The daily lemming

Posted by Robin on 4 July 2024 5 Comments

From Apotheke, the Sea Salt Grapefruit 2-Wick candle: "Summer by the sea is always in the air with the bright and citrusy scent of Sea Salt Grapefruit...[it] balances tangy sea salt, black pepper, and ripe grapefruit with sweet tarragon and a fresh dewdrop accord for a bright and citrusy fragrance". $62 for 368g at Apotheke.

I really like the fragrances that Apotheke makes, and this is my favorite of the line-up.

Oh dear, on the notes alone this is VERY, VERY tempting and not crazy expensive. My holy grail grapefruit candle was discontinued 20 years ago, though I’ve found a decent replacement recently that’s a bit cheaper.

@AnnE…good to hear that the candle lives up to the promise. Hmm…

My holy grail grapefruit is Trudon Salta. I might actually replace it when it’s gone.

Oh dear, I’m not sure I wanted to know that given their prices. 🙂 Might be worth sniffing, though, if I can find it.

I still wish I’d bought backups of the Fresh honeysuckle grapefruit candle that was my holy grail back in the ’90s in Boston…when Fresh was just a local store. That scent didn’t survive the expansion to megabrand, sadly. Of course, back in the ’90s in Boston I didn’t have money to buy backups. 🙂 Such is life!
