” when we were already crying for very good reasons, I’m sure😬
This was more getting caught up with current events. Some PhD level adulting happening in both our lives.
Health is wealth! And Vosges rocks!
Easter SOTD was Nicolai’s Le Temps d’une Fête, thanks to the generous Jester and SheriG.
I’m doing a second SMN week, and Monday was Cala Rossa day, which is a unique take (at least to me) on an herbal scent. Green and fresh, and toeing the line of savory. I was expecting more briskness from the mint or camphor from the eucalyptus, but they are mellow.
1. I’d love a bottle of Organza Indecence if the Easter Bunny can find one for me
2. I’d like a Lady of Shalott own-root rose bush from David Austen (with magic deer-repelling powers, if the EB is feeling extra generous with its magical powers)
3. I always claim not to be a fan of Easter candy and then end up eating a bunch of Mr. Vee’s beloved Cadbury Mini-Eggs, so an extra bag to offset my pilfering would be appreciated.
4. I’ll take a robot vacuum, please. Three kitties who are shedding like adults for the first time plus the stray shedding a true outdoor winter coat equals scary-looking fur tumbleweeds all over the house.
