Parfums de Nicolai Macaron Bourbon, Pavlova & Saint Honore ~ new fragrances

Posted by Robin on 21 August 2024 9 Comments

French niche line Parfums de Nicolaï has introduced Les Gourmandises, a new trio of gourmand fragrances: Macaron Bourbon, Pavlova and Saint Honoré.

Macaron Bourbon ~ Amber floral gourmand. "Macaron Bourbon is an exquisite, fragrant creation, an ode to sensuality and sophistication. From the very beginning Macaron Bourbon seduces you with a gourmand note of bitter almond with a sweet rum facet, softened by caramel, whose smooth, comforting sweetness creates a veil of delight on the skin. Cinnamon and clove intertwine, offering a spicy warmth reminiscent of spellbinding aromas of pastry coming out of the oven. Davana, its nuances both sweet and slightly tart, adds a fruity and high-quality aspect. Macaron Bourbon also reveals an intoxicating mix of patchouli, vanilla and tonka beans, creating an addictive velvety feel. This smooth, powerful combination is enhanced by the subtle presence of rose which adds an elegant, refined floral touch, perfectly balancing the indulgent, sweet notes."

Pavlova ~ Fruity gourmand. "A daring, innovative scent inspired by the lightness and delicacy of the famous dessert of the same name, Pavlova is a celebration of sweetness and freshness, evoking the grace of a dance between sweet and sour flavours. Pavlova’s theatrical opening is an invitation to discover the tangy gourmet notes of sparkling pineapple, passion fruit and coconut, creating an unapologetic sense of the exotic. There is also a raspberry note whose rich, fruity nuances have a surprising depth. This sweet and slightly bitter red berry adds a fascinating intricacy, balancing the lightness of other fruity notes such as peach. Pavlova is a fragrance enhanced by a combination of woody notes like cedar and sandalwood, a reassuring contrast to the light, fruity notes. Vanilla and musk harmoniously entwine to sign this original composition recalling the airy, melting meringue of the Pavlova."

Saint Honoré ~ Amber woody gourmand. "A captivating perfume inspired by the delicacy and sophistication of the famous French pastry, Saint-Honoré is an invitation to happiness. With its refreshing character, the perfume is unveiled by bergamot opening like a sunrise on a garden of citrus trees – a citrus note skillfully enhanced by a spicy touch of pepper. A symbol of purity and beauty, orange blossom brings a floral sweetness transporting us to the heart of a flowering orchard. Hazelnut, with its warm roundness and a milky chord, recalls childhood memories of freshly made pastries. The lingering trail of the perfume is a deep, rich balance in which musk pairs with vanilla to offer a creamy, enveloping texture. With its bittersweet nuances, the tonka bean adds a fascinating complexity and a last hint of sweetness."

Parfums de Nicolaï Macaron Bourbon, Pavlova and Saint Honoré are available in 30, 50 or 250 ml Eau de Parfum Intense. They can be found now at Libertine in Australia, La Parfumerie in the US, or by pre-order directly from the brand.

Just FYI, I smelled them in March as they were on preview at Esxence. None od them stood out to me but that comes from someone who doesn’t like gourmands with just few exceptions.

Interesting, thanks Lucasai! I am guessing I like more gourmands than you do, but these aren’t something I’d buy unsniffed.

I’ll gladly try these, her gourmands tend to be good.

This looks and feels like L’Occitane’s 68 Champs élysées collection.
