It’s Hump Day and National Creamsicle Day. What fragrance are you wearing?
Repeating myself from yesterday: I am on a road trip this week and will be behind in all the usual ways (posting will be light, I will be even slower than my usual slow to read comments and attend to emails). My fragrance, possibly for the whole week, is my DIY lotion with blood orange & ylang ylang.

These launches speak to fragrance’s growing power as both a revenue stream and a marketing tool. According to data analyst firm Circana, fragrance represents the fastest-growing prestige beauty category this year thus far, with dollar sales up 12% in the first half of 2024 versus the same period in 2023. But they are also a response to an evolving perfume audience that is hungry for more offbeat fragrances — should those launches pass muster with their discerning noses, that is.

It’s Tuesday and International Lefthanders Day, plus Alfred Hitchcock’s birthday. What fragrance are you wearing?

Mayonnaise accord
Hellmann’s has partnered with Tennessee Titans quarterback Will Levis to release Will Levis No. 8, a fragrance based on the smell of Hellmann’s signature product. The just-released scent combines hints of tart lemon, coffee, musk, vanilla, and something the company is calling “mayonnaise accord.”
