Dries Van Noten x 4 ~ new fragrances

Posted by Robin on 29 August 2024 10 Comments

Dries Van Noten has launched four new fragrances: Bitter Splash, Camomille Satin, Crazy Basil and Vanille Camouflage.

Bitter Splash (above far right) ~ "Pomelo and leather. “A paradoxical yet balanced play of light and texture – the sparkling radiance of grapefruit veiled in the matte softness of leather.” — SUZY LE HELLEY, nose of Bitter Splash" Additional notes include cypress, orris, carrot seeds, geranium, vetiver and cedar.

Camomille Satin (second from right) ~ "Chamomile & Vanilla. “The extreme addiction of vanilla bean, coloured by the bucolic charm of chamomile.” — JULIEN RASQUINET & PAUL GUERLAIN, noses of Camomille Satin" Additional notes include petit grain bigarade, lavender, orange blossom, rose, musk and galbanum.

Crazy Basil (second from left) ~ "Basil & Cedar. “A true-to-nature aromatic note of basil getting crazy with the vibration of cedarwood and amber.” —JEAN CHRISTOPHE HERAULT, nose of Crazy Basil" Additional notes include bergamot, mandarin, geranium, lavandin, rosemary, musks and hinoki wood.

Vanille Camouflage (far left) ~ "Vanilla & Galbanum. “It’s so unusual to see a vanilla in its very original shape, and so green. This is exactly what the fragrance translates.” — ALEXANDRA MONET, nose of Vanille Camouflage" Additional notes include cypress, fig, lentisque, ylang ylang, sandalwood, benzoin and ambery woods .

Dries Van Noten Bitter Splash, Camomille Satin, Crazy Basil and Vanille Camouflage are available in 100 ml Eau de Parfum ($300 - $340) and in a 200 ml refill.

Hmm, Bitter Splash and the Cammomile Satin warrant investigation. The Cammomile bottle sorta fits my color schemes, but meh. Maybe they are prettier IRL?

I have never seen them IRL and not likely to 🙂

I probably won’t, either, but must say they sound lovely.

I have. I really like them. Didn’t find the juice to tip me into buying tho. Too spendy for just the flacon.

The original lineup didn’t smell great so not having any high hopes for these additions.

That’s a new one for me too. All hat, no cattle…now that’s a classic Texan insult.
