Kenzo Flower Ikebana Mimosa ~ new perfume

Posted by Robin on 29 February 2024 6 Comments

Kenzo will launch Flower By Kenzo Ikebana Mimosa, a new fragrance for women. Flower Ikebana Mimosa is a flanker to 2023's Flower Ikebana, which was a flanker to 2000's Flower fragrance for women.

Immerse yourself in the warm embrace of a winter sun with the second opus in the FLOWER IKEBANA collection: FLOWER IKEBANA MIMOSA BY KENZO: The new blooming sunshine bouquet.

Mimosa Absolute, at the heart of the fragrance, offers a unique velvety and floral expression. In the base notes, the verticality of hinoki wood supports the entire composition, with golden sesame extract. This Eau de Parfum, composed of 91% ingredients of natural origin, arranges the highest quality of mimosa alongside exceptional raw ingredients.

Additional notes for the powdery floral include kumquat.

Flower By Kenzo Ikebana Mimosa will be available in 40 and 75 ml Eau de Parfum.

Update: the description from the perfumer via Kenzo...

“My aim was to create a velvety and enveloping olfactory experience. The radiant and warm aura of mimosa, coupled with sesame acting as a liaison, introduces a silky, delicately carnal texture of utmost elegance. Similar to the art of Ikebana, a hint of Japanese hinoki wood adds verticality, providing a foundational support to the composition.”  Marie Salamagne, perfumer of FLOWER IKEBANA MIMOSA

Love that bottle. Mimosa sometimes seems sharp to my nose, but I would definitely sniff this if I come across it.

Same! Although I never smelled the first Ikebana. But Kenzo’s Winter Flowers (eons ago!) was nicely done and if this is like that, I would want to smell it.
