Robert Piguet A L’Ombre ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 25 April 2024 5 Comments

Robert Piguet has launched À L'Ombre, a new woody oriental fragrance.

Like the anticipation of dusk as twilight falls on the sky, à L'Ombre captures the enigmatic allure of night and the intrigue of the unknown.

À L'Ombre was developed by perfumer Hamid Merati-Kashani. The notes include bergamot, pear, apricot, violet leaves, orris, sage, jasmine, amber, musk, vanilla, oakmoss, caramel, vetiver and patchouli.

Robert Piguet À L'Ombre is available now at Selfridges in the UK, £220 for 100 ml Eau de Parfum.

This sounds like it could be good. Except for the price. The notes make me think of a retro, kitchen-sink style of chypre.

Could be. Pear is such a turnoff to me that I don’t even like seeing it in the notes 🙂

I think this one might be exclusive to Selfridges at the moment.

I’m hoping the pear would disappear under all those other notes.

I ordered my bottle of Grand Chalet from them before it came to the US, and shipping was not exorbitant. Now they offer free shipping for something like $50 a year. Not a bad deal if your order a few times.
