Lush x Community ~ new fragrances

Posted by Robin on 24 November 2023 16 Comments

Lush has launched a new limited edition collection with fragrances chosen by the Lush Subreddit and Official Lush Discord Community. There are 4 perfumes (Creamy Candy, Super Milk, Tender Is The Night, Toil & Trouble) and 3 body sprays (Golden Pear, Sticky Dates, Tramp).

Creamy Candy ~ from the Bubble Bar fragrance. "Cosy up with clouds of creamy, dreamy vanilla absolute, as this amber perfume carries you to a simpler time. Vanilla is thought to de-stress and calm thanks to its uplifting, sugary-sweet scent." $65 for 30 ml.

Golden Pear ~ from the bar soap fragrance. "Notes of sweetly spiced pear and Brazilian orange oil blends with spicy cardamom, an intensely warm aroma that clears the mind like a breath of fresh air. Savor the first fluffy pear drop of this limited-edition body spray as the notes evolve on the warmth of the skin into something deeper, darker and most delectable. Will you bite?" $45 for 200 ml.

Tender Is The Night ~ "This warm blend of sensual florals is a scent that quickly became a fan favorite when it first launched in Tender Is The Night Massage Bar. It's made with a blend of creamy jasmine, ylang ylang and sweet vanilla, all ingredients thought to be aphrodisiacs. One spritz is all you need to delight yourself or anyone you allow close enough." $70 for 30 ml.

Sticky Dates ~ "Sticky Dates Shower Gel has quickly become a Lush community favorite, which is why we've created this limited-edition body spray with the same delectable scent. First, lather up with the shower gel, rich in skin-softening organic date syrup and delectable vanilla pod infusion. Then spritz yourself with this decadent blend of sweet benzoin resinoid and sandalwood to layer the comforting caramel fragrance." $45 for 200 ml.

Super Milk ~ "Super Milk Conditioning Hair Primer went viral when people using it were being complimented on their scent everywhere they went. Customers have been buying it just to smell good, so we thought we'd create a limited-edition perfume for them so they can use that instead. The blend of lemony litsea cubeba, vanilla and tonka absolutes create an aroma that's creamy, citrusy, sweet and absolutely irresistible." (Sold out in the US. In the UK it's £30 for 30 ml.)

Toil & Trouble ~ "This limited-edition perfume was inspired by witches around a cauldron and the materials they might use to conjure up some mischief including earthy patchouli and sweet, woody orris oil. Labdanum resinoid, an ingredient that's been used in incense and perfumes since antiquity, provides a rich, complex base note." (Unavailable in the US. In the UK it's £30 for 30 ml.)

Tramp ~ "Long-time Lushies may remember the days when the deep, dark green Tramp Shower Gel was sold in shops. Mysterious and sensual, the fragrance is a blend of patchouli oil, oakmoss absolute and the spirit of the forest. It's a necessity for all forest nymphs, especially if you're living in the big city, far from your glade." $50 for 200 ml.

Dangit now I’m gonna have to go see if they have any or all of these at the local shop, because at least half of them sound good.

They put them out on a mobile app 2 days ago and I did not have time to announce…so I’d hurry!

You’ve got to hand it to Lush for still offering small bottles at reasonable prices. Toil and Trouble is the one I was most interested in but it isn’t available here so oh well.

So Super Milk specifically said sold out, but Toil & Trouble just said unavailable. Don’t know why but might possibly be worth checking back later just in case…

I wish Lush would bring back the Tramp shower gel.

It was a really earthy, mossy, “dirty” patchouli. It had oakmoss in it, as well as patchouli, which may be part of why it was discontinued, but that is just a guess on my part. I liked it because it wasn’t a sweet, candy scent like so many of their products. I also like the Lord of Misrule bath bomb and Blue Skies & Fluffy White Clouds bubble bar. I like Karma too, but that is a “cleaner” sweeter patchouli.

They won’t ship some of these to California…the state of over-regulation. 😌

All kinds of illicit and probably legitimately dangerous stuff going on in our fair state but Heaven forbid they allow a 1 oz. bottle of Creamy Candy to be shipped to me. 🤣 No idea what it smells like and I could send to my sister in CT but would rather wonder and gripe. 😉

Yes, they said something about it being too quickly done to meet the CA standards. Shame.

Just what we need, more artificially sweet smells clogging up our noses.

I must get round to visiting my local Lush shop. I was a huge fan (& even bigger purchaser!) in their original incarnation as Cosmetics To Go, when they were a mail order company with just one shop on England’s south coast, so you ordered via their catalogue which you could sign up for to be sent to you – yes, I’m old! Gorgeous products back then, exceptional value for money & their Ginger perfume was out of this world. I remember buying a huge slab of raspberry soap & slicing off portions to give to colleagues, who in turn became mail order customers as they were so impressed. I still buy from them occasionally.
