I'm taking ginger points in Marni. Tea at the moment, for extra points, is Upton Christmas Tea brewed with a sprinkling of Upton organic Ginger Root.

I’m taking cp points with Molecule 01 + Ginger. Ginger is one of my favorite notes, so I have several ginger scents.
Oh I forgot that one!
While preparing for this CP, I discovered that Safran Troublant not only contains ginger but that it is also the fourth strongest note according to Fragrantica votes. Somehow, I had never noticed it until today.
So yes – I am CP-compliant with Safran Troublant.

I have to rummage through my boxes to see if I have any Ginger Essence by Origins. Do you all remember that one? It was all the rage in the department stores in the 90s. Whoops, it came out in 2000. My sister and I liked it then. I may have given my bottle to her. Origins is/was a skincare company. The scent has apparently been reformulated and is now more citrus cologney. Anyway, I recall it as being perfect for hot summer L.A. days. Very refreshing with the piquancy and zing of fresh ginger when you slice it with a sharp knife. Mmmmm.
I loved Origins! There was something called Ginzing or Ginzeng too, I think, but that was ginseng-related, iirc. They made a facial toner that was wonderful too (can’t remember what it was called), and I was very sad when I discovered that it was nowhere to be found anymore.
I remember they had a body cream which was very popular back then.
Origins made a fantastic yellow eye shadow called Pineapple that was so effortlessly glam (or at least on my ghostly-white-plus-freckles complexion). I wish I had bought a case of it!

There are a few ginger-containing scents in my collection, but this morning I’m wearing Kerosene Broken Theories. Ginger would fit right in with the other warm spices in this.

Later this afternoon I”ll be seeing my surgeon for a checkup on my knee, and to have the staples removed. Things seem to be going ok. I expect him to prescribe some outpatient PT for me to keep things flexible and to work on my balance.
It’s a pretty day here, sunny and a bit cool (for us), in the low 60s. Always nice to be able to wear a light jacket or sweater.

My iPhone is broken. Ugh. The wifi/data connection seems to be working but I cannot get it to conenct to anything. No messaging, no internet, no music etc. I can only receive phone calls. Feels like I am back at the 90s.

A recipe for Emily Dickinson’s gingerbread…it seems pretty basic compared to current recipes. Might give it a go later. Wearing Twilly Tutti for the ginger in an otherwise fruity floral, nice in warm weather. I have been reading Daphne du Maurier recently, and keep going across descriptions of scent, adding atmosphere to the locations. I’m enjoying the novels.

I made a wonderful discovery the other day in Sephora. There was only a sign, no bottle on display, but I asked for it: Dior J’adore Eau de Parfum Roller-pearl, at 20-ml the smallest size of J’adore. You can get either the EdT or the EdP. It’s a small, elegant, elongated version of the classic J’adore bottle.
If, like me, you love J’adore but feel even one spritz is a bit much, this Roller-pearl version is perfect.
I am a sucker for a cute bottle…
I keep meaning to get the Hypnotic Poison roller pearl.

Frozen mango and yogurt smoothie
I finished my sample of Sana Jardin Tiger by her side today but I have a travel spray in the mail, it’s definitely my favorite from the line, and it lasts very well. Tonight it’s LO Vanagloria, one of my two sweet incense perfumes.

I have no ginger perfumes at all, which is surprising. I love eating candied ginger. We named our daugher after Emily Dickinson. My SOTD is a revisit of Sonoma Scent Studio Femme Jolie! I am digging deep into my neglected collection. Cheers!
Is Femme Jolie an older SSS perfume? I don’t think I’ve ever seen it on their website.
I’m participating in the CP all week because I have many wonderful perfumes that include ginger notes. Today I dusted off the old decant of Burberry Brit Red since it’s been a while that I’ve worn it. Lovely! Yesterday I wore my sample of Oriza L. Legrand Empire des Indes. I’m considering buying the soap version of this since I saw it was in stock at Fumerie and I need to replenish my bar soap stash soon. I wanted to retry the perfume since I remember really liking it the first time I tried it. I kinda love it actually. Spices and sweetness atop powdery amber and resins. It’s definitely a descendant of Shalimar but reminds me of a sweeter L’Ombre Fauve by PG. But alas, I have plenty of perfumes like that in my collection, between bottles, decants, and samples. So I may just indulge in the soap for now.
Oriza L. Legrand has a lot of gorgeous scents.
I’m pretty sure I am done with Christmas shopping. I have a few items to return though. It’s very gloomy here, and there is another snow advisory.
My sotd is TM Alien the taste of fragrance edition. It is one of my favorites and is just about empty. I decided I will use it up this week ( I wore it yesterday too) I am doing an early resolution to not hoard as much and enjoy instead.

In other news, still no luck with the NJTransit rail refund 🤬! It has been, are you ready for this, 16 weeks! It’s now quadruple the amount of time “promised” per the website and still no closer. I called to follow up last week and was given another number to call. I called that number and left a message (Thursday). I called again to follow-up and the mailbox is full. I called the original number and was transferred to Customer Service who can only answer questions related to transportation OTHER THAN RAIL. Seriously, I think they are just passing the buck around. Anyway, I will try again tomorrow morning but I bet I have to leave a message, if I can, again.

With my lingering cold, I’m so into all things ginger this week. I started yesterday wearing Prada Infusion Ginger. And today I’m sampling Invasion Barbare. I also made ginger milk tea today with lots of brown sugar!

I’ve been testing Tauer Heraud for the past 3 days. WOW. It is absolutely stunning, and possibly my favorite perfume from that house. High praise, considering it is going against LADdM and Le Maroc Pour Elle. It has a similar vibe to Soivhole’s Paracelsus to me. Decadent.
I saw ONE stinking snowflake yesterday when I was getting my mail. ONE!! The snow gods continue to snub me.
SOTD = something else, ha! Zara’s Parfait d’Orchidee EdP. It smells great in cold weather. I had a sneaking suspicion that would be the case. And it layers beautifully with the far drydown of Heraud, which lasted thru a shower!

I seem to be snow repellent again this winter. The snow here in Colorado is falling in other parts of the state.
The cold weather seems to perform magic with some fragrances!
The Parfait d’Orchidee has a fair amount of vanilla and is on the sweet side. So it was Too Much in warmer weather when I first got it.

I have three Zara perfumes when I went on a spending spree back in the Spring. I haven’t looked at the website since. Quite happy with 2 of them, but I keep waffling on the third one.

Don’t get me wrong, the mountains here are beautiful in their white winter coats. But where I am at seems to be the driest part of Colorado. 🏔️

I was in good company with those that wore Fils De Dieu today. Sprayed my clothes too! With the colder weather, it was a close cloud around me.
