Friday scent of the day 9/22

Happy Friday and happy Hobbit Day! It’s also the last day of (astronomical) summer…the Autumn Equinox will start in the early morning hours of Saturday (in the northern hemisphere, at least). Our community project for today: wear a fragrance that says adiós to summer, or hello to fall, or wear your favorite transitional fragrance. (If you’re in the southern hemisphere, adjust accordingly!)

What fragrance did you pick? As always, do chime in with your scent of the day even if you’re not participating in the community project.

Their odour of decaying meat

Parasitic, elusive and emitting an overwhelming odour of putrefying flesh, Rafflesia – often called the corpse flower – has intrigued botanists for centuries. Now, scientists are warning that it is at risk of extinction and calling for action to save it.

The blooms of the Rafflesia have become famous for their odour of decaying meat, produced to attract flesh-eating flies.
