Sotd is Tiziana Terenzi Bianco Puro. Myrrh, amber and oud base with a drizzle of saffron and lavender infused caramel. Total opposite of a citrusy cologne!
The anti-cologne! But it sounds nice and cozy!

On a hot, muggy day like this, you’d think I’d be wearing something fresh and bracing, but no, I’m in Knize Ten. The bottle fairly leapt into my hand and said “wear me”, and who am I to resist? It *is* The Gentleman’s Fragrance, says so right on the label, and maybe I’m feeling particularly gentlemanly today, who can say?
You smell wonderful, and I think Knize Ten works rather well in the heat.

When I used to work in Tokyo, the department staff room had a shoes-off policy. It had a perpetual, pungent, vomit inducing stink of moldy feet. My colleagues seemed unfazed by this and some would even eat lunch there. I would only enter if I couldn’t avoid it, like discussing a case or something. 🤢

Seriously about the body odor! This past Monday, the township (or maybe the state?) had an every 5 years inspection for compliance with smoke / CO alarms. The last time they were here, I opened the door, the guy peeked in, saw the one required alarm and said thank you. This time, the guy came in and tested everything. I had one violation which is easy to fix. Oh wait, the point is, I cannot refuse entrance and the guy smelled sweaty musky 😝.
I think your inspection must be either a township or county thing. I never had to deal with it.

I am goign through the Hermes colognes I don’t wear that often. yesterday I wore Eau de Gentiane Blanche. Perfectly pleasant. Today I am in Eau de Neroli Dore.

So, cologne didn’t appeal to me today and I’m wearing Montale Intense Cafe.
How do you like the Montale? Have you tried the Montale Ristretto Intense Café? I have used up samples of both but can’t decide between them.
Intense Cafe is a soft spicy rose to my nose, with a lovely coffee note in the base. I have not tried Ristretto Intense Cafe but after looking it up, it’s on the wishlist now. Sounds like it has a stronger coffee note than Intense Cafe.
Many thanks for your words of support yesterday, friends. What impressed me about Ohmatdyt staff the most is that they finished all surgeries started before the attack, despite sirens and explosions. I know medics need nerves of steel, but this just shows their level of dedication.
That lemon picture is perfect for my SOTD – Acqua Viva by Profumum Roma. The ultimate lemon scent.
My SOTE, after showering (finally water is on!), is Water Calligraphy by Kilian. This one is not really a cologne (even though grapefruit is listed), but a delicate floral aquatic.

No points for me, but I smell fabulous in Acqua di Parma Iris Nobile edt. I had intended to wear Eau d’Hadrien, but the tall bottle of IN drew my eye (and hand) instead.
Do you prefer the edt or the edp of IN?
Definitely the edt. On me the EDP has an odd off-putting note that might be the tuberose? That and gardenia don’t usually work for me.
I need to expose myself to that ! Don’t know why I haven’t encounters it before now.
It’s lovely, but might be discontinued? Someone else here might know for sure. As info, the edt has much more citrus, and the EDP (spell-check doing the capitalization, grr) has more tropical flowers.
I’m wearing Frédéric Malle Eau de Magnolia for the lemon, bergamot, and grapefruit. Not a cologne I suppose, but I liked the citrusy magnolia enough to buy a travel size.

Being summery if not citrus-based in Guerlain’s Vetiver Pour Elle. We’re just past the crest of the heatwave, and boy, I am glad I finally got an air conditioner.
Love your sotd, and air conditioning is great. I feel so bad for all the people on the Gulf Coast without power in the heat.
Finished my second bottle of No 5 L’Eau today. Glad I had my third bottle that I purchased probably a year ago. I find I don’t wear this as much as I first did, but still really enjoy it. Have a great Wednesday everyone!

If you like Stella,you’ll enjoy this.It’s a more refined but in-your-face rose than Stella,much more potent and longlasting.There’s a sour metallic note I really enjoy as well,almost like an incense note,possibly from the labdanum?Either way,a very sensual rose/patchouli perfume!
Lillyjo, I’m not sure if JHAG Lady Vengeance Extreme would be a safe blind buy for you. Fragrantica says that it has Ambroxan in it.

Beryl continues to bless us with water she didn’t dump on Texas. I did 15 minutes of getting lazered- that’s as much as I can’t take at one time. Gotta keep the precancerous flaky spots at bay, and those odd little black hairs on my upper lip-where did they come from? Sigh, I may be maturing like fine wine, but the bottle seems to need more dusting and polishing than it used to! Now, to sooth my jangled nerves, I am having squid salad and a bowl of clam and mushrooms soup at the little sushi place right next to the Dematologist’s office! Light and tasty, and the very young couple that operate this tiny business are cute as a pair of bunnies. SOTD = Vivacious, which is having a little trouble showing up in this 98% humidity day. Not sure what I will wear tomorrow. Stay dry!
Would that be fried squid by any chance? I went to a restaurant by the office and wanted a calamari salad. I was told they do.not.have.calamari.salad. So I just said I would like calamari and a plain salad. Problem solved!

Thanks everyone for your condolences yesterday. It was a shock for me but definitely even worse for her husband. I “knew” she wasn’t long for this world although my pea brain kept thinking she’s going to beat the odds in terms of longevity. Anyway, she was loved.
For the Costco shoppers, here’s a controversial development. I haven’t bought the rotisserie chicken and I’m not sure I will — too big for one person although I can probably freeze a good portion of it.

I saw the Costco rotisserie chicken in a bag when I was there on Monday. I chuckled quietly to myself and walked on by.
Having said that, the rotisserie chicken does make an excellent chili ingredient when shredded or cubed up.
I had such a cool evening last night doing an authors talk at an independent bookshop. It was freezing cold but about 60 people crowded in and the sense of “ readers community” was really present. Lots of interesting discussion and questions afterwards, and quite a few people had brought in a stack of older novels to be signed, as well as buying the latest. It sounds a little cliched but it really is humbling when someone comes up and tells you that they loved a book, or a character and why, and what it meant to them when they read it. So often it’s hard to rid yourself of the notion that you failed as a writer so the acknowledgement and warmth was truly special. Anyway, wearing Rose Jam and waiting for sunrise ( as usual) on a cold morning.
It sounds like you had a truly wonderful time.
I imagine writing is quite a solitary and lonely activity? So I can see that meeting appreciative readers provides a lovely contrast to that.

The past few days I’ve been reading comments and then forgeting to post my SOTD, so I’m posting first then going back to read today. I’m not sure if passionfruit is technically a citrus but I’ve got two on today to compare: LEN’s Last Call to Ibiza and AS’s Saturday. Both are passionfruit-forward but LCtI leans a bit green with a fresh cannabis note and feels more rounded. Saturday leans tart and bright with that great rhubarb note. I’m thinking about layering on Pulp when these fade to really lean into the fruit withering-in-the-heat vibe happening here.
I am on theme for the CP with double-bergamot earl gray tea.
A “Pulp” shower gel would be perfect for hot, sticky summer weather.

Trying out Zara Parfait d’Orchidee today and notes are below. It’s a like but not a love so far. It’s spicy and kind of similar to Duelle.
I am eyeing Romance d’Iris from this line next but it is currently OOS on Zara. 😅I have a Zara problem of late. heheheh
Top notes: SFE incense / jasmine petals / ginger.
Middle notes: iris / benjui siam resin.
Base notes: vanilla / white musk / ambergris.
Didn’t get any floral notes with Parfait d’Orchidee at all when I tried it. Will retest it when more appropriate weather for it rolls around.
I’m rather pleased with that blind buy, though.

This is so funny. I don’t know that I am really that crazy about Parfait d’ Orchidee either, but I need to try again because I over sprayed when I first tried it. AND I was eyeing Romance d’ Iris too, but I have so many iris scents that I decided I better pass. Let me know if you decide to get it when it come back in stock. I have got to stay away from the Zara website. They are so reasonably priced that it is easy to just snatch one up. I do have to say I really like Leather Jardin and Fleur de Patchouli.
I think you might like Parfait d’Orchidee better if you tried again at a lower dose.
That and cooler temps.

I love Fleur de Patchouli too. I got that one when it was released the first time a year or two ago I think.
For the Parfait Orchidee, I didn’t get too much vanilla. It was mostly the benzoin/benjui siam resin note that was most prominent for me but I agree it might be better in cooler weather.
I’m in hectic mode since I’ve been helping a friend who is still without power and trying to finish my presentation and now must get all packed and ready to leave tomorrow morning. This is my Santa Fe trip. I somehow had it in my head I was leaving on Friday and then got the airline reminder to check in for my flight tomorrow! The hurricane really scrambled my brains.
But I smell cool and collected in Azemour les Oranges, always a suitable scent!

Today is the start of another heat wave here. My cell phone got slammed with a bunch of weather notifications around lunchtime. If it wasn’t heat advisories, then it was air quality alerts.
My foot is feeling much better today. Still giving it one more day before I do any serious walking on it. I didn’t even need any Advil this morning.
SOTD = Chanel Paris-Deauville (thanks Kris!) and Bliss’ Grapefruit and Aloe body butter in the usual spots.
