It’s Friday! It’s also International Chefs Day, World Osteoporosis Day and Information Overload Day. Birthdays: Arthur Rimbaud, Jelly Roll Morton, Bela Lugosi, Tom Petty, Viggo Mortensen. Our community project for today: wear a fragrance that evokes one of Pantone’s picks for the Autumn/Winter 2023/2024 NYFW Color Palette. (If you like, click through to the article and pick your fragrance based on the color name or description rather than the color itself, as in “Exuding the warmth and splendor of the sun, High Visibility expresses joy and good cheer.” or “Sturdy and steady Burnt Sienna conveys a sophisticated earthiness.” Also note that the set includes Viva Magenta, the color of the year…you could cheat and wear what you picked for that project.)

What fragrance did you pick? As always, do chime in with your scent of the day even if you’re not participating in the community project.
I had Tender Peach plans for today, but instead I’m getting through the tail end of Covid. I’m commando and I slept in, again…

“I’m very suspicious of the idea of the one greatest day of my life. And for me, that day was really part of a whole chapter,” says Jessica Murphy of her 2007 wedding. For the small ceremony at her high school chapel, she wore her mother’s dress and her grandmother’s favorite perfume, Bellodgia by Caron, a soft carnation and rose scent. “I was very happy wearing it that day, because it was something I loved that was already part of my life, the way my husband was already part of my life by that point.”
— Our own Dr. Jessica weighs in on wedding fragrances. Read more in at How to Pick the Perfect Wedding Fragrance at Harper's Bazaar.

Happy Almost-Friday and happy International Gin & Tonic Day! Birthdays: John le Carré, Peter Max, Divine, Philip Pullman. PSA: The splitmeet will start on Saturday. What fragrance are you wearing?
I had Persian Jewel plans for today, but instead I’m sick, commando and I’ve overslept.
Reminder: on 10/20, wear a fragrance that evokes one of Pantone’s picks for the Autumn/Winter 2023/2024 NYFW Color Palette…
