Penhaligon’s Fortuitous Finley ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 18 March 2025 2 Comments

Penhaligon’s has launched Fortuitous Finley, a new addition to the brand's Portraits collection.

From Penhaligon's this luxurious fragrance boasts a delicate balance of salted pistachio and rich leather, weaving together a tale of innocence and addiction that captivates and enchants. A fortuitous encounter of spice and leather thrives under Finley's touch. Violet leaf blooms next to cardamom in oh-so capable hands. Pistachio prospers with passion. A stable scent for a wild horse.

Penhaligon’s Fortuitous Finley is available now at Fortnum & Mason, £235 for 75 ml Eau de Parfum.

Sounds interesting to me if the pistachio isn’t too sweet.
What a great marketing idea the Penhaligon “Portraits” line has been for them with its marriage of history, eccentric personages, Britanicana, (is that a word?) and perfume bottles as art objects. There seems to be a lot of interest in them and buzz. Some may find the bottles too flashy but I suppose it depends on aesthetics. For those who enjoy having a sculptural objet on their bureau, I can see the appeal.
I confess I’ve not tried any of them though I do love some of their earlier offerings.

Yes, huge marketing bonanza…I have no interest but they appear to have done quite well (they are slowing down so maybe not such a big deal as they were) and have kept the Penhaligon’s name “out there”.
