Fragonard Lilas ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 23 January 2024 9 Comments

Fragonard has launched Lilas, a new fragrance celebrating the brand's flower of the year for 2024. (Last year's model was Narcisse.)

Fragonard is celebrating Lilac in 2024. A symbol of springtime freshness, its invigorating, green and delicately powdery fragrance unveils a floral heart with harmonies of spices. Its base notes, conjuring up vanilla and musk, pay homage to this opulent flower’s warm and sensual side.

" Lilac is a flower of striking contrasts, combining very powdery notes with the characteristic freshness of spring flowers." Aurélien Guichard

Guided by his memories and emotions, [Aurélien Guichard] embarked on the creation of Lilas by Fragonard, seeking to capture the very essence of lilac without physically smelling it. To Aurélien, transcribing the scent of lilac is far more than a simple olfactory process: it is an introspective journey combining visions, colors and textures. Free to interpret the flower’s facets as he wished, he recreated lilac’s highly contrasted yet harmonious blend of dazzling freshness and powdery softness. And that is the story of Lilas by Fragonard - a refreshing fragrance exalted by warm and sensual harmonies.

Additional notes include lemon, blackcurrant, linden blossom, hawthorn, heliotrope, clove and violet.

Fragonard Lilas is available in 50 ml Eau de Toilette, and in matching bath, body and home fragrance products.

Hmm…should look into where I can smell this. I love all things lilac. Throw in some linden blossom and I’m there. But the blackcurrant could kill it.

Beautyhabit will probably have it eventually, if that helps.

I got excited for a hot minute because a strong lilac note isn’t often used in perfume. Looks like it’s just the idea of lilac without using lilac.

      Lilac can’t be distilled…

Every year I say I am going to buy this ( for each year) and every year I don’t. Could this be the year?! Lol.
