Akro Smile ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 21 June 2024 9 Comments

Akro, the niche line of perfumer Olivier Cresp, has launched Smile, a new unisex fragrance.

SMILE is an addictive fragrance inspired by the pursuit of joy and born out of a unique family connection. Many years ago, as a young girl, Akro founder Anaïs Cresp asked her father, the Master Perfumer Olivier Cresp, to create a perfume just for her, one that nobody else in the world would have. Olivier set about creating a scent that was as powerful as it was personal, a bottle full of joy for his daughter to carry through life. To do this, he combined notes of Sage, Bergamot, and Raspberry, building a bright and vivid fragrance that could work at any time and any place.

For years, Anaïs kept this scent to herself, but now she wants to share it with the world. SMILE is addictive and spirited; a fragrance that will brighten your day.

Additional notes include ambrette seed and musk.

Akro Smile is available now at Luckyscent, in 30 ($90) and 100 ($185) ml Eau de Parfum.

Is it just me or do they seem to be putting out new ones rather fast lately?

Well the last one was possibly a Harrods exclusive, but Infuse did come out earlier this year.

I wonder if they release an exclusive and wider-distribution at the same time on purpose? Though East did eventually make it out of Harrod’s….

Infuse was pretty good, a proper tannic black tea.

Addictive AND addictive. Glad they covered all the bases there: I was beginning to worry.

Maybe I’m just jaded (I definitely am jaded) but I’ve heard that just-for-me-but-I’m-sharing-it-with-the-world story so many times that I don’t believe it any more. I think it’s marketing guff, designed to make buyers think they’re getting something special and rare and exclusive.

Agree. Even if it is true, brands should stop saying it.

Marketing aside, I’d like to give it a sniff. I don’t have enough summer perfumes, since I always gravitate naturally to deeper oriental type fragrances. Always room for (one) more! 😀

I’ve heard from a (akro) retailer that there was some change in strategy (I’m not sure but I think O. Credo is now more involved than before) and that indeed this come with releasing more perfumes and regular intervals (a more commercial strategy). Not sure if that’s true though.

      O. Cresp (instead of Credo) – stupid autocorrect mistake, sorry.
