Lancome La Vie Est Belle L’Elixir ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 16 August 2024 18 Comments

Lancôme has launched La Vie Est Belle L'Elixir, a new flanker to 2012's La Vie Est Belle.

A warm floral elixir perfume that opens with sparkling raspberry and luminous violet leaf notes beautifully blending with a warm cocoa butter base. It creates a scent that evokes the liberation found in radical self-love. La Vie Est Belle L'Elixir Perfume is crafted with the noblest ingredients to unfold a rich olfactory experience with modern sophistication.

[...] The scent of happiness is reinvented by two renowned French perfumers, Christophe Raynaud and Antoine Maisondieu. The result? A head-turning, uplifting scent trail that embraces the most noble ingredients.

Additional notes for the gourmand fruity floral include bergamot, violet, rose, leather accord and cedar.

Lancôme La Vie Est Belle L'Elixir is available in 10, 30, 50 and 100 ml Eau de Parfum.

“Evokes the liberation found in radical self love” who wrote this with a straight face? Lol.
I plan on testing this tomorrow at the Mall.

I agree – hilarious wording but this may be the first La Vie that I will test. Let us know your thoughts!

I doubt keeping a straight face is a job requirement!

I have to say I have never liked any iteration of this scent. I had a coworker who doused herself in the original scent. It has forever turned me off from it. I know some of you love it, but stay away from me please😉

ha! a little goes a long way sometimes. 😅

I love the little scarf on the neck of the Belle bottles, but nothing in this perfume line has worked for me. Maybe this will be the one, but I’m not counting myself in yet.

A co-worker used to wear copious tongue-coating amounts of this. Recently though I bought the Iris Absolu flanker, so there’s that …

So, are you saying I need to try the Iris Absolu? I am guessing the base of the perfume is still there.

You should try it. It’s actually quite nice. I am not a fan of the original.

This new Elixir version is NOTHING like the original. It is straight up violet and rose with leather. No pralines!

There is a scratch and sniff if this in the latest Vogue September issue. It smells acceptable, if you know what I mean? Lots of the insert samples just stink. This one does not stink, so I will look for it at Ulta. The original left me umm, uninterested. 🙂

This is raspberry liquor powder. Lots of rose, too, and a lovely musk reminiscent of Angel Innocent’s. Very little to do with the original LVeB, though, and while not as awful as the last two flankers, still underwhelming. Hopefully this will be the last in the line.

Thank you. I am testing this now, and I have been going crazy trying to think of what the raspberry reminds me of. It is Angel Innocent.
