The daily lemming

Posted by Robin on 16 October 2024 4 Comments

Cire Trudon's holiday collection for 2024 includes four candles ("On the inside, they are covered in 24-carat gold leaf, while on the outside, a royal décor comes to life with stylized chandeliers, pendants and curtains"). Arosa in cream/beige ("...invites the femininity of rose and the hushed character of amber to the festivities. A true woody bouquet, its rose fragrance welcomes a rich mix of amber, sandalwood, cashmere wood and cedar notes, softened by a light vanilla base note"), Angelo (shown) in green and gold ("...unfolds as a comforting woody-amber scent: rich with gourmand notes of orange and cinnamon, Angelo blends cashmere wood and marron glacé before revealing musky base notes"), Fir in black ("Hints of myrrh and incense absolute bring depth to the perfume’s head notes - Siberian pine and fir tree) and Gloria in red ("...warms the room with the scent of firewood – composed of notes of Indonesian Patchouli, Haitian Vetiver and cedarwood. Wrapped around it are spicy notes of cinnamon, clove and nutmeg, and a hint of citruses"). In 3 sizes, 270g ($150), 800g ($365) and 2.8kg ($750).

“The turtles remain the sultans’ favorite. Back in the day, the sultans would place candles on their back: at night, the turtles would slowly wander through the tulip gardens, illuminating the flowers inside the revered walls of Topkapi Palace.”
