Parfums de Nicolai Muguet ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 15 April 2025 12 Comments

French niche line Parfums de Nicolaï has launched Muguet, a new limited edition soliflore fragrance. (You may remember that last year they released the limited edition Une Fleur en Mai.)

Muguet opens with a zesty green burst of rosebuds, unveiling a heart that is resolutely floral — dominated by lily of the valley and delicately highlighted with Sambac jasmine. The base settles into soft oakmoss and white musk.

In this delicate sprig of lily of the valley, it is above all the green note that is exalted — echoing nature as it adorns itself in vibrant hues and subtle tonal variations. Muguet also reveals an undergrowth facet, with earthy, humus-like accents that envelop the senses. The scent of the flower itself is a rare balance of charm and freshness — subtle, yet beautifully distinctive.

Additional notes include bergamot, rosemary, cut grass, oakmoss  and musk.

Parfums de Nicolaï Muguet is available in 30 ml Eau de Toilette for €57. (It is possibly exclusive to the brand's online and boutique stores).

Sounds pretty, and like it’s more than a simple soliflore.

Oh boy, going to have to try that one. Wonder if Scentrique will get it…I think the LEs have been limited to Paris in the past. At that price point it could be a blind buy?

I think they’ve been limited to Paris and London so far.

That is wonderful news! By the time I had decided that I wanted last year’s Muguet, they were sold out, so I will just have to order this one.
She does good LOTV’s, thinking of Eau du Lude, Odalisque and Eclipse.

      Do report back!

She also did that lovely LOTV for MDCI.

Nicolai has a deft hand when it comes to LOV and delicate white florals. I’ve loved many of her florals and can’t wait to try this one…

I never tried Une Fleur en Mai and wonder if this is a re-release under a new name? The notes looks the same.

It might be…the description is slightly different but might be just reworded for no reason 🙂

Une Fleur en Mai kind of smells like their Week-end in Normandy minus the marine note.

I contacted PdN through their website and they have confirmed it’s a slightly tweaked rerelease below…

Thank you for your message and your interest in Muguet.

Muguet is a slightly revisited version of Une fleur en Mai, with a different type of jasmine. The difference is not very noticeable.

Please feel free to reach out if you have any other question,
