The daily lemming

Posted by Robin on 4 December 2023 6 Comments

Not really a lemming for me personally, but if you're a fan of Cartier La Panthère, the hair mist is now in the fragrance's new packaging design (if you loved the old — and I loved it so much I bought the Eau de Parfum unsniffed — you might want to purchase your preferred concentration soon). $67 for 50 ml at Saks Fifth Avenue. (And you can see an image of the new Eau de Parfum bottle at Vogue Philippines.) (And adding...that article also makes it clear that the fragrance has been reformulated "...toward a fully plant-based solution".)

A definite downgrade in packaging. I liked the original so disappointed on that front too. I can’t decide if I’d want a bottle though. I have the extrait which is lovely and a bit softer.

I hate it, but I guess it is more eco friendly — less glass or something, I did not read the article carefully. But the panther now looks a little mean?

Yes, I almost commented that I do like that it’s less wasteful to produce. It’s very retro and maybe not in a good way.

The original was so much more elegant. I do not understand why they did this. Oh wait, I think I have an idea. The new one is cheaper to produce. 😒

And more eco-friendly & refillable, is supposed to be the point I guess…but yes, the old bottles were MUCH more elegant and I am sure more expensive to produce.

I guess I missed the fine print. Plus, I’m a bit more cynical about companies and their eco-claims. 🫤
