From Balmain, a trio of hair perfumes in Cardamom 1974 ("delicately scents the hair with a rich and intense signature Balmain scent"), Ginger 1974 ("with notes of ginger, vanilla, and a variety of woods"), and Vetiver 1974 ("with citrusy grapefruit, bergamot, patchouli, and rich amber"). $177 each for 100 ml at Saks.
Personally, I do not use hair perfume. But this can be a good signal, isn’t it?
Cannot wait for the revival of the Balmain brand and all their classics. Oh, please do it good, Estee Lauder.
Supposedly Balmain Beauty will launch in 2024, and originally they reported that Olivier Rousteing was going to perfumery school, so…we’ll see!
Seems to be an extension of their hair care line which is now being widely distributed, and hopefully not an indication of plans for the fragrance relaunch. Olivier doesn’t shy away from a string shoulder, over the top opulence on the runway – so I’m praying that carries over to whatever he has planned for fragrance. There are so many Balmain classics (even from recent times) that could use a comeback.
