Tantalizing, rare, opulent

Tantalizing, rare, opulent. Those three adjectives are how most would probably describe oud. [...] And for those that are drawn to its mystery and alluring aroma in perfume, will also be besotted with its next chapter. As of late, perfumers are reinventing the heady note by pairing it alongside light, fresh accords. The result is fruit-oud perfumes, sweeter, more sensual scents you need to try.

Interesting that the article leads with Royal Oud, which came out in 2011. I thought of other fruity ouds (or oud interpretations) from this time from Aramis and Estee Lauder: Wood Mystique 2011, Perfume Calligraphy 2012, and Amber Mystique 2013. I am curious about Maison Crivelli Maracuja, but I can be overwhelmed in tantalizing opulence by Teatro alla Scala, too, so the lemming curls up for a nap this time.

Yes, oud has been having its main character moment, fruit and no fruit, for a very very long time.

Hahaha… those are not the three words I’d use to describe it…
