Courreges L’Eau Pale ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 30 April 2024 16 Comments

French fashion house Courrèges has launched L’Eau Pâle, a new unisex fragrance.

Tale of a summer night, of the journey back from the beach under a starry sky - memories faded by the night’s spray. Shaped by the olfactory landscape of a Mediterranean island, this ethereal fragrance distills the resin of benzoin into a watercolour heart that is enhanced by lemon zest and a hint of lavender. ‘L’eau pâle’ is composed through layered impressions, the tenacity of costus charging its blend with a lingering singularity. A balance of half-tones, this eau de parfum recounts the evanescence of opaline twilight.

Additional notes include pink pepper, petitgrain, vanilla, vetiver, iris and ambroxan.

Courrèges L’Eau Pâle is available in 30, 50 and 100 ml Eau de Parfum and in a matching candle.

Yes! There’s something very uncomfortable about those weird white bottles with knobs on top.

Bingo! This doesn’t borne, how, since AFAIK, they’ve always used this shape. That it’s not so great in all white, I agree.
The scent sounds worth a sniff.

I think they are pale blue?

Yes, checked, they are pale blue. This is the same bottle in white, second from the left:

Huh. Well, now that you mention it, I see it as blue now. Isn’t that funny.

Also, very interested in how many people thought they looked white since that picture looks blue to me.

I agree that the bottles don’t look great, I like some of their creations though, Blanc and Empreinte in particular.

Have you tried Blanc? It’s a gourmand iris.

I haven’t. Gourmands don’t usually work for me. Is it very sweet?

It doesn’t seem gourmand to me at all. Iris and pink pepper with some big, bright, to me leaning almost sour rose. It’s like Commodity Orris with rose added. Funny how things can smell so different to different people. I agree that it’s great, though. I will have to try Empreinte.

I love the bottles, personally. My very old bottle of Empriente parfum is about 2″ tall and painted gold, with a gold ball cap. Very chic.
