Wednesday scent of the day 10/2

Posted by Robin on 2 October 2024 78 Comments

It’s Hump Day and the International Day of Non-Violence. Don't forget that Donatella will be dropping by tomorrow! What fragrance are you wearing?

My cinnamon of the day: Neela Vermeire Créations Pichola.

Reminder: on 10/4, for National Cinnamon Roll Day, wear a fragrance with a cinnamon note.

And for those of you who like to plan ahead, see Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2024, where I'll try (but usually fail) to have the next five or six weeks mapped out in advance.

    Hello.
Sotd is Cherry Oud. Cherry with a hint of cough syrup and gentle oud.
The temperature is finally below 90 today and there’s breeze! Hopefully it will stay that way. I am soooo ready for jacket season.

I am wearing Nicolai Maharadjah for the CP. Nicolai website does not mention cinnamon, but Fragrantica and Basenotes do, and I can definitely smell it. To me, it is a combination of lavender, vanilla, cinnamon and woody notes. An aromatic gourmand, if you will.

Oh, I love that scent, will probably wear it on Friday. I smell a strong cinnamon note in there as well.
The candle with the same name is actually pretty great as well

I like it a lot as a perfume, but I would probably love it as a candle. Somehow it smells more like a “space” scent than “body” scent to me.

I am non compliant in Prada Un Chant d’Amour. But my h told me I smelled good before I left the house this morning which is always nice. Also, the sun is out.😎 Our forecast for the next week is temps in the 70s and upper 60s, I love it!

I’m wearing an old favorite today, Commes des Garcons 2. It’s the one with the ink note and Fragrantica says it has cinnamon so that’s good enough for me.
Our weather is like madtowngirl’s, finally clear, sunny and cool. Taking my mom for a drive this afternoon.

La Couche du Diable for the Cp, and perfect for a cold day with a heavy rain warning a.k.a more tiresome winter weather. Suddenly, the cemetery is bursting with bluebells. All the “ green stalks” on the untended graves are now ultra violet, and the early roses are opening.

I wish I still had my bottle of Villoresi Incensi, not only for the cinnamon note, but also because it was such an interesting cold/warm incense. Nothing else like it. I must have swapped it away long ago before I realized it was important to keep those amazing and weird gems.

Instead, I’m wearing my decant of Safran Troublant – no cinnamon, but as one reviewer on Fragrantica said: sugared ginger rose and saffron, with a milky sandalwood. That’s a great description. I so wish Safran Troublant, Tea for Two and Dzing! could make a comeback.

Epona for me. I swear I get a hint of cinnamon, but the notes only mention honey, must be an olfactory hallucination from the honey. I love this scent. It is my new desert island favorite. Right now my daily rotation is down to a tight three, St. Clair Casablanca, for the orange blossom beauty and so much more, Dune Vintage, because it is its mysterious freaky little self, and I can’t believe I waited so long to get some more, and this Epona, because I can’t stop sniffing my wrist, and it makes me dream of horses I have known. Happy October!

Yet again not participating in the CP. No cinnamon scents here, not even any cinnamon in the house as I haven’t cooked a recipe that called for it since coming over.

Today was Ummagumma, after wearing Hiram Green Hyde yesterday. I liked Hyde, but I think I’ve got that niche covered already in my collection with Tauer Lonestar Memories. According to his website the opening is lemon and bergamot, neither of which I smelled in the least as they were overwhelmed by a huge smoky fire note. The leather was nice, though, eventually.

Tomorrow is a holiday here, but not a holiday at home, so I’ll be working and none of the stores will be open. Monday was the opposite…all the Canadian holidays fall on Mondays this fall, which doesn’t work well when all the museums here are closed on Mondays. Sigh.

    SOTD = Chanel No.19 EDP

No cinnamon here, at all. On the 4 in-person days, I wore 2 spritzes of No.19 EDP each day as I did not want to scare off anybody.

As of 5:10 PM Eastern, I am done ✅ with my 40 hours of civil mediation training. Overall, it was fabulous! I now need to review my notes and also read through the voluminous materials which I was not able to do because … some of us never got it before the first day of class! Anyway, more to talk about tomorrow!

No cinnamon in my SOTD today. Record high temp set down at DIA (Denver International Airport) this afternoon. Too warm for spicy! Got Fire Weather warnings in quite a few places as well.

SOTD = Fzotic Five Squared from The Sample Stash. Very nice citrus and woody scent. Perfect for temps right around 90.
