When I need to feel confident, I reach for a patchouli rose like Frederic Malle’s Portrait of a Lady. My most-complimented scent is Estée Lauder’s symphonic ‘80s floral Beautiful, so make of what [sic] what you will.

Intriguing. I don’t think “I want to feel fancy and rich” when I put on fragrance. For me, I feel more alive and earthy when I put on fragrance, even something like Walk On Air. By earthy, I mean connected with natural elements. I’m not familiar with Glossier You, but now I have to go check it out if it’s ubiquitous.
I don’t want to feel fancy and rich either, and the rant makes no sense to me because there are so many fragrances on the market right now that whatever category you are trying to fill, you have a lot of choice.
