Rabbit rabbit rabbit! Welcome to March, and if it's still Saturday and you're in the Northern Hemisphere, welcome to the first day of meteorological spring. (You've still got 18 days to go until the equinox.) Plus, Ramadan Kareem! PSA: the next swapmeet starts on the 15th of this month.
We're celebrating with our usual open thread poll. Talk about anything you like — the fragrance you’re wearing today, anything you have blooming nearby (the snow drops are out in my yard!) or the spring flower you are awaiting most anxiously, whatever.
Or, ask a question about fragrance, then see if anyone else has asked a question that you can answer…
Note: the Bunny plants stakes by Magpie Mischief ("Add a touch of whimsy to your garden or potted plants with Magpie Mischief's charming Handmade Ceramic Rabbit Plant Stake") are $18 each at Beautyhabit (except the white one is already sold out).
For warmth and comfort, I’m wearing Les Nereides Imperial Opoponax today.
Our bipolar weather has changed from 55F and sunny yesterday (albeit very windy) to sub zero windchill and lake effect snow. March comes in like a lion! Let’s hope it goes out like a lamb.
Fingers crossed this is the last of it for awhile.
My only anxiety over things blooming is that the temperatures stay cool long enough for each flower to come out at it’s proper time, not all at once like last year.
And I hope my clematis made it through the winter.
Same here in the Chicago area, luckily sans snow. Hopefully the 🌸 🌹🪻🌼🌺 know what to do!
SOTD is Eau des Merveilles.
Hoping for a peaceful weekend, I really need it.
Fingers crossed for you NinaV!
One of my favorite scents!
Hope you have a peaceful weekend.
☮️to you! EdM, one of my top 5 ❤️
Thank you all! So far so good ☺️
Living Grace…… for Robin
Excellent, thank you!
5°C yesterday (so the snow got all melty), 10°C today, windy and grey (so it all froze up into treacherous skids). Not a good day to go out for a walk, but we did anyway. I’m wearing the cheerful YSL Yvresse to try to brighten things up.
My phone was almost 5 years old so yesterday I replaced it with the newest, lowest-priced iPhone, the 16e, which is being widely bad-mouthed by tech types, but what do I care? It does everything I need it to do, it’s really fast, it takes good pictures without a bunch of different lenses. If someone else wants to spend well over a thousand bucks for all the bells and whistles, let them. I really like this one.
I am quite sure your new phone will be just fine!
My phone will also turn 5 this summer! So will my apple watch. And my iPad turns 12 this year. We’ll see which needs replacing first…sort of shocked that iPad is still working.
I have a couple of iPod nanos bought in 2012, and they’re still going strong, which is good, because they don’t make them any more. I use them literally every day (one is full of music, the other podcasts): even the battery life is still amazing. People like to denigrate Apple but dangit they make products that work well and last for ages.
I so miss my ipods! Went through 4 of them, all got stolen or I broke them. Not one of them died on its own. Now I have a very old iphone that I essentially use as an ipod.
And I agree, Apple is a pain in the neck in many ways but their products take care of most of my tech needs in a pretty seamless fashion. I do still have a Dell desktop but got so sick of my Dell laptop that I bought a Macbook Air last year. It was more expensive, but it’s astonishing how much better it is.
I do think they’ve stopped updating the ios on the iPad and I’ll have to replace it eventually.
Think I will go with Delhi today, based on Kevins’ review of the new Astier de Villatte. (in my cart at Aedes) Keep it there for a while.
It’s coolish and cloudy here this morning.
Dave Johansen died. I went to high school with him on Staten Island before his NY Dolls days.
We would run into each other at the Fillmore East a lot and one night he took me/us to Electric Ladyland Studios, which had not been opened very long. Heady days, indeed.
Oh, RIP. I was explaining to my son just a week or so ago what “glam rock” was.
I have Delhi. It’s very nice but doesn’t last very long, a couple of hours at most. I like my fragrances to last all day.
Apsara so sorry for the loss of your friend David and at such a young age! What a lovely heady memory of him for you!
That’s neat apsara! I remember dancing madly to the NY Dolls decades ago. They got a lot of ink in the wonderfully entertaining book Please Kill Me, an Oral History of Punk Rock by Legs McNeill and Gillian McCain.
Cool and foggy this morning although it will be nice later. Just finished yoga. I was planning to wear Lady Gaga’s Eau de Gaga which I really love on a sunny day, but I just can’t do it with all that fog out there. Instead, I am going with L’Artisan Tea for Two for the morning.
Has anyone tried the new London Fog from Brandt? It sounds appealing, although some reviewers mention too much smokiness. Curious if anyone here has tried it.
And I did my rabbits this morning. The bunny stakes are cute, but they hit just a bit close to home: bunnies have been the bane of my garden for several years. I wish these contained some kind of non-hurtful way to discourage them and then I’d definitely buy one or two!
And yes, to answer the question about whether anything is blooming, we have lots of blooming bulbs around here. I am loving it.
Perhaps just perhaps they would scare away Real bunnies with an implicit, “scram, we got here first”.
😀
I did my rabbits when I woke up.
Springpansy, you smell great in Tea for Two.
♥
I was intrigued by London Fog/ Brandt. If you try, do give us your thoughts!
Will do!
Just remembered I had asked to be informed when Luckyscent had samples of London Fog back in stock. They came in mid-February if you’re interested in a sample.
Thank you! I am but will hold off for a bit…my “want to sample” list is forever changing and I save a few bucks by letting the list hang for a while…
Sotd The Harmonist Sun Force for CP and meteorological spring!
Robin: my Harney’s will finally arrive today! 🙌🫖☕️
Technical question: all five fragrance samples from Abel have stopped spraying. I’m concerned about braking the glass or spilling out the contents to get to the fragrance.
Any bottle repair ideas?
Yay, hope you will love your tea!
No help on the samples, hope someone else has an idea.
Looking forward to 4 pm tea time! I picked up Girl Scout Cookies today. So I’ll have to coordinate leaves & flavors. I got some Provence tea in addition to the loose lavender.
Don’t forget, if you don’t love the lavender plain you can mix it into all kinds of other teas… goes nicely with any black tea or earl grey or whatever 🙂
It was divine and so calming. Drank it with a Toffee -tastic Girl Scout Cookie. Thanks for the tip of blending it with some others Robin.
Oh good.
Ramadan Mubarak ☪️ for those who celebrate. For the spring like temperatures and for the holiday I am in the house of Amouge Lilac Love. I tried to find my oils from Morocco this morning – they are buried somewhere. I always think about my visit to Casablanca during Ramadan as the Hassan mosque will have 100,000 plus worshippers – I learned this from our docent on the tour.
I am still reading my YA novel, The Letter to the King. I also did some book purchases today.
Beauty buys- I got a eyeshadow pallet from Prada- will report back.
Also… on my calendar from Scotland (that had phots of the highland coos) has today at St David’s in Wales. 🏴
And it’s Zero Discrimination Day 🙂
I was running errands and anyone I saw I. Red and green I asked if they were Welsh. One was ! Sort like our wearing red white & blue on the 4th of July.
Red and green (with dragons) for Wales! Yay!
🏴
Happy first day of spring or fall, depending on the hemisphere.
I am wearing Memo Irish Leather – green notes with leather are just right for early spring.
That’s a lovely choice for the day!
As we head into autumn, I’m so enjoying the comments from the Northern Hemisphere about spring flowers.
My trip to Europe is just a month away, so I’ll get an extra few weeks of spring.
The trip has been all booked and paid for since September, but I’ve been trying not to get too excited in case we couldn’t go. I’m travelling with my sister-in-law and she has been having a few health issues lately but, after a last few tests, she confirmed a couple of days ago that she can travel as planned.
Now I can really get started on finding places that stock all the perfumes I want to try!
Oh yay, that is something to look forward to! Where are you going?
Yay , seconding Robin! Where are you going? I will be a few days in Amsterdam and the a couples week in France in May…eager for suggestions…
It’s a sunny and warm day for March and I am wearing Azemour. I think crocuses are blooming here (I don’t really know) but my grape hyacinths are still leaves, no flowers yet.
Yay for Azemour 🙂
Growing up in Pittsburgh, PA hyacinths were the epitome of spring even more than the daffodils in everyone front yards. There was the annual March trip to the botanic gardens and the fragrance of hundreds of hyacinths in the immense greenhouse was intoxicating in way far better then any cocktail. Foxbins I do hope your grape hyacinths bloom soon!
Frozen cherries and yogurt smoothie
I think I saw a daffodil starting to bloom but it may be a yellow crocus. Will investigate tomorrow. Réminiscence Dragée this morning, I tend to wear Rem Héliotrope much more for some reason and tonight I applied Jurlique Essence of Rose, a rollerball because I retrieved it from the back of the cabinet, I used to have Jurlique facials which were very relaxing, that must have been twenty years ago, I stopped going when the facialist moved to Tenerife and the department store closed soon afterwards. Anyway, Essence of Rose is full of natural rose essence and oil and doesn’t seem to have aged, its base is shea butter, I also found a backup, I wonder whether Jurlique still makes it. I also tested Rochas Poupée which has rather low ratings but some comments are rapturous and I liked it very much, the tuberose and gardenia are very original in it, not bubblegumy, not indolic either, it’s rather fruity, light but persistent.
It’s from a little 30ml bottle, purchased ten or so years ago, IIRC it was very cheap.
They definitely still make the Rose body oil but don’t think they make Essence of Rose…or maybe they just don’t sell it in the US?
Good to know Robin, from a quick Google search I think the products in Europe while still appealing have changed.
Oooh Jurlique, I haven’t seen that brand mentioned in awhile now! I loved their rose and lavender hand creams.
Tulipani, the products were so lovely and natural, I was a fan too.
« … from the back of the cabinet ». Cleaning out cabinets, drawers or closets seems like a shopping spree for me because I find so many things I’m not using. Aurora, Hope you find many more treasures lurking hidden in your home!
Merci Leslie, cleaning the cabinet est comme la chasse au trésor😉
La chasse au trésor – 😍
The new Lancome Tresor flanker…
I did my rabbits 🐇 🐇🐇 this morning and have 3 spare ones for people who did not do it. We’ve had a spate of the months turning on a weekend but that could just be my imagination. I used to abhor it because it messes up my notebooks.
SOTD = Guerlain Habit Rouge
Another one that I should wear more often!
https://www.instagram.com/p/DGq_hH0R1BU/?igsh=MW5udDhxbDFpa2lvZg==
In other news, here’s an article from The New York Times T Magazine on how to pick your signature scent. I don’t like the way it’s organized nor the results, but, eh, sharing anyway!
https://www.nytimes.com/2025/02/26/t-magazine/fragrance-scent-perfume-quiz.html?unlocked_article_code=1.0k4.UcAG.owyIr6BEb33i&smid=nytcore-ios-share&referringSource=articleShare
I didn’t particularly like the questions on the signature scent test, but it did have me pegged pretty close for my personality. Unfortunately, none of the scents are interesting to me so there you have it.
I didn’t even really gauge how close or how far from reality this was!
Can I call dibs on some of your rabbits hajusuuri?
Absolutely yes!
I took the Ulta perfume quiz and it recommended No.5 L’Eau.
I wasn’t able to read this article.
Ha! I bet I would have scored something similar to what you got for the Ulta quiz. You’re the second person who mentioned they couldn’t access this.
Robin, my snowdrops have just popped up, about an inch above ground. Spring is a’ comin’! 🤞
I’m enjoying Bvlgari Blv Notte on a chilly but ☀️ day. I had it out for February wear but never got to it so am sneaking it in today before I switch to March greener scents. Going out with friends tonight for a nice dinner to celebrate our town’s Restaurant Week and many years of friendship. Happy weekend!
Yay! Sort of surprised mine are blooming already but they’re in a sunny spot so that helps.
Enjoy your evening out!
I’m in “Une Fleur de Cassie,” from Frederic Malle. I know that a lot of people find this scent challenging; I’m not one of them. Victoria over at Bois de Jasmin writes beautifully about it, and is far more articulate about its charms than I could ever be. I was smitten at first sniff, and my affection for it has grown over the years.
Doing a little prep for a small Oscar party tomorrow. I didn’t see everything nominated, most especially “The Brutalist,” which is supposed to be very good, and I do hope to catch it soon. I enjoyed “The Conclave” much more than I thought I would. Kind of a breath of fresh air: it felt like a movie by a grownup, made for grownups. Unlike a bunch of the other nominated flicks. Probably best that I not speak of some of the others I managed to endure.😊
I think I’ll look for a Gene Hackman movie to watch tonight. I never saw anything less than a terrific performance from him, even in lousy movies. Easily a top-ten movie actor of all time in my book.
Hope everyone is having a lovely weekend.
I did not see a single nominated movie, so you have me beat for sure!
But you might enjoy this, Bill Murray on working with Gene Hackman on Royal Tenenbaums:
https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/bill-murray-recalls-tough-nut-111121099.html
May I second Robin’s recommendation? His work on The Royal Tenenbaums is brilliant and full of great work by the likes of Seymour Cassell, Danny Glover, Anjelica Houston, Bill Murray and Kumar Pallana as Hackman’s valet. But Hackman’s scenes with Ben Stiller’s grieving widower son bring a tear to my eye thinking about it.
I love The Royal Tenenbaums! Just re-watched Hoosiers, a totally predictable, formulaic film (with a non-stop pulsing 80s soundtrack,) that is greatly elevated by terrific performances from Hackman and Dennis Hopper. Such a fun, feel-good movie.
If you don’t mind snow, Hackman’s work in Downhill Racer as Robert Redford’s coach is a deep dive, but worth seeing also. Re: Prada Infusions Mimosa, it seems discontinued 🙁.
LesLiesse, I’m happy to share some of the Prada if you’re interested. My contact info is on my web site, which you can reach by clicking on my name.😊
I loved the Royal Tenenbaums and Gene Hackman in his madcap role.
I’ve seen all of the nominations an my favourite was Nickel Boys ( loved the POV camera work) followed by The Brutalist ( though I wouldn’t give it the best actor which lacked a bit of subtlety . ) and also the Walter Salles film, I’m still here . Conclave struck me as a good solid film with good performances, story and some amazing shots ( and use of the colour red). I also like. A Real Pain. I was sad that Queer was overlooked as Daniel Craig was superb.
All of the noms, wow, that’s impressive Kanuka!
It all the nominations, I should clarify, but all the best picture nominations. Haven’t seen all the foreign films, short films, documentaries etc. I would go to the pictures every day if I could.
I was just thinking of the Best Picture noms -which at 10 is an impressive amt of viewing. But thank you for the clarification Kanuka. You make me wonder just now if the Academy voters see them all -docs, foreign, etc.
Rabbits! After a warmish day yesterday, our high was 24 with a chill wind today . I wore St. Clair Casablanca, a sturdy orange blossom with spices and a strong amber-woody base- good for winter ish weather. It reminds me of Tauer’s Elle pour Maroc, which I do not seem to have any of now… a
Fat fingered it. I am making paella for dinner, pescado style, but with some chicken thighs and wild rice for a Michigan twist! We’ll have it and drink a little wine tonight, and I will freeze lunch sized portions for later. March will be better than February no matter what happens, because the days are getting noticeably longer, even tho I have no hint of green growing things here yet!
I adore paella but am unfamiliar with pescado style. I’ve gone wine tasting in the UP. You have marvelous wines in Michigan.
Pescado – fish and seafood, rather than traditional duck and rabbit. I cheat big time and get a paella box from a company named Vigo, comes with a good can of seafood bits in a tasty sauce and a bag of rice preseasoned with saffron and whatnot. To that I add some wild rice, extra peas and green beans and broccoli, and I tuck in skin on chicken thighs or legs that I have browned up, or mussels, or shrimp, etc to dress it up. This is a big skillet of food, so we have lunch paella portions galor afterwards. 🙂
Thanks for the tip on Vigo! I have a paella pan, and mean to use it more. Vigo may be the ticket.
Vigo paella comes in an 8 oz box and a 16 oz box, easily found on Amazon, not cheap, due to high quality seafood and what tastes like real saffron to me, but well worth it. Get a small box first, to make sure you like it. It freezes well, and I love the leftovers. We have this at our house for a Saturday night dinner every six weeks or so, in rotation with a pizza, an mushroom Alfredo sauce on spaghetti squash meal, with garlic toast, a Vietnamese grilled beef noodle bowl, crab cakes, and homemade chicken pots pies. Adorable hubby likes what he likes, and over time I have got this set of recipes that keeps me interested in cooking-note how each of these is susceptible to variation, while retaining the familiarity the hubs needs for calm happy weekends!
Thank you for the Casablanca/Le Maroc Pour Elle comparison. I totally agree and love them both.
If you would like a decant of Le Maroc Pour Elle, ping me at le sl i co rthe ll aaat GEE male dotty com and I would be happy to send you a decant.
Oh, so kind! I will!
Is there an e in your email address? Not sure I sent it to a good address?
Hi meredifay, there’s no e at the end of my first name (unusual spelling).
Okay I sent you another email, did you get it!
I remembered the rabbits today. That doesn’t happen very often.
SOTD is Encens Mythique today.
Back down to the 20’s and 30’s today so I haven’t noticed anything blooming yet. Looks like our temperatures and precipitation will be up and down this coming week so it’s anyone’s guess when thing will start sprouting.
I saw the temps should stabilize around mid month.
Sunny and mild. Yesterday was Omnia, today is SL Un Bois Vanille both of which are very work appropriate. Some might say boring, but I say calm and soothing.
Forgot my bunnies, but T-Rex flushed a couple yesterday, so maybe that counts a bit..?🐰
Calm and soothing sounds perfect to me.
Second that.
I think those bunnies count!
So hot today (32C) and I’ve given up on the garden before I melt. “Flower-wise” the wild blackberries are ripe, big and juicy. The hawthorn is covered in red berries and the chestnuts are falling to the ground. Rosehips have overtaken roses now. Wearing Kelly Caleche and lounging aimlessly while I come up with a plan of action for the rest of the day.
Dang that is hot!
So, not an autumnal day!!
I was able to try the newish Angel Fantasm yesterday and boy am I glad I didn’t blind buy it. It’s awful. I don’t understand why it gets so many good reviews. My guess is they are from people who do not like perfume. It smells like a can of fruit cocktail that has had a bottle of ambroxan dumped into it. No Angel to be found. Money saved! Which works well because my brakes made a horrible noise today.
In good perfume news..
Thanks to a generous Nster I am giving a full days wear to Dusita La Douceur de Siam and enjoying it very much. It’s more perfumey than I thought it would be by the notes. It’s right up my alley.
Nothing blooming here.
“My guess is they are from people who do not like perfume” 🤣
It’s the only logical explanation!
Guess I don’t need to seek it out then.
That’s the black colored Angel. Is the juice black or the bottle? I guess I haven’t seen it when I have been out and about, but I wasn’t really looking for it either.
La Douceur de Siam is a very nice scent. Glad you like it!
Nothing blooming here either. Back down to the 20’s and 30’s today.
It just showed up at my Ulta. The SA didn’t let me hold the tester but I had her spray my wrist and a strip. The juice came out normal clear/yellow so it is probably the bottle.
It stayed in the 20s here too.
I hate any perfume with ambroxan. It seems to make me gag for some reason. Glad you saved money on the Angel. Good luck with brakes.
I share your Ambroxan hate😡
Any ambroxan or cachalox and other ambergris avatars make me quizzy I’ve learned the hard way at the beginning of the perfume journey. The last Angel flanker I bought was Angel Muse EDT so it’s been a while😀
Thanks for taking one for the team, lillyjo, sorry it was a scrubber. Angel and flankers are my favorite Muglers, I wish Alien worked for me but we don’t get along.
I just haven’t liked the most recent flankers. I think the last good one was Iced Star.
Thank you for the mini review Lillyjo, making mental note to avoid like the plague.
I was so disappointed Aurora.
Thanks for braving the ambroxan ocean that Mugler seems to have become lately, lillyjo. I know you despise the stuff.
Lots in bloom around me, it’s been unusually warm this past week. I spotted a yard full of daffodils on a walk yesterday. And my semi-dying mini Meyer lemon tree has only a handful of leaves but many many flower buds and one has bloomed. I think we have a cooler week ahead with some rain expected, I must wear my cooler weather scents soon!
Today I wore Love Tuberose because someone mentioned it recently. But washed it off after a few hours because it was just too sweet and indolic in the warmish weather. I don’t think it’s necessarily an indolic scent, but it pulls that way on my skin.
Yay, lemons coming!!
I remembered to rabbit, a little late but I’m claiming them anyway. Been wearing Chanel 19 EDT the past few days because all of a sudden it smells like spring to me. Our spate of absolutely gorgeous weather here is coming to an end soon — we very often have a week or so in February of lovely, teasing weather with temperatures in the high 50s (if not low 60s!) and glorious sunshine, and this year that week came a bit late … but better late than not at all, amirite? In any case, I’ll take 50 degrees and raining over freezing rain or snow any day. One year in the 1990s it snowed here in April! I was shocked.
We get snow in April sometimes here. It still beats freezing rain.
Almost anything beats freezing rain — it’s the worst!
Yes, No. 19 does smell like spring to me too. You smell great!
I seldom wear the same fragrance from one day to the next, but I’m now on Day Four of No. 19! I think I’m ready for spring to get here already. 😁
I think I’ll copy you in Chanel n.19 edt today.
Did you? If so, hi twin! It’s such a gorgeous fragrance.
Yes, twins 👯
Love the EdT version of No. 19. 😍
Rabbit rabbit! The early daffodils are up in my garden, hurray! They are one of my favorite flowers, the others being lilies of the valley and roses. I’ve just been in Vienna and Salzburg for the first time, loved them both. One of my blog’s readers suggested visiting a niche perfume boutique called Le Parfum, and it was lovely, with very nice, helpful staff and many alluring fragrances. I tried an Austrian brand that was new to me, called Estoras. I don’t think there are very many Austrian perfume brands — do any of you know of some good ones?
Now I’m in Barcelona, a favorite city, for the week while my husband works here. I love his business trips, especially since I’ve retired and can tag along whenever I like!
Enjoy Barcelona!💖
Have a great time!
Just back from a week visiting my brother in the Tampa area of Florida, though I did negotiate a 2 days solo stay in St Petersburg (a B&B called The Inn On Third – fabulous little place, walking distance of everything I wanted to do) – wore Bulgari Eau Parfumee au The Vert the entire time, refreshing given the weather was so warm (I’m speaking as a resident of the north east of Scotland) while my brother & sister-in-law were in long sleeves most of the time & I was in short sleeve cotton shirts! Lovely to see snowdrops & crocuses in our neighbourhood when I got home, although it’s still a tad chilly!
Eau Parfumee au The Vert is such a nice scent.
I’ve worn it on & off for years, since it first appeared – ideal for the weather on my trip.
I’m glad you had a good trip and can now, also, see signs of spring back home.
Thank you so much.
Glad you had a nice trip. Au The Vert sounds like the perfect choice.
Thank you & indeed it was!
I lived just a few blocks from that hotel for many, many years. Hard to imagine now, but back in the day, downtown closed down at 5pm and took on a night life filled with sketchy areas and characters. Not safe to walk around, dark alleys, just the wind clattering the palm tree leaves. I lived right across the street from the Vinoy, which was resurrected in the early 90’s and now is on the US National Register of Historic Places, for almost 12 years. It’s stunning inside. Amazing changes in downtown St Pete in the time that I lived there. Happy to hear you enjoyed it. 🙂
Oh good grief, small world! As a solo female traveller who walks & takes public transport I felt very safe in St Petersburg.
Local people very friendly, everyone you would pass when doing touristy things would say ‘good morning’ or ‘lovely day’, & if I happened to look at a street sign or my map (a paper one!) people would come up to me & ask if they could help. When I was crossing a side street without pedestrian ‘cross now’ signs pretty much every driver, be it car, bus or lorry would stop & gesture for me to cross. I recognise the Vinoy you mention – when I visit my brother again I will make a point of having a look inside – thank you. From what you say the city does indeed seem to have changed greatly, & for the better, & The Inn On Third was just sublime.
Welcome back!
Thank you. There were things in St Petersburg I didn’t have time to do, although I packed a lot into my 2 days there, but that gives me a reason to go back!
Sotd Encens Mythique to go w my newly arrived Harney’s Blue w Lavender Tea which I’m mixing with Breakfast in Paris.
Happy Sunday NST!
Happy Sunday to you too, LesLiesse! 💕
NinaV enjoy basking and basking in your EdT No. 19!
Love both EM and Harney’s tea.
I kept switching between smelling my wrist and the cup. Divine!
Monday again. How did that happen so quickly? Wearing Copper at the moment but will try something else later. I find it quite hard to settle on my day’s perfume when it is still pitch black outside. Sunrise is around 7.15 now and the mornings get quite dark between now and the end of daylight saving, though sunset is still around 8.30.

A link to drawings by the writer Victor Hugo. I had no idea he drew, and these are of imaginary castles from a current exhibition.
You would love his apartment in Paris, full of his drawings.
https://www.maisonsvictorhugo.paris.fr/en/paris/museum/visit-apartment-today
Looks incredible. I’ve only ever been outside ( maybe it was shut the day I was there twenty years ago).
Wearing Piper and Perro’s Arid, perhaps in honour of three whole days of sunshine.
That’s worth celebrating!
I’m wearing Box of Eels parfum and eating lemon cake for breakfast.
I love lemon cake and lemon bars. I’m about to eat chocolate cream pie for a late lunch.
SOTD is Shalimar MI. I haven’t worn this for a little while. Still smells fantastic to me!
Nice 🙂
I am finishing my decant of Noir épices as I received my bottle of it a few days ago. It is still a new feeling of satisfaction to have an enormous supply of a scent I adore. Less enjoyable is the realization that I will have to report to Donatella, so far much more reasonable amount of purchases than last quarter but higher end in prices, justifying that I had wanted those perfumes for eons like the case with Noir épices.
I just had a bowl of soup with fresh leeks tonight and applied a bpal oil called Oatmeal & apple spice cookie, very realistic apple with projection too.
I am sure Donatella joins me in congratulating you on your new bottle!
😀Thank you Robin, I waited 5 or 6 years, I’m sure Donatella pulls the trigger on purchases much more speedily😉
Congrats on getting a much-desired perfume! No impulse buy for you there, LOL.
I’m joining Kris today in Shalimar MI.
Yay! Scent twins.
Staying with iris today in Dusita Splendiris.
Have a great week everyone!
Have a great week Kris!
Hope yours gets better after getting your car fixed.
À great week to and MeK as he makes a full recovery!
Mr K
Mr K is doing well. Thanks for asking.
March and iris go together perfectly.
So does January, February, April, May, June, July, August, September, October, November and December🤣
You and Lucasai are the hardcore iris-o-philes here at NST. I think hajusuuri is also part of the Iris Club.
So is J B.
I’m waiting while my car is getting fixed. Apparently my breaks were really bad, plus a bad axel. Thank goodness I didn’t have an accident! Also thank goodness I have almost exactly enough money for the repairs.
I spritzed on Devotion this morning. One of my happy perfumes.
I am sorry for the unplanned expenses but good for your safety! You smell great.
I’m glad you were able to get it fixed, sounds like it was dangerous, especially for pothole season.
Lillyjo I’m so relieved you found this out and repaired both before they failed! Stay safe with money well spent!
Sorry about those expenses but it will be to your advantage in the long run. Plus, you smell great!
Very glad to hear you had the cash to fix your car before something bad happened!
I’m joining you and all the others who’ve been enjoying Devotion lately. First fragrance I’ve treated myself to in awhile!
Isn’t it just lovely?
I find it so easy to wear.
Happy Monday!
Today I am sampling Penhaligon’s Empressa. Notes: peach, vanilla, blood orange. Nice, but I am not tempted to buy it. Money saved 😊
Happy Monday back atcha, NinaV!
Always good when money saved.
A few drops of Chanel No. 5 this morning which always delivers. My mother wore this. As a kid, I thought the animalics smelled sweet like chocolate. I rarely wear this one but when I do its beauty always takes my breath away.
Smelling particularly wonderful today DeniseH.
Another cold, gray Monday.
I “rediscovered” Black Orchid yesterday and it smelled so good I’m wearing it again today.
Thank you ringthing. You smell pretty darn awesome yourself!
When Black Orchid is good, it is very good indeed! It’s kind of temperamental on me, though.
I got that way too. For some reason it started not working for me anymore so I got rid of it.
Last couple times I wore it, Black Orchid was lovely. So mine is still hanging around.
Popping by to say that I’m wearing Sortilège from Le Galion.
*waves to Gaynor*
in Le Lion today…
Sipping MF tea, Tea au Tibet
I had MF Festin d’Or this afternoon 🙂
Rain is coming soon and the humidity is raising. Sotd The Harmonist Yin Transformation, an aquatic.
Wishing all a good healthy almost officially spring week!
We are getting rain and/or snow tomorrow.
So, I am curious if you ended up purchasing Encens Mythique or Iris Poudre. I almost bought a BUB (back up bottle) of EM, but didn’t yet. Will need to get a BUB of Iris Poudre too at some point😊
Not yet. My birthday is next month and I am currently planning on getting the Imaginary Authors Discovery Set, with matching funds going to SoCal fire recovery relief. They’re both on my Bottle Buy List, probably in the summer. Btw, I saw a 4.2 oz tester of EM on sale at Fragrancenet. So bigger than a sample but smaller than a bottle?
It is cheaper at Jomashop. Under $100 so that is where I got the last bottle.
That’s a great tip Kris! Thank you!
Would-be wet weather twins with you! (And the alliteration was rather fun. ) 😉
Fun for me too!
Watching the weather changing throughout the day today. It started off bright, sunny and mild. But during the afternoon clouds have rolled in while the wind has picked up. A rain/snow mix was initially predicted for the overnight hours; however temps have just been too warm. So I might see only rain and maybe a thunderstorm.
I did remember to “rabbit” on Saturday. So bunnies, do your best!
SOTD = EL Azuree, in the old style packaging. Why don’t I wear this more often?
I thought I saw snow on the map for you. Hopefully you get the rain and not the mix.
Nope, no snow for me. It’s going in all different directions except mine, LOL.
There were a couple lightning strike alerts on my cell phone earlier this afternoon. So far that and the wind have been it for weather. Haven’t really seen any rain yet.
Like some of you, we’re also getting ready for rain – starting late tonite heavy rain predicted the next 2 days and then ending in snow. Yuk! But in March my thoughts always turn to gardening and I imagine the earth below my veggie garden beginning to come to life, so it’s patchouli that beckons me this month, patchouli and green notes. Woody and earthy, Fancy Nights is my choice and satisfies my scent needs very nicely today.
Fancy Nights is one of the best cheap thrills!
